I have the v1520. Been searching for almost a week now in various forums, how to unhide the EXT ROM. Been trying every registry setting and unlocking tool and/or other trick there is and that I could find. Been asking senior members here who refer in other posts like they knew something but they don't want to answer anything (that's not polite I think). So far - no luck.
So the question to the public is - how the £%€# does one unhide the the EXT ROM of ASUS P550 / Vodafone v1520 ?
The reason I'm started this quest is that my in-call volume cannot be adjusted (it's too loud). I think it might be one of the provider cabs. So if anyone has one of these devices and either has or has not the in-call volume working/not working, please share info.
Could anyone please comment even on the volume issue?

There is Icon with green tree in Settings menu - search for it!

3 key press together for re-start:
G2 (Dial sim card 2 key) + Camera key (on the right side, near the on/off key) + on/off key.

how's the sound quality of your phone?
i have a problem with phone 1, it picks up alot of ambience noise.
difficult to hear the other person you're talking to.
if you put your hand over the mouthpiece, and also the earpiece, it creates a feedback sound.
no problem on phone 2.

thanks for the rom file after i'll ask you how to flash it.
My phone works good both sims, your, sounds to be an hardware
problem, since you told that you have flashed the rom.
The set of the microphone for the sim 1 is too sensible, and when you put the hand on the micro, it cause what is called "larsen effectc", that happend when the sensibility of the microphone is too high and trigger a feedback from the earphone that cause an annoying whistle .
In an italian forum, I heard about an engineering code to write down in the
china phones with WM6, that allow you to set some hardware features
of the phone including the sound level, I don't know if this is possible also with our phone. but it worth a try.
I'll go to ask in the forum and if pertinent, i'll post you the answer.

hope you can find some way to minimize the sensitivity of microphone setting for phone 1.

he say that the code "engineer mode" it is available only on the china phones with the RTOS operating system, and in some motorola and Nokias,
but he say that maybe it is possible to change the parameters set on the windows registry, with a pc program like CeRegEditor.
Connect the phone to the pc, start CeRegEditor, make it read the registry, click on unlock (if not you can't save the changes), after that you have to look where are located the keys regarding the audio, and see if modifiyng the key value you can solve the problem.
I will look further if i find some else solution

i downloaded the rom, it seems your rom & my rom are the same.
i checked the date & time stamp, its identical.
i also asked my contact at hkc, still no new rom since i asked for it sometime june.
how's the audio quality on your phone 1 & phone 2?
can you hear the calling party clearly?

i've actually tried editing those registries before however still the same.
the question here is that do we have one or two mircrophones?
coz if only one, then there must be a setting somewhere to adjust phone 1 & phone 2. phone 2 sound is better than phone 1.
if two microphones, i cant find the settings as there is only one setting to tweak.

Can somebody tell me how to disable the pick-up/home/back/hang-up button beeps?
I installed a rom a while ago but don't know wich rom it is. And now I have those irritating button beeps when I hit the home button or any of the hardware buttons on the HTC Touch HD.
I tried it by unchecking things in the sound menu but beep doesnt want to go away. When I put the phone on mute it is gone but I like my ringtones..
Can somebody help me please..

To check which rom you have installed go to start > settings > system > device information and depending on which rom your using it should be displayed now or you may have to click on 'software information'. Rom version should be listed.

need help to get my louspeakermode work. I cann hear the opposit but he does not hear me, think there is a prob with my rom, wich switched off mic in loudspeaker mode. Did not find any thing with search.

try to geboot the phone. is the phone up to date. if so did you instal a other rom?
reboot did not help. rom is the same, now for 6 month and it worked fine. only installed some apps in this time from omarket. and now i notised it does not work T.T.

the rom which you have seen is CYANOGEN MOD it is of the latest android version 2.3.5 it dose'nt have speed dial , smart dial but you can download other dialers from market .
cyanogen mod is the fastest rom available till date , it is highly tweaked , most customizable , & it is stable too

EDIT : first check your HBOOT
1.switch off your phone
2.keep pressing down volume button & then press power button
3.now u can see your hboot version
4.to exit select fastboot(use power key) then select reboot(use volume down key )then press power button
