Basically you csn check, update, dump camera firmware. Though I haven't a clue where the dump is saved to!

Theres also a new camera firmware that you need to update manually, previously mine showed zdfe02 and now its updated to zdff03. To do so go to the dialer and type *#34971539# then hit “Phone / CAM FW Ver check” and if the phone FW is different than the cam FW you then hit "phone to cam FW write (rear)" and reboot.

Not sure if it will work with roms...

Are you using a custom dialer? Codes only work with stock dialer.
You could try *#*#xxxx#*#* as well.

I read somewhere that if you changed to XDMF1 , it's not that easy to come back to a previous baseband.
Can you tell me if it worked for you ?
Thank

DMF1 and DME4 are ok to swap between as they are both the newer ones. Any older need efs backups and a lot of hassle.
I am on [email protected] v12 which had DMF1 which I am pretty sure is Asian baseband and swapped for DME4 which is Europe.
Just make sure you backup your efs first just incase and nandroid backup too. Better to be safe than sorry.

OK in that case it's probably better if I keep the baseband DMF1, my phone is from HK and I'm in China.
But I don't know why, I have a battery drain when I switch on my data since I updated to DMF1.

The new baseband DMG1 (india) also works without problems.
I'm in UK and have found all 3 to be pretty much the same on H3G network.

Modem...
http://db.tt/bb8hnJhi
Just select the modem in the "modem" section of mobile odin and then hit "flash firmware at the bottom. It takes a few minutes to complete. (I thought mine crashed but then it rebooted after about 2 minutes and all was working).

The modem is one thing. A matching RIL is a second thing. You will need to get the matching RIL from the firmware from which the modem came from to get full compatibility. I'm not saying it's not gonna work but if you want to be safe you should get a hold of libsec-ril.so from the rom.

iWnnIME.apk Emoji Keyboard

The current 4.4.2 ROM from the Nexus 5 includes an updated Emoji keyboard (iWnnIME.apk).
The app for non-rooted users is modified with the required lib for the keyboard and is signed.
The app for rooted users is attached as a flashable zip.
I've only tested the non-rooted version (latest T-Mobile firmware for the S4) since my phone is not rooted, but both versions should work perfectly.
For non-rooted users, simply install from your phone as a normal apk.
(You will need to check Unknown Sources under Settings > More > Security > click Unknown Sources > read the warning, click OK)
For rooted users, either install the non-rooted .apk or flash the zip included below (iWnnIME.zip) in a custom recovery, such as ClockworkMod Recovery or TWRP.
Zip failed. Apk works fine. Beside the switch off from keyboard its coo.

Will do boss!!
I find it easier when you use Google keyboard. I just hold down the space key and the list of keyboards pop up. Pick iwinme and then when done hit cancel to go back to Google keyboard.

I can't say for sure that I know how to fix it, sorry.. but I do know there should be an AndroidEmoji.ttf file in system/fonts.. check if that is there. I'm running the app on stock ROM and it works fine.

Hangouts 2.0 in Google play store not updating

I'm trying to update my hangouts to 2.0 from Google play and it won't update to the latest version. I've cleared data and cache and still status in 1.2
Any help
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
I have the same problem. I think it has something to do with the rom and the GAPPS that was downloaded with the ROM. For example: I have AOKP 10/31/13 release and the GAPPS for that. The GAPPS are themed black so there is some sort of difference in the app and the one on the Play Store so it doesn't want to update.
Someone else shed some more info on this.
It is because the version you are using is from the gapps you installed. Uninstall that version and reboot then go install from play store. If you're wanting a black version, check out team blackouts app on the play store for blacked or cleared versions of google apps and much more.
But I have a stock ROM.

I think it's hit or miss. I'm running SlimRom 4.3, and my Hangouts updated to 2.0. My girlfriend is running the exact same rom on the exact same phone with the exact same Gapps, and hers shows the update but when downloaded, it's still the old version. Who knows.
Thanks for reply.
