[Update V1.2 available] HiddenEye - Awesome app to catch your phone snoopers. - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

New Version 1.2 now available... Please upgrade...
* Improved photo capture method.
* Larger images
* Bug fixes
* Performance improvements
* Reduced file size (now only 570KB)
Ever wanted to know who has tried snooping into your phone while you were away. Your friends or family member might have tried to unlock your phone while you are away. HiddenEye is a simple app with no frills that will photograph the person when they try to unlock your phone. You can set it to sound alarm when a user tries to unlock your phone without your knowledge.
Now you can see who is trying to use your phone while you are away. Once you unlock your phone, you will be shown the photographs of the people who tried unlocking your phone in your absence. Sounds interesting ! Try it and let us know if you have any suggestion to improve it further.
Worried that your phone does not have front camera. With HiddenEye, now you can know the someone has tried to snoop into your phone. You can also set alarm if someone is trying to unlock your phone with wrong password. If you have a front camera, then you can see who tried unlocking your phone.

You are right... You need to switch off the Security Status to disable this app. It wont take pictures unless you turn it on again..

Sounds like a great app.
One way you could possibly improve it would be to enable sending the pictures to an email along with location data, to help catch thieves

Not seeing a way to customize the alarm sound. I think that could be rather useful to differentiate between an incoming call or someone trying to snoop if you are within earshot.

[ROM][JB][CM10][PORT]Jellybean Port from Desire S (12/06/2012)

I present to you a Jellybean ROM port! i know cnote has already released one, but the more variety the better? perhaps...we shall see
first off, i would like to thank:
-nk111: for letting me use his ROM to port. link here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776256
-elginsk8r: for the kernel. awesome!
-aaraya1516: for his never ending help in compiling the kernel and files for me. thank you!!
-Cnote: for letting me use his ROM as a base
-Synthetic.nightmare: for his kernel, and for still teaching me things. what a good teacher/dev
-ckisgen: for helping me fix an important bug regarding SD card
-the other devs
-the xda peeps here
onto the ROM
Here are some screenshots! Give thanks to this user: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29135158&postcount=125
what works:
-camera!! yes, it works
-CM stuff, like weather on lockscreen, a power menu that can reboot, go into recovery, etc.
-thats all i know for now. the rest is the basic stuff, like wifi, bluetooth, etc.
what doesnt work:
-i am not too sure myself, so if anyone wants to keep looking for stuff, please do and inform us so i can put it under here
-heat issues because of the kernel. With pretty much anything that requires audio and having headphones inserted will cause the phone to heat up
Instructions:
1. wipe all /system, /cache/ dalvik-cache, and /data
2. flash ROM
3. flash gapps
4. flash LowMicFix.zip (so Google Now and other apps can recognize voice better. mic is too soft)
if updating:
1. just flash it without wiping system, data, etc.
2. flash gapps
3. flash LowMicFix.zip
link to ROM: http://d-h.st/users/chickenfactory/?fld_id=4125#files - 12-06-2012 (latest)
extras: http://d-h.st/users/chickenfactory/?fld_id=4121#files
link to gapps: http://goo.im
kernels that work with this ROM: http://d-h.st/users/chickenfactory/?fld_id=4798#files
here are the changes for the latest build:
synced up to cm repo as of 12/06

tips:
if you want to record video, download videocam illusion. go into the settings, and change the audio frequency from 48kHz to 44.1kHz. there ya go, recording!
dont want a green line on your 5mp pics? check out Camera JB+ on the play store (or if you can find it elsewhere ). it works fine for me
full wiping from time to time may help in the lagginess of the ROM. this one is up to the user
a cache and dalvik cache wipe may be effective. also, fix permissions. that can be helpful as well
test this out guys!
Up to date kernel (thanks THEindian):

check this out! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881573
i flashed it, nothing went wrong. i am going to see if it worked. it probably will. go for it!
Status update #1: Dev-Host is being a PITA. so, google drive will be the new mirror for now
Status update #2: i uploaded the 7-19 version. camera works, since i replaced some files from the 7-20 version. backlights seem to be working as well, even with auto-brightness
Status update #3: apparently, the backlights keep going on and off at random times with auto brightness. strange...
Status update #4: looks like i never updated this in a while lol. ok, so cm things from cm9 are now starting to come together in cm10 . bluetooth is finally working...well it discovers devices now. 8-14-2012 is the latest build. go get it!
Status update #5: i've been slacking in these lol. anyways, a new build will be up. it will be a 9-14-2012 version (status made on 9/13/2012)
Status update #6: i will have to delay the update. sorry about that (status made on 9/13/2012)
Status update #7: finally an update (9-17-2012)! camera works out of the box (or out of flash...however you want to say it), which means you dont need to flash the camfix. isnt that great?? less things to flash! (status made on 9/17/2012)
Status update #8: 3.0 kernel is being worked on. as for now, a new update is being uploaded. also, check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881573 (made on 9/24/2012)
Status update #9: trying to get wifi working on the 3.0 kernel. no luck so far. will continue to try.
edit: it did not work. kernel 3.0 does not have working wifi yet. but we are so close. wifi is the only thing standing in the way (unless the heat and battery issue when headphones are inserted is still present. i didnt really test it) (status made on 10/5/2012)
Status update #10: i am back! just did an update to this port. hope you all enjoy. last port for this phone, unless i change my mind and do other ports in the future . (status made on 12/12/2012)
Status update #11: thanks to THEindian, a kernel that fixes the overheating problem. woohoo! and it's up to date (made on 12/22/2012)
Downloading now. Gonna play with it until I fall asleep
Thanks 0.0!

Well its supposed to connect fast on wifi, it uses the IP address to help pinpoint your location.
What makes a difference is if it locks on the network, cause wifi ain't everywhere ya know.

Both the posts you link have 1 problem each in them. The second probably isn't even related to the update but more the way it was flashed (op said flashed multiple times, why?) Or a problem with their sd card.
How is this so many complaints?

I'm just curious--what do you use the sync toggle for? I've never wanted to turn that off, but maybe there's an advantage that I'm overlooking. Is it just for when you need to conserve battery charge or data transmission?
I'm having an issue. I'm running stock. Since the update, when I use the S-pen with chrome or google search the samsung keyboard crashes. Which causes chrome to crash. Any ideas on how I can fix it?

I use Elixir 2 for my widgets gives me alittle customizing .
I have seen a few other complaints but can't find the posts. Plus if you keep reading down the thread, there are people reporting problems. All these are enough to trigger a question.
I also sense some attitude in your post, I don't know where that comes from . I am simply asking a question, I don't know why that would upset people. If I offended you, my apologies.

We just don't get it. Old Xperia L could play it, but the S3 get's no love on the game for some reason,.
Its an issue with 4.3 on the S3 and I don't know why they haven't been able to fix it. I did get it to run a while back but had to install an older version that I knew worked because I used to run it
Yeah the older versions worked perfectly but the new one is not.

This new versions been out for a while. I dont think theyre doing a bug fix.
Ps: does anyone know how to disable the update notification in the old versions. i cant play with data/wifi on because it keep bugging me to update to the new version. it takes me to the market and as you know its "incompetible"
If enough people email the dev it might motivate them to fix it. Especially if everyone starts demanding refunds and leaving poor reviews. No guarantee of course, but its more guaranteed that nothing will happen if no one tries to make it happen!
In app manager most apps have a checkbox for display notifications. Maybe that'll help?

I downloaded it from gamelofts store the apk itself than the data. It worked flawlessly. However when I try to compete my brother on local wofi it doesn't show his device whether he created the game

[APP] Movie Mode

Hey what's up guys!
I have put together this app for those movie goers out there who don't like to be disturbed while watching a movie.
It's still in a beginning stage but works as I intended it to be for now.
The works:
This app is called "Movie Mode"
It's an app that works as a toggle. It has no user interface, You just put the icon on your home screen or wherever is easy for you to access.
Once clicked once it will activate and send your phone into vibrate mode, ignore all calls, and send the caller a text message simply saying:
"I'm watching a movie, I'll call you back after".
Then, after your movie is finished, you click the icon once more and it turns your sound back on and accepts calls again.
And that's it!
And if you have a Gear 2 smart watch you can add it through the launchgear app and be able to toggle from your smart watch.
If you enable notifications for the app you will recieve a quick notification on the watch saying either "Movie Mode ON" or "Movie Mode OFF"
Feel free to try it out and let me know what you all think about it! ?
Thank You
Credits:
rajah sulayman for the main idea,
my wife for letting me spam her phone trying to get it right ,
@JoeFCaputo113 for the help,
@lanewhit for the meeting mode idea.
@willowmaker420 and all those who attempted to help out :good: thank you!
INSTALL: Just install like any other app. Make sure unknown sources is checked in your settings.
DOWNLOAD
Changelog:
1.1 - Fixed some minor bugs, and added a permanent notification (when active) in status bar with disable button for quick access.
1.0 - initial release
........................................................
Other modes:
Meeting Mode
(works just like the "Movie Mode" it just changes "I'm watching a movie" to "I'm in a meeting"
This is a really cool idea. It would be awesome if you could make a "I'm in a meeting" version for those of us that would like what we are really doing to be on the downlow or even really in a meeting.

Also will update that icon for the app, I just kinda through it together for you to have. If you have any problems let me know ?

That is actually what I had in mind for a future update. Once I get the user interface all figured out, that's an idea I had to have custom modes for the user to enter their own text.
But for now it's just a toggle
Good job man!
My question to you is how did you make this into an app??

@JoeyDuran are there any additional plugins needed for this? You should put that in the OP
Edit: Also, I hope it is OK, I put your profile/app in my Tasker thread! http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s5/general/tasker-profiles-gs5-t2996112

No problem! If you like it, check OP for updated version.
Just download and install. it will install on top of the previous one, so no need to uninstall :good:
Nice work. Just one question. I installed it and enabled it but it says I'm in a meeting not movie. I checked and rechecked and did the movie apk.
It's pretty cool. Wonder if it could be added as a quick setting?

Sorry I had a little mix up while updating both apps. All fixed and OP updated
Also, about the quick setting. I don't think that would be possible because not everybody runs the same rom. So in order for it to be in the quick settings, the rom dev of whatever rom you're running would have to put it in so everybody has it.

Tested it out today and it works as advertised. Test call went to voice mail and it sent the text to the caller. Nice.

I would like to add this as a Notification tile in my CM12 build, do you have the source available anywhere publicly? I would obviously give credit where credit is due, let me know.
