I forget about that rule. Well, what is your battery usage graph saying is/are the top consumers? Usually it should go display>standby >idle. That's how mine usually is. Followed by my reddit app, xda, and browser. If the phone is awake much more than the screen is on, something is holding a massive wake lock.

Another batery drain issue (with ATI Imageon)

To reproduce this bug/feature you just have to start Core Player or TCPMP close it and measure battery usage, it goes up for 10-15 mAh and never go back to normal after you close it. My guess is that this is due ATI Imageon initialization which is normal but it is not normal to stay after you close player. It would be interesting to see results on Windows Mobile 5 because I'm using latest PV's WM6 ROM.
...wow...
can u try this with coreplayer ?
just finished at gym and noticed mine does this too with core player- not sure if it somehow increased the brightness of my trinity but after a soft reset the mA was still high so i checked brightness and it was on full- even though i never have it more than 50%...... Dropped back to 50% and its back to normal....
Sorry to borrow the thread for a sec.
I see a lot of posts where people post the Battery usage in mAh, I have been trying to search both google and this forum for an application that can do this, please could someone point me in the right direction?

[Q] How to completely disable all battery saving measures

Hi there,
when the battery goes below 15% the phone takes some measures in order to keep it lasts as long as possible. Some of them are:
you are not allowed to take photos/videos;
you are not allowed to play videos;
screen brightness is set to the lowest level;
you get a notification sound and a dialog message at 15%, 10% and 5% of the battery.
I am not even sure they are all, I wonder if I could get a complete list of them.
Now the point is: I don't want any of them! I don't care of saving power because I have a spare battery. I want my phone to work at its full potential until its last drop of power.
Honestly I would have expected to have an option to enable/disable this feature from the system settings, but apparently there is not.
I already know there is a mod to disable this saving battery feature for the camera app. My question is: do you know whether there is a specific mod, or a collection of tweaks, which allows one to disable all the battery saving measures for when it goes under 15%?
If you have a spare battery, I would suggest switching it when your first one gets to 15%—therefore avoiding all your problems. I don't believe it's healthy for a battery to sit idly while dead. Leave some juice in it; it'll last longer overall.
easy, use cm7
and post in the right efing section next time
cm7 has the battery warning dialogs as well. please correct me if they can be disabled, i haven't found a way to do so so far

Mmmh, that is a very interesting observation. I will generally follow this advice in the future, thanks.
Although most of the times I won't be draining the battery down to 0%, sometimes I probably will, so I would still like to be able to disable the battery saving measures.

I tried 7.1RC1 but abandoned it for the following reasons:
battery life seriously decreased;
could not disable camera shutter sound;
could not set 3:2 ratio to camera photos;
missed ThinkFree Office app
missed count down and stop watch
missed the wonderful Samsung Smart Alarm app
could not play many video files

Actually my true intention, as I was almost sure nobody had done it before, was to start from this question to discuss ways to do what I was asking and then develop a mod to do it.

[APP]Screen Filter. (Adjust your brightness of screen and save battery)

Hi guys.
I always feel that my display eats the most of my battery..I know what do you expect from S.AMOLED Plus displays..Gorgeous i know but eats your battery..Anyway great app on the market that i have started to use and it works wonders for me and would like to spread the word, if you don't already know about about this app..
Link is this https://market.android.com/details?id=com.haxor&hl=en
Apologies if you already have it, but i just thought if there are more people like myself who want to save a bit of juice on your battery this is a great app to use specially if your brightness is abit to much as well.
Cheers
very good for bedtime reading too and discreet enough not to annoy the missus. This is one of the first apps I install on every Rom change.

man this has boosted my battery life by 20%. so i saw people sharing apps that they recommend so i thought why not i do the same..if it helps others why not
thanks for posting
I liked it but found out that if set too low (as it is very efficient) it can be tricky to find the icon or anything else for that matter so eventually I stopped using it

You always get the icon on the top left hand corner. if you bring down the drop down menu you could access the app from there.

[Q] SlimBean Battery not so good with BBS

Hey guys I am currently in Canada and I am using a DTMO device but I am certainly not getting the kind of battery I was hoping for...here is my setup:
Device is always on airplane mode as I am out of the country
Running SlimBean Build6
BMS Kernel (newest)
Kernel settings:
Fifo/interactive with min= 384000 and max= 756000. The interactive governor has a hispeed_freq of 594000
As you can see I have butchered the capability of my S3 for better battery life as I don't game or anything but I am only getting 2.5 hours of screen on time on Automatic Brightness :/ (AIRPLANE MODE)
I have attached BBS images
I forgot to say, I also use Greenify to hibernate like 10+ apps including Maps, Zedge , Tapatalk etc
I was really hoping to break the 4 or maybe even 5 hour screen on time with airplane mode, and any help would be greatly appreciated!!

He says he did greenify maps in the OP, weird that it's still so hi. I just force stop it when ever I'm done using those kinda apps, music as well... with Airplane mode on and everything you should get more than 5 hours screen on time, I've seen people get that with signal. Weird stuff... what are your cpu states? might be another app causing wakelocks
Hey guys thanks for the response! My cpu states in BBS are weird but I here is the one from both BBS and trickstermod!
That is crazy weird. I would FULL wipe system Factory Reset and caches and maybe even wipe sdcards after back up of things. Do not restore system apps from TiBu or what ever you use to restore things. That is not at all normal or what would cause your battery life.

Aw okay I suppose I should do that. Should I stick with the same Rom? SlimBean has been good to me but are there any others Rom/Kernel combos that are good/better than my current setup for battery life? RC5 of Cyanogenmod maybe?
Thanks again!
You say you Greenified Maps. But is it actually hibernated?

Thanks but I don't think thats the best solution. I have butchered my phone in terms of performance and now I have to disable/freeze one of the most important apps of Android? I don't know doesnt seem right to me :/ Phone is useless without maps
Just do what I said, I don't freeze my maps and it doesn't act like that so I suggest wipe and reinstall things normally. I wouldn't suggest a specific ROM I have run build 6 and didn't have any serious issues on stock kernel.

It's not a permanent solution. My theory is that another app you are using is forcing it to launch. This would explain why Greenify isn't helping.
Okay I'm downloading RootBox and BMS Kernel to see how things go on a fresh clean install with no apps (no maps) and test it overnight on airplane mode.
Aerowinder I am afraid you may be right, I'll have to double check that on the new formatted rom to see whats up. I'll post pics tomorrow once I leave it on overnight Thanks for the help thus far!
No problem. 10-1 its another app and more so it will be gone without maps and possibly back after you reinstall maps. The fun of playing with your phone lol.

Hey guys so I reinstalled slim bean with a clean install, greenified just about everything and have bms kernel running on interactive. It seems things are fine except the phone doesn't actually go into deep sleep so I lose 2% an hour on airplane mode which I feel is quite a lot! Herr is a bus! As you can see during the 5 hours or so I didn't use the phone, the phone is not in deep sleep! Help would be greatly appreciated!

E98x LP Battery issues Potentially resolved

Hi All I am Posting my results, I need a few ppl who could help and see if this is going to help everyone or only me
And to the critics, I will be doing a screen on time (SOT, ppl are asking and not getting answered) test, I am as eager to fix this so if you would like me to run anything while the screen is on, please let me know
An hour ago i put brightness at 100 while battery was at 50% been browsing the net with chrome using mobile data and it dropped to about 10%. Much less heat than expected although brightness was limited to 84 at some point. Will do a 50 brightness test tomorrow from full charge but wont be touching the phone much
Steps to Follow to give me info
Hi Guys,
Had a bit of time, this is the info I need, hopefully I will get responses from a view e98x variants, even other LGs would be great but please specify the details of your phone.
Download Battery Doctor from the Play Store google dot com/store/apps/details?id=com.ijinshan.kbatterydoctor_en&hl=en
Get it running , opened, etc and then look at the app usage info (scroll down) for the last 24 hours (seen in screenshot attached)
When opened please send me the screenshot or the the list of draining APPS, I have hidden my top drainer that consumed 98% of my battery in the other attached screenshot. At the time of my screenshot I have not uploaded, it has used 34% of my battery and has been disabed for 19 hours. I cannot yet suggest the name or anyone to do anything with the service yet as I am still attempting to find out what breaks (so far nothing.)
I will send battery updates as far as I can.
Another Test
So the next thing I have done is charge full again, set the brightness to 50% and played Hearthstone for 3 Hours, I am personally pleased with the results as i could not achieve 3 Hours with the Phone before.
i get 3.5-4.5 hours screen from 100%
with [ROM][5.0.2]STOCK LOLLIPOP G.PRO V1.5 of bountyman334
with few modification mostly removing system apps
hello
Can you explain me what should I do to improve the battery life?
I never could have more than two hours of charge with brightness set to 100%.
sorry for my bad english

Can you follow post 2 and send me the details, The item I disabled eventually disabled my MTP and USB Tethering, as it doesnt bother me yet, I am yet to attempt tpo fix it. I would Highly recommend 30 - 60% brightness, anything more seems to not have a major impact on brightness, it just reduces battery life and cause heat, which reduces the maximum charge of the battery in future

Hi brunosp7, the app I expect to see is not listed, this is a good thing, however viewing the list, it appears that some apps remain open after use. do you have an app that keeps backround apps in check, something like this battery doctor or clean master?
