This has happened to me too! You can turn it off under the settings.

Lol, the enthusiasm cracked me up.

Anyway to disable autorotate for homescreens only and not everything else?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I think Cyan's Rom allows that. Not sure otherwise. Do you use Spare Parts? It might have that option too.

hmmm wierd i dont see anything that only turns off homescreen auto rotate either, either you can turn if off completely or you can't kinda sucks, gets kinda annoying to wait for it to go back to portrait everytime you take it out of the pocket.

LOL thanks u saved my day
I cant get it to change my desnsity permanently. I checked the box saying "save density as system density" with a setting of 200 and it wont ever hold at 200 through a reboot. What can i do to fix this?
Part of the problem may be that the ET4G doesn't use an LCD display.

That is definately not a part of the problem. I used the program but I have never tried to make it stick on reboot.
Thanks for the input genta. Hope some one with the answer stumbles through this thread!
What specific app are you using? I use LCD Resolution from the market, and setting it to "always set on boot" definitely works for me on every rom I've tried so far.
Did you check in settings the save as system density?

I used LCD Density Changer. Im going to download and try using LCD Resolution. Thanks for the tip on the app. Hope the density size lasts a reboot.

I know you clicked it. I ment was was it still checked after you reboot to make sure it was still checked? Should have explained better. Could you use the widget to apply the density? You just click the widget and it sets your saved density? Better than having to go into it I guess.

That's good to know that the other works like intended. Myself, I have always been nervous about having it set on boot incase something wonky is going on. Did you happen to let the dev know about the issue with this device.

When using certain music apps (poweramp, stock sound player..) the vibration on the phone freaks out and just buzzes and pulses. I can't figure out what is causing it.
Please tell us some more information about the phone so we can help you.
For example, what ROM or Samsung touchwiz software are you on? Are you rooted?

I would try uninstalling all those music apps and then do some detective work and install each app one by one to see which app it is. Report back what you find out.

A shot in the dark here,,,,but go to /settings/sound/
Scroll to the bottom and disable "Auto Haptic" if it is enabled.

Right on right on.
Also.... it's not so obvious...but long pressing on that menu item/switch brings up a blacklist/whitelist to choose which apps will be affected by auto-haptic though I don't use it myself.
So I'm trying to figure some things out on my own, but one of which I cannot figure out.
So whenever my phone's battery reaches 5%, the brightness level is LOCKED onto the lowest possible brightness setting. I can't make it more, or less and it's really annoying.
I'm using stock rooted 4.1.2 with ktoonsz conservative kernel, nothing crazy.

Try using an app to control the brightness. Look for "Screen Adjuster" in the Play store, it may allow you to use a higher brightness at a low battery level.

Yeah but why does it do this at 5% anyway?

Most likely to conserve the last bit of energy it has left. So if you can't get to a charger right away, at least you'll have a tiny bit more of screen time

Yeah but during the day, the brightness gets so low that I can barely see it. I'd like to manually control the level of brightness and get rid of this "automatic" thing.

Yes I do. Obviously it's something out of the ordinary or else everyone would be complaining about it and it seems like it's just me.
I would agree with lakesoccer2 n just add an app to see if u can control it that way. One other thing, did you go into settings and click on display and then on brightness to see if the automatic box has a check in it? If you unchecked the box then you should be able to control your brightness. Hope this helps

I'm trying LuxAuto these days and I'll report back.
Before the screen shuts off on it's set timeout it dims. No idea why this is necessary since the screen will shortly time out anyway. Is there a way to remove the screen dimming before the screen shuts down or change the length of time before it dims ?
"SmartStay" (AKA NeverWorkedForMeStay) doesn't work at all for me. Maybe it's my glasses or maybe my ugly face scares it into shutting down but the point is how can I stop it from dimming before the screen shuts off? It just seems like such a useless and annoying "feature."
{Edited for clarity so as not to confuse people with too many questions]
The dimming gives you a chance to save the screen from turning off

Obviously I don't want to "save the screen from turning off", I want it to stay on or I wouldn't have posted the question.
That is not what your original question asked. You asked if you can get the screen to go off without dimming first. Now you are asking how to go into settings and adjust the display settings.

Obviously you didn't read beyond the first 20 or so words because beginning with "Is there a way ........." it actually asked the question I was interested in getting answered which no one has. The beginning was primarily a rant or more of a rhetorical question. If the system allows I will edit it for clarity.

I suggest using and app called keepscreen (search on XDA as the Google version is seriously outdated and I updated it) and with it you can set certain apps to keep the screen on indefinitely or until you turn it off. I love it.
