I purchased T mobile galaxy s3 and got it unlocked from a local boy. When I check the SIM lock status using Samsung code *#simlock* I get the attached screenshot.
I am able to use it with any SIM but the screenshot got me confused

Thanks. So, it is SIM unlocked, right? I got this message today and I am confused if it is due to a faulty sim.

Buy an unlock code from a website like he said above, also make sure you are on the stock ROM when you enter the unlock code using a foreign (different carrier) SIM otherwise it won't work..

You can pay for it

Just call tmobile and tell them you would like to have the unlock code for your phone. As long as your bill is up to date they will email it to you in about 24 hours, then make sure when you go to unlock it that you have the STOCK ROM installed and a SIM from another carrier. Put the other carrier SIM in the phone after you get the code, turn phone on, enter code and bingo. You will be unlocked.

Yes, if you can find a unlocked Galaxy S3 and if you can cut your SIM to the right dimensions.

I can unlock mine, I need to know if anyone knows if the procedure online is safe enough that people have already done it.

You can unlock it and use.att sim. Get a micro sim.cutter.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
if you bought it outright, call tmobile and they will send you the unlock instructions. no questions asked. done. then you will have to get a microsim cutter and you're golden.
Just purchased a brand new (Unlocked) nexus I9250 off eBay and put my net 10 sim in and asks for the network unlock pin. Anyone have it????

NET10 has to provide it.
Make sure you are clear in the fact that you are NOT asking for a SIM unlock code, its probably a PUK

The reason why it asked for the code was because the sim wasn't activated I had to call net10 3 times before it was activated and now its working fine

no. just no. net10 doesnt have the nexus as a locked device.
you need the sim unlock code from the carrier the phone is locked to.
OP, you need to find this out before you can get a sim unlock code. (BTW, you did not buy a carrier unlocked phone)

Sounds like you may have purchased a carrier lock device. Fine out from the seller where he purchased the phone.

I recently received a T-Mobile Galaxy Note II (SGH-T889) and I can't seem to connect to T-Mobile's network. I checked the IMEI and according to T-Mobile, it is clean. I cannot make or receive calls/texts as I receive a "Not Registered by Network" error every time. Under the "Status" section in the Settings menu shows my phone number, but it says "Out of Service" under Service State and "Unknown" under Mobile Network Type as seen in the pictures. I was wondering if anyone could help me resolve this issue...Thanks!
Did you check with Tmobile directly? Third party sites that check IMEI often don't work. If you have service -service bars and data and still doesn't work, your IMEI is probably blocked. I can't think of anything else. Try to switch to different ROM

Try to replace the SIM card.

Try check the apn?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Are you just in a bad area for T-Mobile? Have you tried in a different location, or another phone from the same spot?
I tried changing SIM, the APN, and I know I am not in a bad T-Mobile area as I receive service on my S2 in the same spot.
You can also try to reflash stock firmware.

How would I do that and would that void the warranty?

You have to get the tar file and flash it via Odin. I don't believe it will void the warranty.

I have a question. If u have note 2. Then your factory warranty should be valid and cover ur type of problem. Since u have a S2 then use it temporary and use ur Samsung warranty to send the phone over.
But I have another suggestion. Take ur phone to store and let them use another sim and see what happens. Otherwise just send ur phone. And if happen that u have tmobile warranty then u will send them just ur phone without battery cover + battery it self + all accessories that came with the phone. And tmobile will send a brand new device in sealed box
I really hope that I helped. Thats all I know.
Good luck:beer:
