I have two phones one Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 4.0.3 and the other Samsung Galaxy S3 with Android 4.0.4. The Tamil words / fonts are not properly displayed in Galaxy S3. Previously in Galaxy S3 was running with Android 4.0.3. Later it got upgraded to 4.0.4 using Samsung updates.com with the latest update for India (INU) ROM. I have both the phones roted. I have checked the Fonts folder of both the phones. Both has the same fonts installed (Lohit Tamil). However Galaxy S3 has in addition to Lohit Tamil it also has Samsung Tamil. I copied the fonts folder from Galaxy S2 to S3 after deleting the existing fonts folder of S3. But still no improvement. I contacted Samsung India Service, who could not help as they were repeatedly insisted that you cannot see the fonts through myfiles folder. I informed that the issue is something related to rendering of display. They could not help.
I am enclosing the screen shots of message display screen of both Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S3 of the same words.
Can any one help me on this.
Thanks in advance.
I think its because of the change in DPI. Upload the font folder, I'll try to install in CM9 and see what i come up with. Also tell me the folder path where the font files have to be copied.
I am not if this helps but works fine for me

The fonts have to be copied to /system.
In System folder you have to copy the fonts folder.
I am enclosing the Fonts folder along with this.

Have you tried typing in a message or in the Facebook etc. Web pages would be displayed properly. If you copy a sentence from the Tamil web page and paste it in the messages or Facebook status update and see. Then it is not displayed properly.
Even tho i speak tamil. i never use tamil fonts. Someone metioned tht the dpi must've changed, tht might be true. check and see.

If your device is rooted put the above file under system/app
go to live wallpapers and select mywater
Do not try to install the apk it will not work, you have to move it into the system/app folder.
Here is a signed version, haven't tried it but should work for non rooted users. Just install the apk.

whoa....I want that also....the gingerbread one though, way better than the samsung one
I hate the Samsung keyboards, as the comma is hidden!
Why on earth would they make it so difficult to use a comma?
Try Swype, you'll love it after a while!
the Samsung keyboard uses some classes from touch wiz, so I am not sure how easy it will be to export it to galaxy s..
I have attached a ZIP file, including, the keyboard APK and ODEX, and the touch wiz framework JAR.
although I think that you will need to dex the odex file intigrate it with the APK, and probably also need some of the framework classes from touchwiz JAR..
I am not sure if I can help you any further with this, but I can atleast give it a try if you have any questions..
I don't use touchwizz, i use a blue gingerbread launcher, can i install the galaxy SII keyboard?
i see people downloaded it, does it work??

It is not important that you use another launcher, it is important whether or not you have installed another ROM on your device.
even though you have installed another launcher, TouchWiz is still running in the background..
I dont have an Galaxy S(1), so I can't directly help you achieve your goal,
I can try to edit the APK file, and include the classes that it needs, but you will have to try it on your phone, without I have tested it first. (it shouldn't be necessary to be root)
but first of, someone have downloaded the files, so maybe someone can reply if it worked or not..

I have changed some of the settings on the original Samsung Keyboard for Galaxy SII
now it shows a comma, instead of dot.
and I just use double space to make a dot.
I have the files to get it working on a galaxy S2, not sure if they will work on any other devices, and you need to be root.

Nice! But I would like the comma on the left side of the space, and the dot (punctuation mark) on the right side So I'm sticking with Steven Lin's Gingerbread Keyboard for now.
BUMP
Has anyone actually got this working?
I would reather see keyboard from LG Optimus 2X to get ported then Galaxy S 2 (=
Try this for the LG keyboard

It crashes before loading when i try to select it. Is there anyone that has a working version or can anyone report that it works on their Galaxy S2 ? Thanks

I'm suffering the same problem as well. I contacted the samsung apps, but no one replies.
that wallpaper is really amazing
help please
some dev can port it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
yes the ace users also want this live wallpaper .... so we r with u
+1. Me too !
I have an evo shift, and I loved this wallpaper as well when I had android 2.2. Unfortunately, when I upgraded to 2.3.3 it stopped working, same force close error. I read somewhere else that this is because the libraries that this wallpaper uses are incompatible with android 2.3.... Also, because I am not a developer and know nothing about programming these things, I have no idea what that means or how to fix it. I'm hoping that somebody can get this wallpaper working on 2.3 soon, because it is beautiful and I would love to be able to use it again.
Great substitute for Ovean Waves live wallpaper
Since I haven't been able to find a working version either, I came up with a substitute.
Install Touch Ripples from app market. Be sure to get the paid app so you can change the background picture.
Set ocean waves.jpg (attached) as background within the wallpaper app. Move the size sliders (at top) all the way to the right for the best picture.
You'll want to play with the settings to get the ripples just right. At least we can have a look-a-like until samsung updates the wallpaper app.
+1 for ocean waves
This is the best live wallpaper
It rocks very very nice wallpaper, thanks!
I miss all of the SGS wallpapers. This, Aurora and Blue Sea

This and Beach live too!!!
I miss those wallpapers too!
Ive loved the Samsung LWP since the original Galaxy S...essentially the issue with many of these ported Samsung LWP is that they do not work at all on 2.3 and will only work with 2.2. I have tried several ways to try to install them however as far as I know looking at other threads regarding to these LWP is that the Samsung LWP was relatively integrated into their framework, in part with TouchWiz, therefore cannot be ported easily. HTC Sense is also relatively the same with only one that I know of which works perfect with 2.3 but requires relative changes to the root of the phone (does not work on Samsung but worked on all other HTCs). All the others FC unfortunately.
Koi free live wallpaper is equally good and its free.
Nice water effect.

Hello Guys,
This can be worked in ODEXED build roms only. The name of Wallpaper is "Secretwallpaper1.apk" with a odex file(I have renamed to .txt, please rename to .odex extn). Find the attached file & push both files in /System/app with rights of -rw-r--r--. then reboot.
If anyone can Deodexed the apk then it will be wonderful.
Hope it will work.
Has anyone managed to permanently change the DPI on Note 2? I have tried two applications from Play and both ended up with the phone hanging on the boot logo. Had to flash the ROM again in order to have the phone working again. My Note is rooted and running Revolution HD.
EDIT: Solved. Edited the build.prop file which had the DPI setting in two separate lines due to a custom ROM - I should guess that the DPI changer applications only edit one line.
The LCD Density lines? What did you change them to? And how're you finding the changes? Any probs at all?
Yes there was the LCD density on two separate lines on the build.prop file. So both of them must be edited.
I changed them to 241, because anything under 240 makes the ADW Launcher show a line on the top of the home screen which is very annoying. I haven't been using the phone much yet so can't really say anything about problems - the only noticeable thing so far is the dialer that looks stupid since it doesn't scale correctly.
Ahh I see. Thanks, let me experiment
I am to believe that Rom toolbox (market) does the Job as well without crashing the rom, doesn't it ? What about s-Note & stuff? It's Not usable anymore, right?

Didn't you get any Samsung keyboard crash? That's my main concern right now, if you don't I want to know why!!!
As for the small buttons is various apps (Samsung apps only, how surprising ) this can be fixed be recompiling the apps with select changes.
Yes the Samsung kb is not working. I'm using a different kb so no problem there.
The main problem now is that the Play Store was working fine until now. I changed the DPI once again and now Play is only showing just a few apps. I changed the DPI back to the one I was using earlier but still the same problem. I cleared the Play data and cache but that did not help.
Pffft, still waiting for the ParanoidAndroid...

hi . i tried finding a dark keyboard and though i did find it, it came from the galaxy tab series it wont port over . i tried changing dpi . it will actually lay out if set at stock tab dpi which was somthing rediculously to small on note 4 screen to ever be usable. in the end i bought this one from the playstore for $2.50. thats kinda high in my opinion for a keyboard so i extracted it and am linking it to you via drive for "potential future purchase assessment". it has a ton of themes the third is galaxy tab and it is identical to the samsung one you seek . https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B58HhxpcWf9XcDltLTViME5pQ2s/view?usp=drivesdk . its not perfect but it looks like it is lmfao:victory: p.s. i looked for the actual sammie one i ripped from tab but i must have trashed it . if you want to try you just need the apk (samsunglatinime.apk) the libraries are the same as white and grey board. use a file manager set your system file to r/w rename the current board samsunglatinime.apk.bak copy new board into folder with old one change permission to 644 and reboot . it will fc until you change dpi to tablet ....i forget you will have to check tab specs . you just want to change app dpi not note 4 so you need xposed and app settings . if you by some miracle stumble upon a usable dpi (i mean a dpi that lays it out so u can use it easily day to day) id be real interested.p.s.s !!!!!!a backup keyboard is required the sammie wont work .
