Temp root seems to be failing. That is usually due to a bad download and Antivirus or other soft eating the Zergrush file (used to temp root). check that in the tools/bin folder of the hack kit you have a file called zergrush. If that is not there, make sure that u disable all the protection software and then re download the Kit.

Main version issue is due to temp root failing...so, or your phone is messed or the Hack Kit download is flaw. Check that in the Tools>bin folder you find the zergrush file.

Yea its there.

You need to unlock your bootloader and flash it in fastboot. Then relock the bootloader and run the Hack Kit. Do you know how to do that?

Ill upload it tomorrow for the auto installer

What would you guys like to see in the next auto installer?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S using xda premium
Well, as I already told, 1 autoinstaller to revert to stock recovery. I jusrt wrote a tutorial how to unlock bootloader and how to lock it again. So we have a "way-back-to-warranty-chain"
CWM autoinstaller is nice enough, I think. Afterwards ROMs can be easily installed, system can be backed up etc.
So, maybe you could make a perm root auto installer. Supertoolv3 does it's job, but why not having the phone rooted and cwm installed in 1 step?
does it work with another type, lets say Salsa ? I just wonder ..

I am also thinking of adding a rom downloader and installer but the only way I can do that is by asking for donations to have a domain with unlimited storage online 24/7 if users are up for donating to help towards the hosting costs I can have it all ready by tonight I see it as a way to cut out the middle man and waiting times on file sharing sites. So let me no what you think so I can sign up to a unlimited hosting service and make a PayPal account also it will buy be a beer while things upload for you Guy's

What could have gone wrong ?
Thanks!
may be you can try another way ,first recovery and then root, because you are not unlocked the bootloader you can not use the tools with the ADB command.
I also want to know the hboot and cid of your phone, may be your phone the cid is 11111111,this phone is hard to recovery and root.there is a recovery in attachment, you can have a try.if it is not work I have anyother way. recovery version is 5.028

Hi,
Thanks for the input and apologies for the late reply . I was away all the while.
Tried the recovery suggested by you. It failed and below is the screenshot of the same:
Then went on to use the SD Tool App and found the details. Not sure what my CID is.
A recovery already exists for my phone:
Hope this info helps. Can't wait to hold a rooted WFS. Thanks in advance.

How to Obtain 2.3 RUU From HTC Developers Site

Well, I wrote this a couple of times and it gets more boring every time. Also, the link in Bortak's guide is not working so if someone needs it here you go:
-go to HTC developers site
http://htcdev.com/
-go to KERNEL SOURCE CODE section
-configure filter by DEVICE (choose Desire)
-mark OTHER below
-click on FIND FILES
-and there you go, the first file is 2.3 upgrade utility.
Not that hard?
Hi, can this be pushed directly to the phone ? and how ?
sure I'll lose root permission and S-OFF Right? . sorry for the stupid questions I'm a noob -- first baby steps

You need to extract the exe from the file. The exe is buried two levels deep in a zip.Thereafter run the exe from PC with the phone connected. But before you run the RUU ensure your phone is stock hboot. If it is a alpharev hboot then flash the downgrader hboot from alpharev.nl. Thereafter the "unlock" will appear on bootloader. Then you can run the RUU. You will lose root and soff after RUU.
If you want to again root after this then you have to follow the steps given in revolutionary.io.

I have just found my old HTC Desire (GSM) again.
Now I would like to install an Android 4.4 or 5.0 Rom on it, but for this I have to S-OFF it and install a custom recovery on it.
Is it still possible? As the most tools are down? And if yes, could someone give me the needed links etc? Thanks.
I am on Android 2.3
Have searched for hours. :/

The size or speed aren't the issues. As far as I understand, your sdcard has a corrupted boot partition, which can occur when it's improperly unmounted. This prevents it from being a goldcard. A goldcard lets you flash RUUs with a different CID from yours. In this case, it would let you flash the downgrade.

No....corruption of the boot partition is due to bad habits such as pulling sdcard without proper dismounting it. You can not fix that.

NEW sdcards?? A different one is not good enough. Bad habits are hard to eradicate. Get a new one and make sure that you dismount it correctly.
I didn't really get the problem anyway u can try 2 things before u get the new sd
1: get the downloaded ROM from ur aahk folder and past it on the root of ur sdcard then get into the hboot and the phone should search and find the ROM and prompts u whether if u want to flash ths ROM or not
2: u can download the needed RUU using ur pc and the let the RUU finish everything
I hope that i provided useful and simple info....

How on earth is he going to flash a RUU on a corrupted sdcard? If you have a bad sdcard and therefore you can't make a goldcard then is useless to try to flash a ruu from fastboot. It will let you stuck on a downgraded rom with no root or S-OFF.

i get connection problem, I have installed htc driver only

hi need some help

hi im new to the desire hd forums and im stuck on downgrading from gingerbread 2.3.5 sence 3.0 i dont no if its the updated 2.3.5 or came shipped with 2.3.5 i bought the hanset with that stock rom so ive created a gold card and yet i still cant downgrade with the pg98.img thing and i cant unlock bootloader root or anything with easyaccsesroottool any help would be great im normaly good with this stuff but ive hit a brickwall
Downgrading and gold cards are for AAHK (or for manual S-Off). AAHK is retired, so unless you want to S-Off manually, you should unlock your bootloader instead. What error messages did you get with the Easy Ace Root Tool (which is an unlock tool, not an S-Off tool)? What does your hboot say? Also, please use more understandable punctuation and capitalization. It makes it easier for us to understand, and therefore help, you.

2.0 is not an hboot version...it might be 2.00.0029 or 2.00.0027 but not 2.0. If your Build version is not supported at the moment, then you should create a goldcard and flash a ruu which build version is supported as stated in the OP of the tool.
Im on 2.0.0.0.27 so just a gold card and latest ruu?

Before you can get token, you must update the bootloader first.

I'm yet to read this method in dhd forums....
Here's a little trick I learned over in legend forum (thanks to blay0), from the downloaded exe file, run it, then find the Rom.zip file extracted to temp folder.
Rename Rom.zip to PD98IMG.ZIP put it in root of sd card, reboot to bootloader, should then want to update system just say yes.
This is the method I updated my dhd hboot. No need to go through all the nonsense that ruu does

Did you create a goldcard and update your bootloader like glevitan said? You can't unlock until you have a bootloader that supports unlocking.

Just use the latest unbranded one. If you have a goldcard you don't need to find your phone's specific one.
ive just done gold card and tryed to up date with this RUU_Ace_Gingerbread_S_HKCSL_CHT_2.37.832.6_Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2_release_193200_signed and it still wont let me downgrade or upgrade its pissin me rite off wats going rong?
