no you have not, maybe it will be possible when htc will release jellybean, that support usb host by itself, but there are no warranty that htc will implement it. i know that cm10 roms have this possibility, don't know about sense

CM10 for the HOX? As of now have this? Are you sure? Can you please link it?
I know there is a kernel that supports it, its in the original development. But not sure about CM10.
And yes you are right with the stock not having this option as of now.

[Q] Has anyone seen a ROM with USB Host for a controller?

Hello!!!
Ok so i've been looking, I've searched and still found nothing. Are any of the current rom's available built with USB host? If not, Is anyone working on it? as i will gladly test. Sadly my days of doing it my self are behind me but i have an idea i'd like to share but i require USB host to do it.
Need custom kernel to do this, and for a custom kernel we need to wait for HTC to release kernel source.

Apparently JB Maximus has this but you firstly have to jump the gun and update firmware to 1.28

NOTE: DO NOT FLASH THIS TO YOUR PHONE> IT WILL HARD BRICK!
this is for any dev that wants to try and port android jellybean to the s3 Tmobile version. they already ported it to the internationl version so i think that might make it a little easier. here is the OP in the international section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737449

Hmmm...
Wonder if we could take that ROM, change the updater-script to match our mounting points....then we just need a kernel....
Which we have one kernel already made. Not sure if it would work though.
If anyone would help set up a build environment that would work for our kernels and roms then I will gladly help and start learning.

I think we'd need a stock CM9 based kernel though. If I understand correctly.

Well, it shouldn't take too long. It may be possible to build a CM9 Kernel for our phones using parts of the stock kernel that we have access to.
Once the JB source is released, an S3 port might actually be viable. Otherwise it's essentially just flashing a gnex image and praying something/anything works.

a CM9 kernel shouldn't be needed, just a modded kernel for our specific phone from what i believe.
We know this, but it's more of an experiment. Also, it helps work out anything we may need to do early on with the modules and drivers

Why not take this ROM, change the updater-script for our mount points, remove the flashing of the boot.img, flash ROM then flash the kernel Roman release?
Think that would work?

It could, in theory. But we would need to work on the modules for anything to work. Could you post our mount points?
why does it have to be a cm9 kernel?
to be completely honest, as soon as we get a cm9 alpha, we will see some worth while stuff! but until then. TouchWiz it iz. We will have team kang's AOKP in no time im sure. i cant wait to see wuts to come. especially since this phone is at all the major carriers and they are all basically exactly the same! should be epic.

Connecting pendrive to HOX

Hi guys.
It's possible to connect pendrive to HOX via USB? Anyone tried?
I know it's possible to connect removable devices like pendrives and disks to Nexus 7 via USB. I'd like to do the same with One X.
If you know, please reply
Thanks

USB OTG(the ability to connecy USB drives and hard-drives) should be supported by the kernel. Unfortunately our kernel doesnt support this at the moment.. hopefully JB kernel will ..
So, there is a chance it will be posiible ;D good.
Are there custom kernels for ICS which allow connecting USB Drives? I don't know much about it, but maybe in some ROMs are they applied?
Yes, there are kernels that support host mode, but I'm not sure about OTG. At some point it was suggested that the phone can't supply power, but that may have been disproved. Oh look, a search button!
Could you give me name or link? I've searched for those kernels few times and I couldn't find anything..

No, because I can't remember, but I suspect it would be based on kernel 3.1 or newer, and contain "OTG" or "USB host" mode.
OK. Thank you for your help
If anyone knows good well-made kernel with this function, please inform me in this thread or PM
I don't know which custom kernel supports otg but with the sense jb roms the stock kernel supports it.

Really? You mean if I update my One X to official JB (when it will be released), then stock ROM will contain otg?

Hi,

It is the sk8erboy one. Sk8erboy is the maintainer for HTC One V Miui China. So yes it would be safe to flash. Just remember to use the CM10 Hellboy kernel.

Yep :/.
Sk8's MIUI v5 is the most smooth, I also find his HTC Sense based MIUI V4 smooth as well. Paarthdesai's MIUIv4 CyanogenMod 10 based it pretty smooth as well. But most MIUI ROMs are slow on the One V since it's only a mid-range device :/

I have try also with paranoid and AOKP (the one of the pink unicorn) but I havent achieve to install another rom to my phone.
One more question: I want to create a new back up but TWRP doesnt allow me because It appears a message related with MD5 image.
So should format my sd card?

Sorry for my late response, I have been pretty busy at work.
I dont know how to overclock my phone...
Just what I want is to reduce the lags of my phone either installing a new rom or making a factory reset (but this is my last option)
I tryied to install miui and AOKP but this looks they get into a boot loop...

I really like the ability to use the HTC logo as a button, but the only way i know how to do this is the slim bean rom. So my question is, anyway to get this function on a sense based rom? All info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Woah there!!!!!
OP DO NOT FLASH THOSE KERNELS!
You could brick!
Never flash anything that was not made specifically for your device. If you bother to read the first post in most of those threads they specifically say that Verizon and sprint are not supported.
Please do not post links to potential harmful threads.
We will have custom kernels as soon as HTC releases kernel source for our device. If you can't wait that long then a few of the AOSP ROMs have the HTC logo working as a button.
definitly not flashing any of those haha.
but thank you both for the responses

That is the kernel I using on cm10.2. of course, I'm on verizon.
VanirAOSP uses a custom kernel that allows the HTC Logo to be used as a sleep/wake button.
