Hey folkes,
heres what I did to minimized battery drainage:
- clean install of ARHD 9.1
- Faux 6M
- Autobrightness
- Static backround in dark colours
Any other tips are highly appreciated

33 % in 22 h and 19 Minutes
---> Display: 37 % in 57 Minutes --> 13 % per hour.
---> W-Lan : 18 % in 17 hours and 9 Minutes --> 0,34 % per hour.
I spend most of the 57 Minutes surfing, must have been some 40 minutes, the rest on whatsapp, sms and doing random stuff.
I was thinking about doing an actual analysis of the energie consumption factors...maybe it can still be minimized.
Coming from CM10, i was absolutely blown away by how much better the battery life was on ARHD (just as good as my old iPhone 3GS).
BTW, using a dark background won't save power - the LCD backlight output is constant irregardless of what is on the screen.
PS. The 'Captcha' image verification for every post on this forum is ridiculous.

You have that captcha verification because at the time of the above posting you had only five posts. Once you reach a certain number (8/10 I don't remember) it will not be required.

Lower autobrightness values will definitely reduce battery consumption. Make sure your kernel is based off of the latest base (2.17), and then you can try undervolting and underclocking from there. Use BetterBatteryStats to try and diagnose any unnecessary battery drain. Avoid doing CPU/GPU intensive tasks to really stretch out the battery. Make sure you are using the latest radio firmware for your device. Disable vibration feedback if you can live without it. Disable screen lock sounds, touch sounds, and keyboard sounds.
Install Carat on your phone and use it to figure out if anything is using battery excessively. If anything has very high confidence percentage, either delete or change the settings in the application to try and get rid of the battery drain.
One thing I have noticed is that Google backup can take battery in the background. If you use Titanium backup and do not care about Google's phone backup, you can disable it.

I am on Stock Rom (Forgot to mention this)
I average about 3.30 hours of screen time with my settings everyday, today I had 4.30 hours, 1.4 Internet surfing, 30 min voice calls, and 12 hours of wifi, total time 22.54 hours.
This is my best so far: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...79392&page=114 (I think I can reach better results (Have better average results now)
Also please feel free to share your settings.
My settings:
Unlocked and rooted.
LED Notifications off (except for SMS).
Fastboot in power settings unticket.
Sound Settings - Turned sensors Off: Quiet ring on pick up, Pocket mode, Flip for speaker.
Brightness Control using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rightnesslevel (I mostly leave it at 15% its more than enough for my vision at least, then if out and its really sunny I just switch to 50% its a widget so its easy to use).
All vibration settings, haptic feedback and stuff off(except for phone calls).
All auto-sync off (everything updates when you enter it like email and weather and others so no need to be on).
All animations Off (you won't notice any difference after awhile so it might as well be off).
Phone dial, keyboard and other tones off.
In developer options-> Background process limit set to 3. (Reverts after reboot/restart)
Using Core Control, can be found here (Must be rooted) http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1652136 and I have it set to 2 cores. (Reverts after reboot/restart)
Have the backlights on the 3 capacitive buttons on the bottom off at all times using Tasker using a mod made by backfromthestorm, credits go to him and nobnut, mod can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...1657619&page=3 (Reverts after reboot/restart).
Another mod from backfromthestorm (which can be found in the link above aswell)is better multi-tasking which changes the values in sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree file to 1536,2048,3584,5120,15360,20480, I set the values using Tasker. (Reverts after reboot/restart).
Another thing I do before going to sleep or not going to use the phone for a few hours is I use the built in app Task Manager's and kill all tasks and then turn the screen off, by doing this I have noticed that battery percentage doesn't mysteriously drop without using it.
Can't remember what other settings I may have at the moment but will add if memory allows
I have frozen the following apps and others:
I thought this way would be quicker and easier, I hope at least excuse my laziness otherwise

Decent stats:
This was pretty much hardcore non-stop usage.
This was pretty much not letting the phone rest from the moment it finished charging.
Will do some video tests later to see how long it can last while watching some HD flicks.

Thanks for all the tweaks, I have never had more than 2.5 hour screen time. Ill shall now use some of your settings to mix my own frozen yogurt (edit Ice Cream yogurt) . So far CM9 seems to be my bag, but I bought the phone for the camera...
Very useful thread, thanks
Just one thing though, the LEDs used for the LED Notifications use so little power that you can leave them enabled and it will drain next to no power at all! Not sure about the capacitive LEDs though, I can't imagine they use much power either!

You are welcome, yeah I know that the LEDs may not save much battery at all but one thing I like about the capacitive lights is that I have the options as widget shortcuts on my screen so I can turn them on when I feel like I need them, but most of the time I keep them off

Try using something like juicedefender lite or go power manager from the play store. They can help you set up different modes that toggle things that eat battery life. They also tell you what apps/hardware is using the most battery.
I found that on mine, the screen was using a ton as was the 4g at work (bad connection). So Juice defender will turn off/on my 4g every 15 minutes and download updates without draining my whole battery. Good luck!

stop using a task manager. that is probably what is killing your battery.
Add this tweak to /system/build.prop
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0 - This setting puts your phone into a deeper sleep when on standby. This may improve battery life.
pm.sleep_mode=1 - This sets the phone to use power collapse when in standby.
0 - Power Collapse Suspend
1 - Power Collapse
2 - Apps Sleep
3 - Slow Clock and Wait for Interrupt (default)
4 - Wait for Interrupt

there are many reasons that are responsible for fast battery drain.
1. App using the Processor to its fullest.
2. App misbehaving (restarting multiple times in background)
3. Overheating of device due to any external or internal factor
4. Battery fault.
I would recommend you
1. Set the brightness of your phone to "AutoMode"
2. Use Power saving mode while not playing resource hungry games.
3. Download Clean master. that will solve the app misbehaving problem which results in Overheating.
4. Charge your phone wisely.
I am currently running liquidsmooth RC7 and the problem I'm having is that my phone never sleeps and that causes me to lose a lot of battery even when the screen is off. Before putting my phone on charging, my battery life is about 60 percent remaining on 7 and a half hours total with about 1 and a half hour of screen time.

Get the Better Battery Stats app from the market and use it to figure out what's wakelocking your phone. Either freeze, uninstall, change sync settings, or limit auto starts on the problematic apps.
Russian smashed across the interwebz from my T-Mobile Galaxy S2. Please hit thanks if I helped.
Better Battery Stats is the way to go. I had the same issue on Liquid Smooth RC7. You need to look for the partial wake locks after unplugged. The biggest changes I made was to change syncing on most apps to 3-4 hours. I can now get a deep sleep nearly indef. You will find a couple OS based wake locks that are triggered by apps you have running. just have to week them out one at a time. I can get two days straight off the phone with minimal use.
I just installed version 1.11.00 and it says no reference set yet.

You need to pick one on the main screen of the app. This option is the one that allows you to pick certain things like Since Unplugged, Since Boot, Since Screen Off, etc. This is the "reference" point from which BBS will show you wakelocks from. For the other option, you're most likely looking for "Partial Wakelocks". It's also gonna take some time to gather stats. For a quicker check, I usually use Since Unplugged, plug my phone in, make sure music and other foreground apps are closed, unplug it, don't use the phone, and check BBS in an hour or two. Check the XDA thread for the app if you have more questions about it. I just know the basics of the app. ~_~

No reference is usually from it not having a start point. Meaning you have to let it charge to 100% then unplug it with BBS running. Or if you just installed it, plug it in and unplug it. It will start from there.
"Since Unplugged" it the setting to use. Along with partial wake locks. I also highly suggest the 2x2 widget that goes with it. Just tap on it for a refresh of the new info. Will display how long you've been in each state.
What I did was I download juice defender and I under clock it when I lock/put it to sleep and before I go to sleep I close the applications that take a lot of ram. Overall when my phone goes to sleep it only loses around 1-5 percent which is way better than lossing 30%-50% every night

20% in hour with screen on is not that bad if you were playing a game that is not a battery killer.
Given that you've used your internet browser and facebook, consumption might be a bit high.
Check this post for more information regarding battery and performance:
-THE ULTIMATE =BATTERY LIFE + GAMING PERFORMANCE=[setup/guide/UNDERVOLTING-explained]
Try another ROM and/or Kernel. I useLextermina Abster Go and Xmister Kernel and I am quite happy with the balance between performance and battery.
You can also use SetCPU (I am using smartmax governor and sio scheduler) and finally get rid of all these battery monitors, especially the widget that seems to be a real battery killer (GSAM Battery Monitor is pretty good I think)
Hope this help

Try to browse with chrome or Firefox to see if battery behave better. Try seeder app to remove lags, would not improve battery though. Try jbmod pack from lyapota for quick settings or widgetsoid (i use both). Have you try installing another Rom or reinstall your current one with full wipe of course.

That jb mode do i have to flash that rar? Or how o install it?
4hours of heavy use with screen on is normal. Nothing is wrong with your battery.
Jbmod should be a zip file that you flash in recovery. Nand backup first. Lots of good rom integrates it.
For your battery, lower screen brightness as much as you can. lyapota and wigetsoid are both useful for this as well.

But Lux is a battery saver isn't it? It periodically adjusts the brightness levels (it's not like auto-brightness)
Turn auto brightness off and set you screen brightness to the lowest possible you can tolerate. Any app that is running is a battery consuming app. Also BBS should be frozen if your not using it to diagnose an issue the least you have running the better off you are.

I had really bad battery performance when I was using Lux. It does seem to adjust brightness levels in an adequate way, but if I recall correctly, I was getting a lot of wakelocks when I had it. So while it probably was saving battery due to better screen usage, it was killing me in the deep sleep department.
Just my experience with it.

I will do that then for sure.
I could suggest Greenify for your installed apps (not system apps). But with the alarms it looks like you set alarms in your stock clock and on your 3rd party clock which is what could cause some wake locks
So I keep getting these wake locks when my phone should be in deep sleep. Caused my phone to drop 25% over night with no activity. I've done research on it but most of it says that this app is for your apps that sync. I've checked my syncs and everything seems Ok. Is there anyone that can shed a little more light on the subject?
