It problably needs stock sammy framework.
Search in dev section for BNC rom, might be what you're looking for

Maybe the CM7 contacts app looks like the samsung one?

Hey everybody!
I got a lot of sgs2 apps (and widgets) on my mobile phone but in my opinion there is still one missing.
I really like the stock messaging app from the sgs2 so did anybody successfully ported this app to the sgs?
Waiting for your response!
Well, the F1 ROM should have this, due to its SGS II theme.
You could, in theory, extract the SMS app from that ROM and place it on your own phone.

Yes but I already got this ROM. It's fast and really great but I can't see any difference when using the messaging app. Maybe somebody could upload this apk from the original sgs2 ROM and I'll test it, if it works?

Hmmm... Then I have no idea.
Plus, I don't have an SGS II with root access, even though I'd obviously like to...

Hi!
Does someone know how to add CM7 features like the lockscreen styles on STOCK rom?
Thanks!
I think you can't do this. But you have some apps that let you personalize your lockscreen.
It's possible! I saw that on Emanon v5 ROM for galaxy mini..

More lockscreen types, performance options etc like CynaogenMod Settings.

Try BNC rom, its cm7+ stock

UOT kitchen or CM7 kitchen?
Uot
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
I've tried but I can't get the CM7 Ring lockstyle
UOT just themes the different lockscreens... they must be present in the ROM in the first place.
Ontopic, to have cyanogen features on stock rom, I think there are some stuff that must be built from source (like settings, framework), taking care not to break existing framework and apps from stock rom, meaning you should compile just bits and pieces and somehow merge it in the stock files.
Another way would be carefull porting by studying resource and smali for all files affected by a certain mod.
Thanks for the explanation
BNC-rom was a stock rom with cm7 features, but it's over at giocommunity now....

And then delete some stuff from cmparts
And only use the lovkmod options of it

Have you took care to port only lockscreen related code and files (not all differences between stock and cyanogen framework and apk's are extra features)? Not doing so may cause bugs, because there are some differences between how samsung built the frameworks and the aosp ones...
Anyway, nice job! As you may know, I was working also on porting the lockscreens for my rom, but gave up due to lack of time...
I would LOVE to be able to install the stock ICS email app on my GSII running ICS. I've used it on my Motorola Xoom, which runs essentially unaltered ICS. Is there any way to do this that does NOT require rooting and/or removing the Samsung app? I've already had one bad experience going down that road, unfortunately :-(
Thanks in advance, and apologies if this is a repeat.
this will help just a little...
i used an apk from either an amaze rom or one of the cm9 roms from sgs2 tmo.
cant remember,but one did work.
i do have an apk of the stock aosp mms that works (thinking i pulled it off the same rom it is dark themed).
if you find it let me know.
the one that worked installs without pushing into sys/apps,or overwriting tw stock email.
side note...
apollo player works (very cool)
desk clock works
video editor
torch
gallery 2
all work on unrooted.

Cool - I'll check it out! What tool can I use to separate APKs from ROMs?
root explorer.just extract all,go to extracted
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Looks like Root Explorer works when you've flashed your phone, which is what I'd like to avoid - is there a tool that lets you browse/extract the ROM on your desktop?
you can extract it without root.here ill post the apks i pulled.give me little while.

When Samsung puts out the Jellybean update for the S III, Will it come with touchwiz UI? Cause it came stock with TW on 4.0 so I was just wondering. Also can you get the touchwiz launcher on any of the JB roms out now?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Yes it will come with touchwhiz ui. And I'm pretty sure there's a tw launcher floating around somewhere here.
Ahh thank you sir, appreciate the quick response

so your saying you can apply the Launcher from TX to CM10?
Link's dead?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Let me upload it to a different server. I'm not compltely sure about tw launcher. Everytime i am about to try it a newer version of current rom would come out. Now im back on tw rom. I will post the link tomorrow. If launcher doesnt work i will remove from the zip. I was also planning on trying the one that was in sgs2 forum when i still used it.
Not matter what i'll Let ya know. Maybe If all works well well can trying to get a dev to make a cm10 tw rom. Lol

Have you actually tested any of these on CM10/AOKP, or did you just pull the APKs from stock? Because I'd be very surprised if they worked outside of a TouchWiz based ROM.

Someone posted these a while back. I just hung on to them. Most of them are not them actual tw verisons but they are nearly identical in every way.
I only used a select few: svoice, memo and task manager.
I have tried everything i could possibly think of and everything tw launcher i could find and they only work only ics. (cm9). Havent found one that works only jb (yet). Still searching. And i will see if i can find someone to make one from them i9300 jb leak.

Task manager works also with cm 10.1
I have been looking around for this and have found places that have the pretty much every other AOSP app up for download except this one. I am using a Stock based rom and I want to use the AOSP People app because it's a billion times better than the TW Contacts app.
Might anyone know where I can get this?
Rob
You haven't seen it because it won't work. Framework differences. If you don't believe Mr and want to try I will upload one for you and you can try

Thanks. I thought maybe since a lot of the other AOSP apps were ported over that this one would be too. Damn, i love the People contacts app. You don't have to post the app unless you think someone else can use it
Yeah only I don't know the word for it but maybe "material "apps like the camera and clock that arent actually necessary and it won't work because Samsung has for proprietary framework thanks reason we can't you Samsung camera on aosp ROMs sorry about that man but for future reference you can extract any of the APKs you want right out of any aosp ROM using root or solid explorer
Oh yeah must of the time there are libs to go with those FYI in case you go experimenting
