From what I understand....The Faux kernal doesn't support custom boot animations. & the lockscreen wallpaper is changeable you just gotta try harder I don't have my android phone with me so I can't really walk you through it lol
The person above is correct. As long as you're using Faux's kernel, you can't use a boot animation. For the lock screen, go under settings-display to change the wallpaper.

You could run TDJ's kernel and that would allow you to change the boot animation but ptmr3 has stated his rom is built around faux's kernel and some have reported problems running any others. I ran TDJ's venom on jedi V4 for a couple days, it was jumpy at places but I wouldn't say I had problems.
I'm not a fan of the 'rocket android' either but it's worth sitting through for the smoothness of Jedi... just my opinion.

Sorry I didn't say earlier. I just looked for a stock galaxy s2 zip and found a tutorial telling me how to do it and then flashed zip on recovery. After that clear cache and dalvik.
This isn't the flashable zip but the site has an easy walkthrough. And that's how it's done.
s2tip.blogspot.com/2012/04/bootanimation-original-standard-stock.html
It's just a boot animation so the model number doesn't matter. it should work. Just remember to nandroid back up before hand just invade you do something wrong and get into a boot loop. Let me know if it works! And don't forget to thank of I helped. and if I didn't help, I will until I do. I'm just like that lol

I installed Goatrip's ROM which includes the new boot and shutdown from the SGS2. If I flash this, will that screw anything up? I would like to get the new battery charging thing but just want to make sure I won't encounter any problems installing it.

Before install please take a look into your ROM, if you have the same files inside your ROM then this would simply replace it with new ones, nothing to lose
Can you post screenshots please? I would like to be certain what it is exactly.
WORKS GREAT HERE THX !
yeah, screenshots pls

I checked it already, looks really nice. First a space scene with stars then this forms into the Samsung logo. Don't know how else to describe it. Had 1 FC on start and eventually restored back to my normal setup with nandroid.

Do you remmember lockscreen animation in XP 2.3.3? Very nice and looking like a TV shuting down.
So, in 2.3.4 we now get a very simple lockscreen animation... Is it possible to install the old one from 2.3.3 in this?
Thanks in advance for your help
Did you... try backing up the 2.3.3 one with Titanium Backup, then restoring it after upgrading?

What to backup? Isn't the screen-off animation hidden deep withing the system somehow? I wouldn't have any idea how to transfer it to another version unfortunately.
Personally I like the one in 2.3.4 better. It has a nice smooth touch to it. I've grown so so tired of the CRT animation and everyone has it as it's standard feature in android 2.3 as far as I know.

It's plainly listed in Titanium Backup as "com.sonyericsson.shutdownanim"...
EDIT: Or maybe not, freezing it did nothing, the animation still shows... so what the heck is that app for lol

It's not a CWM flashable zip, you can install it by placing it in /system/media/bootanimation.zip to do this you should remount /system/ as writable (or use a root explorer).

Too bad their current logo doesn't really match with the new style, maybe if you go for a lighter font like they did on the original image. (http ://cdn. androidpolice .com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/debut11.png)

figured id throw this out there for people who arent running a custom rom/kernel that supports bootanimation.zip. i got tired of the annoying tmobile bootanimation and sound, so i grabbed the boot animation from the international version. heres what i did...
*Reminder: you have to be rooted to do this*
1. download THIS zip file and unzip
2. navigate to /system/media and replace bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg with the files from the zip
3. navigate to /system/media/video/shutdown and replace shutdown.qmg with the one from the zip
4. reboot and enjoy!
*optional*
if you want to remove the startup/shutdown sounds do this:
navigate to /system/media/audio/ui and delete these 3 files (or rename with .bak at the end of the file name): PowerOff.ogg, PowerOff.wav and PowerOn.ogg
*Option 2* flash the zip below in recovery, thanks to cybrnook!

No worries
Since I don't have an SGS3 yet I wasn't even sure what the boot up looked like myself. Honestly I'm surprised the international version doesn't have the nice Samsung Galaxy S logo with the S pulsating.
Thanks I ws tired of the T-Mobile one too

Anyone know where I can find a GS2 scaled version of this? Ive used the pulsating S one but it lags a bit, they have updated the speed of it but its only in bootanimation.zip and I use stock kernel that doesnt support that.. and i think this one is plain and simple than the pulsating one.. or if anyone know if this could work since its not all over the screen, only center animation.. thank you.

Hi Guys, how I can make the stock ROM to accept bootanimation.zip or make an qmg file? Thanks!!
Hello Everyone,
I recently downloaded the "ROM Toolbox Pro" app onto my HTC One V. At first I wasnt sure of all the things you can modify your phone with, but after looking and playing around for a few hours I got the idea. I noticed that you can change your [3G] icon to different colors and so forth for other icons on your phone. When I reboot the phone after applying a new boot logo, and Icon it didnt work at all. My first thought was that maybe you cannot modify anything with the Stock ROM? If anyone can tell me any information about this, that would be wonderful!
Also if I need to switch my ROM to something else, can someone please send me a link to a good ROM for the HTC One V that doesnt have any issues, and the full setup on how to do it? That would be wonderful!
Thanks alot,

First it would be helpful to know if u primoc (us) or primou, that way u can be told were too look but here is a guide on lots of stuff,
How to flash a custom kernel and rom

Link to primoc ROM provisions rolleyes:) 4.1.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098618b
People say it is a daily user read the op
Here is codefirex primoc this is a full jb 4.2.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2152960
One major problem to some no camera since it's kernel is ion based. I like this room a little more to cm10.1
If u are primou I'll provide u links if u like as always read tutorials and the instructions in the developers ROMs introduction post of what ever ROM u choose. Some ROMs have a little different way of that rom being flashed in order for it to work. As always i am in no way at fault for any thing or way that u may totally f up ur phone during the process of flashing my ROM or any other ROM/kernel.
Good luck and welcome to xda

Boot Animation - Install

Worse, the Boot Animation and Randomizer won't let me change the boot animation any longer. It was working (especially when I had the standalone Boot Animation app). Not sure what happened?
