Hey guys, i currently have a htc one x from at&t and development on there is like dead..
So i'm thinking of switching to the galaxy nexus since i had a nexus S and it was sexy and dependable.
what im looking for the a white galaxy nexus,
So the question i'm asking is, does this device support the 4g lte of at&t? if so, what would the model number be?
i know it does support 4g, but i cant find anything on the lte info on google
thanks for the responses
No LTE on At&t's Gnex.
No, in order to use it on AT&T you need the unlocked GSM model (i9250), which is HSPA+ 21mbps, not LTE.
And the two LTE variants for Verizon and Sprint will not work on AT&T. Just how it is.

Depends on your area, anywhere from 3mbps to about 10mbps. Why don't you turn off LTE on your One X and see?

Got a white one!
Just took advantage of this deal. I already have a gray one bought from Negri but I'll be returning through Amex premium return to pay for this one. I'll be saving a total of $120. I really wanted a white one and saw they were offering it so I went for it. If anyone is hesitant to buy from from dailysteals.com don't be. They are a really good company to buy from. I bought a galaxy note about two weeks ago and it came brand new. They forgot to include the 8GB SD card and when I emailed them about it they just sent me one no questions ask. If your looking for a nexus this is the deal for you.
What about warranties?
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
Not really worried about warranty. If you already have a galaxy nexus or contemplating on getting a international one you already know you won't get warranty anyway. There really isn't a point to worry because no one will have it anyway. Better to just get one at this price then buying it somewhere else for $100+.
I bought one last month on eBay for $580. Well

Sprint's Galaxy Nexus will be LTE. Since Sprint's 3G network is CDMA, there's no way for them to have HSPA+ (which is GSM only). But Sprint will barely have any LTE coverage when they launch the Galaxy Nexus since they're new to the LTE game.
I just ordered my sprint galaxy nexus and I'm curious as to whether current cdma ROMS (cooked for the Verizon galaxy nexus) will work as is our will need to be ported?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
I would think so, because most ROMs/kernels (that I've seen) are compatible between the GSM and CDMA Nexus phones, so I would think it would be the same for the Sprint version. But I'm not a dev, so I'm not 100% on that.

Without going into too much detail, how would they be compatible when they use different radios and towers and such? Especially when sprint launches their LTE in like 2020 or so. I would also assume that we would be able to use the same hotspot hack as well? I don't know how roms work, I just know I like them

Verizon and Sprint both use CDMA and LTE. Neither use GSM or HSPA+. They'll be the "same" hardware. The only differences we see now is that they're operating on different frequencies.

I'd imagine there would be a slight amount of tweaking involved still. For example, the ROM includes the build.prop which makes reference to the specific carrier. But whatever the differences are maybe a flashable zip could be easily created to convert ROMs made for the VZW Gnex to the S'G'Nex.

Im switching services to sprint and looking to either get the nexus or the s3. All hardware specs aside which would most likely be the better choice..? From what I read it looks like the s3 is stuck in 3g while lte rolls out for sprint. Im leaning towards the nexus as its a pure android phone with no bloat on top of it. Would it be a smart choice to go with the gnex or get the s3 and wait for the 4g lte?

3g isn't bad for me. It's an easy choice IMO. If you want access to the latest software, and want it to be fully functional, and stable, go Nexus. The GS3 doesn't have "that" much going for it over the Nexus.

"All hardware specs aside" makes it very simple. Galaxy Nexus hands down. But please get the GSM version to get the full benefit and all of the freedom from contracts, carrier restrictions, and official software delays.
If your not getting GSM nexus may as well get the better hardware. S3 would be my recommendation, though I'll personally stick with my GSM nexus.
That's my unbiased opinion, considering the forum your on you should know what most people will say.

Dont be lured by the unlimited marketing engine from Sprint. Their network is horrible. 3g is more like 2g at best and 4g is hit or miss. I imagine given their track record, LTE will be the same. Unlocked GNEX on T-mobile is the way to go! Thats what I did and couldnt be happier.

Bad 3G? It really all depends on location. Really if your not in an area where LTE will be very prevalent. Then go with the GSM. Otherwise you may want to reconsider the sprint nexus. I've seen people getting consistent 25+ Mbps. And just as much upload. That plus non throttled unlimited is heaven sent.
