I can't seem to get twitter to sync any tweets or ,mentions etc on my nexus 7. If I go to settings in the app the sync options for notifications is all blacked out. If I go through the settings menu on the tablet and go to twitter only thing I can do is "sync now". Any ideas?

Hello,
The first week I got my GN, Facebook notifications were working like a charm.
Lately they stopped working completly. Both Facebook and Facebook Messenger.
Is there a real push alternative rather than the intrigrated one? They always seem to fail somehow?

It's Facebook's fault, their apps suck.
Logout from the App and log back in and adjust your settings again. Sometimes that fixes it.
Tried logging in and out with no luck
Is anyone else experiensing the same problem?

I'm getting notifications just fine if you go into the app settings you can set notifications within facebook rather than on the phone. alternatively you can sign up for mobile alerts or email notifications on facebook website from your account settings .

Well, I dont like email spamming from Facebook. Thats why I turned them off.
I've set notifications ON only in the app itself. Never seen such settings on the phone.

Lol there aren't any on the phone I just wasn't sure if you thought there were. alternatively you can set up a new gmail account dedicated to your facebook and have notifications pushed there. Personally I just set a filter in my main gmail account 4 anything with the word facebook in the email address to go to a custom facebook label. I like to have access to those notifications in the event that comments are deleted or I need to refer to something. Although this means every time I get a facebook notification it's immediately followed by an email notification.

I've solved that by installing facebook messenger, works like it should within couple secs after a message is posted.
Ok so I'm watching an android vs ios videos and this guy using froyo did something. When he clicked on his contacts he had the option of viewing a contacts "history" "activities" and "media" that has been say uploaded to Facebook. Now when I go into contacts including the ones I've synced from Facebook. I don't have any of those tabs and it will only let me select history from the popup menu. Am I missing something here? Do these options still exist?

Seems like all my contacts have been deleted... wondering if the ROM has something to do or my account was hacked.?

I don't know how that would happen, but you should be able to restore your contacts if they are synched with Gmail. The contacts manager keeps backups for 30 days. Just go to the "More" menu and "Restore contacts".
I did that but I check my gmail account and there is not contacts there... I do not know what happen I email Google about it like 3 days ago and nothing on responds

Find Google+ and press "Clear data"
Should be fixed.

I like manually syncing my contacts and updating my Facebook contacts... So I've always leave auto Sync off.. But i messed around with it the other day and really like getting my emails synced automatically.
But the drain with having everything auto Synced is a killer.. Is there a way to just have my email auto synced or push notification and have everything else manual?

By the way I'm using the stock Gmail app if that helps

Go to settings, scroll down until you see Google, click on that, then click where it has your email (at the top) now check everything you want auto synced and uncheck the things you don't.. I only sync my contacts and email
