Best car charger? - Galaxy S III Accessories

So which car charger do you guys recommend for the S3 that has AC charging enabled?

rapid charger at up to 1A. best car charger on the market, especially for the price.

Does anyone know where to get a USB coil cord that would fit into this?

Personally I have the wireless charging mod done and in my car use a Palm Pre Touchstone as a charger. It looks incredibly good and clean.
It is NOT the fastest charger however (only about 500mah charge rate).
If you want the fastest charging, I would get one of the ipad car chargers. 2.1 amps of charge power will more than juice your phone.
Personally, I recommend the Griffin one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GRIFFIN-POW...ccessories&hash=item3a779d867b#ht_2277wt_1166
You may be able to find it cheaper somewhere.

I've read in a few places that rapid charging isn't good for our batteries. Any truth to that?

The phone will only take 1 amp regardless of the charger being 2 amps. Buy a well built one and you'll be fine, they all charge the same provided they are 1 amp.

Walgreen's $5 5v 1A usb. Compact and charges like a boss. I've used it for about 3 weeks and I don't have any issues with it. It doesn't heat up my phone at all.

no such thing a rapid charging as the phone draws what it needs.. by "rapid" it just means it supports up to 1A charge rates..

+1 for this, I've been using this for ALL of my Android phones.

A lot of people seem to recommend that Motorola charger in these forums for various devices. I think I'm going to order one.

The Moto car charger has decent reviews on Amazon.
There any others recommendations of car chargers ?

Be careful. Bought a cheap one and found it sent dirty power that introduced noise into the audio out on my car dock.

I cant find the link but there is a 3 amp chager in the tmobile store its expensive but worth it.. a 15 minute drive gave me a 23% boost

I bought that bad boy. The build quality is awesome. You can twist off the cap and replace the fuse if it's blown. Unlike some other chargers you have to pry it out and possibly break it. This one can charge up to 3.1 amp on one usb port for tablets and 1.0 amp on the other port cell phones. Yes by default my phone was charging in AC mode with my sam captivate. Then i decided to modify it from one of users tip on there for permanent AC charging. No issues so far.

[Q] Car Air Vent Holder / 2A Cigarette Charger

Hello,
I had both these items with my old i9000 which I included when I sold it.
Looking to get a fitted air vent holder for my dashboard, as well as a car charger.
Based on past experience with the i9000, the car charger needs to be a 2A charger so I can charge the phone faster, as well as have it keep charging with the screen on for navigation. (and yes, I am aware a higher amperage could potentially wear the battery, happy to take the risk )
I got the original 2A charger from dealsextreme, but I can only see weaker/crappier chargers for sale on there at the moment. A brief search of ebay hasnt shown any moulded/fitted holders yet.
Ideas?
The official Samsung car charger CAD300Ube is at 0.7amps. I've seen aftermarket chargers at 1a but I havent seen any at 2 amps
I just picked up the Rockfish premium charger that is 2A. Haven't true it yet though.

I got a dual-port car charger from dealextreme and plugged a USB cable into the "ipad" port. It charges my SGS2 well and I do not notice any battery drain while I'm on a road trip using the SGS2 as GPS navigator. Well worth the $2 I paid for it.
I used one of these on my i9000 and will be getting one for my i9001
You can see the vent part you need to the right of the holder

I bought a supposed 2 amp charger from deal extreme a while back. It wasn't 2amp. If you get one, test it to see what it actually puts through. The one I got was only .5 amp even though it was advertised as 2 amp.
How to check amp output? I have a 1A charger which can't charge my phone while navigating. Might buy another charger but first want to check if it isn't limited by the phone itself.

When I did it, it was on a Touch HD. I ran a couple of different battery monitor programs to see what it was pulling in. I found that almost every car charger (about 8 or 9 ) I tried was only 0.5 amp...some claimed 1amp some claimed 2amp, most claimed 0.5.

[Q] New Android Convert From Crapple. Please Help Me Find Chargers!!!

So no matter where I look, I cannot find good chargers for my GN2. Here I was thinking that I'd be able to use my 10+ white brick crapple charging blocks at 1A and here my awesome GN2 uses a 2A.
Now I understand that Apple swayed away from yet another standard and the pins need to be shorted in almost all car chargers in order for anything other than an apple device to accept an AC charge. Awesome.
I'm very happy that this huge battery needs a 2A charger but I'm back at square one. I need chargers... I need a lot. Please somebody point me in the right direction on what every android peep is doing to charge their phones on fast chargers... I am mostly in need of a car charger. Every forum I look at, the thread ends with no definitive answer...
Much thanks.

This is the charger that I use for my car charging needs. Ive had it for a couple if years and it has worked flawlessly. It also has an extra usb port for charging a 2nd device. I havent had any quality issues with mine like some of the reviewers have claimed. This works brilliantly with my Note 2. It can output up to 4 amps and charges 2 Note 2's with max screen brightness and GPS with no problem.

u have to ask but radio shack has a decent one and they are having a sale. and no i dont work for them lol. its a 2A 4port charger. also keep in mind the 1A will work its just not a rapid charger. as an over night charger it will still have enough.

HTC One Charger

Can anyone recommend a charger that actually works and charges the HTC One? I ordered an "OEM Charger" from Amazon and it did not work. Now after reading a bunch of reviews for whatever charger I find, people claim that those chargers dont work.

I have used multiple chargers that I had with Nokia devices and in car I three different "no name" chargers, all of them work as should. With one Nokia charger I get notification that tells that charging isn't that fast as it could with different charger.
I've used the chargers I had from my Samsung Epic. They work fine. Also, the iHome two port usb wall charger I got at Wal-Mart does great with one of the cables I still had laying around. Sometimes I use the charger at work that came with our Kyocera DirectConnect phones.
I think the key is just to make sure any charger you use is at least 1amp.

I'd order a charger from ebay, and it takes about 6 hours to charge the phone.
Also, something is wrong because when I pick up the phone, I feel something weird on the speaker.
So I recommend to use the original one ! It takes less than 3 hours to charge the phone.
I use the one from my old s3. Actually charges faster than the original

Any wall charger with a 1A (Amp) output will be ideal for the One. A lot of the "rapid" chargers have about a 500 - 650mA (milliamp) output (about half of the power of the genuine charger). It won't do any damage if it's lower than 1A, but it will take a lot longer to charge it.
Don't be cheap on chargers though, the cheaper the charger, the more likely it will be to fail after a month, and potentially damage your charging port.
Thanks for the responses! I will look into chargers with 1.0 A charging, I have been using an LG charger that my dad had laying around.
I am no fan of verizion at all and didn't feel like driving to my local att store so..
I bought a 5v/2.1amp Verizon charger for 15$
6' long cord with an led light at the tip to help light up the usb port on the phone when trying to plug in. Also the base has an led light which lights up to let you know when the device is fully charged

False. Current is taken, not given, meaning the phone only pulls 1 amp from a 2A charger. I have verified this personally using Battery Monitor Widget. It displays the current charge/discharge current and reads 1A with my 2A charger.
I'm surprised so many people have problems with chargers. I have used Samsung, Asus, and some random Walmart chargers, and they all have worked at 1A. Maybe the people with problems are using really crappy or broken chargers?
I've been using an LG Charger, 4.8V and 1.0 A.
As far as i know, it doesn't really matter if its 1 or 2 amp, since its just the max output and it depends on the phone to use a certain ammount of amps. Voltage is what is important when it comes to providing a secure charging i think.

Best/most reliable wall charger?

Every charger I use, breaks when I'm using my phone and charging.
So, is there any chargers that you guys recommend?

I personally use a 4 port Antec charger. Works quite well for charging everything I have.
i like the Antec too.
Because the Samsung wall Charger is broken I buyed a new one from Blackberry: http://www.amazon.de/BlackBerry-Pla...94529&sr=8-1&keywords=blackberry+ladegerät+2A
And now I'm verry happy with this one! I use it for all mobile phones with micro USB which we have @home
Ive been using all the micro usb chargers ive had since the days of my palm pixi, and all phone in between. Never have had any bad luck with any of them.

I've never had a wall charger break on me. I use older Samsung, LG and Blackberry micro-usb wall chargers without any issues. I actually only use the stock charger that came with the S3 as the micro-usb cable for my pc since I heard it's best to use the stock cable whenever you use Odin and I figure I may as well use it for phone to pc data transfers as well..
Did you guys ever tryed wireless charging?
Is this as good as a wall charger?
Well I did not even pick out wall charger from the box.
I have docking station near computer + audio docking station in bedroom and my phone is always charged when I need it.

Is this charger able to charge tablets. As far as I know, some tablets needs 12V output to be charged. For example Asus Transformer prime.
I got this one some time ago for my car. It's a kit with a wall and a car charger with 2 usb outlets from energizer. It does say it's for samsungs but this has charged just about anything (iphones, ipads, other phones, etc) that also had broken chargers, has never let me down for a few years now.
Both output 5V on 1A.
Haven't found a pic from the wall one, only the car charger.

I personally find wireless is slightly slower than wired, but it lets me keep my lifeproof case all sealed up all the time rather than wearing tjr seal, so it's perfectly worth the extra waiting.

using chargers with a higher amperage may not necessarily affect the battery immensely
however negative effects may be noticed over longer periods of time (battery swelling, accelerated loss of charge)

I would love to consider wireless charging but I'm still searching on what options are available. For now I switch between my original samsung charger and the Blackberry one. I hate the Samsung one because it slips out at any slight movement.

Looking for a full speed car charger

I'm looking for a charger that will charge my Nexus 5 at full speed. I've tried a Griffin charger as well as a Monoprice charger and both are recognized as Charging (USB) by my Nexus 5. I assume they are designed for "proper" use with an iPhone, which I know can cause those issues. I am aware of the option to short the pins on the charger, but I would really rather buy one that works properly out of the box. Does anyone have any recommendations? I searched, but everything seems to be able using a wireless charger in your car.
I have the one like this http://m.ebay.com/itm/231122308378?nav=Search used it on my Motorola and now with nexus 5 shows as charging AC
This one is awesome actually. Motorola makes the best rapid car chargers. The quality of the build is phenomenal.

Those two look like they are very high profile chargers. I know I didn't specify this, but I would prefer something a little less bulky. Also, they are under 1A while the Nexus 5 charger is 1.2A. Still better than the 500mA I'm getting currently.

I use the 18W 3.6A version of this Anker Car charger. But seeing as the 24W is $9.99 while the 18W is $8.99, might as well get the higher output one (supplies one 2.4A Apple port, and one 2.4A Android port). Here in Canada the 18W is $19.99, 24W is $21.99....
They have full Android support, so it allows full speed AC charging if you have a good USB cable. They also have versions with a built in cable, but I prefer to use my own because if the built in one breaks, you're kinda screwed.
The 18W 3.6A car charger I have charges the Nexus 5 at around 1100mA (with a good USB cable). That's perfect to still charge the phone while simultaneously using navigation, streaming music, etc.
Have you tried different cables? I'm finding the quality difference between cables makes a difference in the charging rate.
I bought an att one years ago and it's the fastest charger I've ever used in my car. You can get it on amazon for about $8 shipped.
