Source Released? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Has Samsung released the source to the Sprint version of the S3? I'm looking to upgrade and I want to know if my choice will have the potential of being more future proof.
I may want to flash CM9 (or CM10) and I'd hate to go unofficial or lose features due to no driver sources.
I did find this on the site http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=search&searchValue=l710
Certainly a good sign.

[Q] Is it possible to run stock android on a Galaxy S 3 (plain stock from google?)

I am sorry if this is being posted on the wrong place, I searched but was not able to find something that could answer my question. I wanted to know if it would be possible for Plain Stock Android to be install on a Galaxy S 3. Software that comes directly form Google rather than a custom rom. Would it be ever possible to install plain stock android from Goggle on my Galaxy S 3?
No, the only way to do that would be to use one of the aosp Roms. You can use aokp or cm Roms, but that's as close as you'll get to pure stock for now. Hope that helps.

Beta Testing for AvatarROM

We are the developers of AvatarROM .
The ROM received good response for Samsung Galaxy Nexus (maguro) device. We now have the port for Samsung Galaxy Nexus (toro). Before we make a official thread for toro we would like to get a feedback about the ROM.
Would anyone be interested to do a beta test ?
Its a cyanogen based ROM. Flashing instructions are same as Cyanogen. If you have any questions please ask.

My experience was a good one. No problems with stability or fluidity of the ROM, it just doesn't have some small features I've grown accustomed to. I'm spoiled I suppose but this a great ROM. I hope in time it's updated and maybe even open to other devs to base off of our something

I'm so use to changing the Nav Bar size to a smaller DPI, stock looks and feels bulky. I also like clock and battery options, a variety. I also like the hidden signal with showing of updates. That's all and the only one I "need" is the nav bar sizing other than that I like really liked it.
I'm sure its well known but the theme selection is small

Yeah, its smooth, themes look great, though very few available right now. Tethering was flawless. No problems, can't wait for this to be merged into JB!

[ROM] ATOM-422 [06-22] major update

so i finally made an offical toro+ thread... yes i just copy and pasted my out-of-date OP from my other device threads but if you know ATOM then you already know what's up. if not, you're in for a treat.
PLEASE READ:
This AOSP is not limited to CM, Vanir, CNA, EOS, AOKP etc. you get the best of all of them.. custom tailored for the galaxy nexus (and nexus 7 soon). no bloat for other devices or unusable additions in the source. the benefit? less bugs and a more optimized experience. More major features will be added from your favorite roms as soon as i can port and improve on them. I will listen to requests but don't get offended if i put them on the back-burner or decide against including them.
Disclaimer: Because I'm using building using commits from every major repo in existence it may take a while to integrate some of the major features to my standards. I may release a stock AOKP feature as a beta until I have the chance to improve it but I'm not interested in band-aid fixing things or duck taping **** together just to get more crap under the features list and change log. Also, If you have questions or interest in building or joining vanirAOSP please message me on gtalk: [email protected] and feel free to add me on google+
here is a link to the parent thread where you can view previous change logs and perhaps find an answer to a question

well.. available since v7 or v8.. about a month and a half maybe?
i didn't just jump right into starting a thread because i needed to develop a small regular flashing group on toro+ so i would have enough feedback to support and fix bugs specific to toro+ since i don't actually own the device. sticking my toes in the water to test the temp if you will.

i would say pretty close, only me personally, the most stock i've ran, only extras it has is the basic CM settings, and its using the Apex launcher, which is basically the stock UI, very snappy also, any the first boot took me less than a minute, which was impressive, backup and give it a run, oh and i noticed that the Live wallpaper option is missing, don't think it was included, not really a big deal for me tho

yes sir, i believe it used to be implemented, but had to remove them because it wasn't technically legal to have them built it
I tried this ROM and had a lot of issues with it.
1. I could not make calls nor make nor receive. I just couldn't hear anything.
2. The screen would just go black and freeze
3. I am now back on Stock TW
And for some reason appeared to have lost my 4G
4. It constantly rebooted into safe mode
NOTE: I did not use any custom kernel nor tweaks. I went bared on it just gapps for cm 10.1

I just got off from a few calls from this rom, both called and received with no problems, i didn't get any freeze ups either, and no reboots ever since, and i get 4G, sometimes tho, but that's normal in my case because i barely get 4G where i live, and i believe my AUX works also, because i used my headphones for a few calls.
i'm guessing you did a clean flash, and you said you didn't flash any kernels, not sure if we used the same gapps, but i don't think that would cause your issues, but i guess we will wait until someone else reports any other issues that can relate, because its flawless for me so far.

One CM10 major apk it includes, is the CM Settings APK, which is built in the settings menu, that's why I said both, sorry for not being very specific, i could be wrong tho, so I say test it out and fell free to correct me.

[ROM][I9505][Android 4.3.1] - VANIR AOSP jfltexx.... Fasten your seatbelts!!!

Hi there.
I should start by saying that I'm not the developer of this rom, not even have I the skills and knowledge to do the magic that some of you guys do.
Also, if this is not the place to create this thread, or if, because of its context, it's just not right to create the thread at all, please let me know.
This rom is famous in other devices for the speed and responsiveness, and since I got my S4 that I've been following developer's Google+ thread to see when it would be ready... And it just got ready a couple of days ago.
Because there was no xda thread for this rom, I talked with nuclearmistake (the developer) about the possibility of creating a thread to share the rom with you guys and see if some of you could do your magic. He doesn't have this device, so he won't be active in the thread, but i'll post the links and credits and we'll start from there.
I tested it in my device and it ran perfectly both with normal gapps and banks gapps...Tested later with ChronicKernel and there was no issues either. So it's up to you guys to test further and see how to make it better.
Note: NEITHER ME, NUCLEARMISTAKE OR ANYONE INVOLVED IN THE VANIR PROJECT ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO YOUR PHONE IF YOU FLASH THIS ROM, IF YOU DO DECIDE TO FLASH THIS ROM, DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Note2 : When I used this rom in nexus 7, there was a discussion about using kernel cleaning scripts before installing new kernels. The use of these scripts would clean the content of the init.d folder, which in this case was where all the "magic" was.
I can't confirm that the same happens if you use those kind of scripts with this device, but what was suggested then was to simply clean cache and dalvik before installing new kernel.
Features:
(taken from another device because there's no official release for jfltexx... if some don't match, let me know and I'll update this list)

Just flashed it. So far so good. Based on cm so no point to post screenshots. 4.3.1
It has some extra features. Really smooth. Going to test some more.

It's based on aosp latest sources. I believe that the main difference is some "under the hood" tinkering. Don't ask me what, because I don't know exactly .
Try it and you'll see the difference...
One thing I noticed, also in other devices, is a slightly higher battery consumption. That was the main reason of my decision to create this thread : to see if we can optimize the battery consumption without compromising the performance.
Talked with Eric about that and he mentioned that the Google services from regular gapps could be the cause for that. Other gapps could have better results and he suggested to have a look at DHO's gapps. I didn't try them yet...

In that case it would mean that the current kernels available in the original android development section don't work, because of a different kind of RAM disk.
EDIT:
And DHO's gapps? Where can I find those?

Well, I tried latest chronic kernel and it worked fine, so not sure that may be the issue.
I compared Google services activity with other ROMs and it's a little different. If you check running services, there's, for ex. Google play services that doesn't exist in some other ROMs (slim bean for instance). I tried to disable the service to see how it would work, and had some issues.

Used to be the case on my old nexus s. And I thought broodplank was talking about this. That's why custom kernels don't work on his rom. See why I asked this means this is probably not based on aosp, but cm

Nice ROM. One thing I noticed is where is the option to change windows animation speed in developer options. Its so slow I like to turn all them onto .5 or .25

I'm not sure I'm following you... I said in OP - and then again while answering to your post-, that ChronicKernel works.. And you keep saying that custom kernels don't work?
