Is there anyway to use Laptop as HTC one x output?? - HTC One X

Hi, I have Sony Vaio laptop VPCEA3BFX, is there anyway to use my laptop as My HTC One x's HDMI output??
For more info about my laptop click here

Don't think there is, some laptops come with hdmi input ports, but I don't see that in the specs of yours.
I looked up to see if the possibility exists for a hdmi input to usb, doesn't look like they're very common/even exist
Somebody mentioned the bandwidth of usb isn't enough to cope with hdmi. So maybe usb 3 may show an adapter, but otherwise I think you're out of luck with this plan
Only thing you could do is streaming stuff over dlna for instance..

no you can't! it's impossible because any laptop has hdmi input... and it's not possible to use usb or something like this... only way for you is to use an external monitor with hdmi.. maybe exist some programm like teamviewer, but i never heard about

Hey Guyz my Laptop has HDMI port look, what's now?? still I can't??

That port is only for output, i.e. sending the laptop screen to an external monitor. It cannot receive any input from another device.

Ok, thank you guyz for your replay

[Q] Just ordered MHL-HDMI cable - will it transmit Spotify to my AV receiver?

I'm looking for a way to play both Spotify from my SGS2 through my Onkyo AV receiver to my speakers, as well as just play videos from my SGS2 through the Onkyo so that I can watch videos from sites like charlierose.com (which uses flowplayer), etc. on my TV.
Should this work? Anyone received their cable from play.com sooner than expected? Hoping it doesn't take the 1-2 weeks.
And what about this cable ?
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ca-156-usb-hdmi-adapter-cable-for-nokia-53688
It is for Nokia but Nokia also supports MHL so I assume it can be used for the Galxy S2 ??
That doesn't look like a MHL cable to me; the small end should have a 5-pin micro USB, and the MHL-to-HDMI conversion requires a bridge chip, which needs to be powered, which is why the other MHL adapters require you to plug in a charger.

[Q] will 3.5 mm to av out work in xperia arc?

I am planning to connect my xperia arc to optoma pk101 pico projector. Can I use a standard 3.5mm to av out cable for this purpose? if not which is an altenate way to connect my arc with the above said projector?
Pretty sure the Arc can only output via HDMI.
@vasigar
If you do end up trying it, do let us know if it works. Thanks.
Ive tried connecting with a 3.5mm to video on my tv and it didnt work, if your projector has a pc or dvi input you could try a hdmi-dvi adapter
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
Its an audio output only. You will have to use HDMI.

ya of course I know that 3.5 mm is an audio only port. But somewhere I read in the internet that there is a cable destined for this purpose. Like IM700 AV Cable from SE. There are some cables availabe in Ebay for xperia arc also. Like the one in this link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Sony-Ericsson-3-5mm-AV-TV-Out-Cable-Arc-/190560426334
can I use them.
please someone help. I wanna connect my phone with my new projector optoma Pk101 bought from ebay http://www.ebay.in/itm/iPod-Project...4?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_203&hash=item3a69e6bd16
I desperately need some way to connect ma phone. I ordered the projector without seeing properly if I can connect my phone to it. If no one helps then my projector will sit dumb in my house able to connect only with some old dvd players and tv tuners
is there something like this available for my arc

Not much anyone can do mate, the 3.5mm jack simply does not output video.

You may be able to use a HDMI to DVI/composite cable, so using the standrad HDMI cable that came with your phone which connects to the converter cable.
If your projecter has composite in or DVI in, it should work.
I can't post links so google "HDMI to Composite" or similar.

Micro USB to USB Host Cable Adapter

Hey guys. I bought this http://www.ebay.com/itm/10cm-OTG-Mi...737062?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5ae61d4ee6 and tried on my new HTC One X. It didn´t fit so I had to push on it little bit. After that I find out that on this **** product is some metal attact that I removed with my nail. I attached and force this **** to my lovely phone. Do you think I could damage the usb input of One X? Or shall I be worried? It works but I dont want to have it damaged..
So anyway, this **** doesnt work, so can you please help me to buy new micro USB to usb host adapter?
I am sorry for my english. Thanks
I dont think there`s a difference between brandings of the cable... looks like u`ve just had no luck
My one works good... used it to connect my PS3 Controller to the device.

Are you also able to use USB storage with it?
I tried the Samsung MicroUSB to USB adaptor and my One X refuses to recognize my Xbox360 controller
The One X doesn't support USB host, unfortunately, so external storage, controllers and keyboards will not work.

do u have a blackberry ??
or any Messenger that can make us communicate each other ?
You can connect a N2 to a projector with a Samsung MHL cable (most won't work dou to changed pin layout...), but your projector needs to have an HDMI or DVI-D input. VGA is analogue, HDMI digital. You will need a powered converter to connect these. And that's gonna cost you about $100.

Found this one on Newegg... If that's not where you live you can always search for 'HDMI to VGA converter'.

I actually bought that exact converter from amazon just a few weeks ago. If I can find an mhl cable here in sacramento today. I'll let you know how or if it works.
Would any micro usb to hdmi adapter work? Or does it have to be specifically that cable?

Well, the N2 uses a special pin layout, so... Yes, it needs to be one specifically for the N2 or S3 (same thing here).

Can I use MHL to display video output on my computer?

I have an acer aspire 7560, it does have an hdmi port, but I don't want to have to buy an adapter for something that I don't know would even work for video input. I want to know: is there some way that I can use a normal, oem supplied, usb cable for this and simply connect it to the computer, figure out some stuff on the ubuntu end, and just use my laptop as an external display?

Short answer: no
Explanation: your HDMI port is solely for outbound connections only, to a TV or monitor. There are very few laptops that have the ability to receive an HDMI input.
As for doing it with USB there are third party apps like BBQDroid and MirrorOp that will let you, but its nearly impractical for the Nexus. Trust me, I've been trying for over a year to get even the right ROM/kernel combo to maintain a reasonable lagfree experience using them and its hopeless. We don't have the power. Sure, you can do it. But don't expect to do anything without huge performance drops.
I have a new tv that supports hdmi, but it also has usb 2.0 in, and I do not have a hdmi mhl adapter. Would a normal oem cable work for that?

Nope. USB port on your TV is for connecting media devices with music/videos/pictures and does not support the feature your looking for.
I have had success using the Mirror for CM11 application by koush with Airserver on my PC. Info to get it here. You must join the community and beta before it shows up in Play Store.
It works over WiFi network so long as your PC has AirServer, which is an Apple app supposed to be for idevices but the app picks it up anyway. The free version of Airserver is only 7 day trial. It will slow your phone down somewhat, but not anywhere near as bad as other apps. I've used it some, and it works well. But it has limited use with only a trial for Airserver. Such a bummer there, but give it a shot for the 7 days and support it and koush if you it
Good luck
