I have been looking for the same thing but couldn't find it yet
I have not enough time to do it myself so i'd appreciate if someone could help us

I believe the navbar is located in SystemUi, then if so replace it with a transparent or different color.

It's ic_sysbar_highlight.png and ic_sysbar_highlight_land.png

i'm a lazy theme lol
but hey if you are using CM10 just go to:
SystemUI\res\values\drawables.xml
and this should be Navbar color
Code:

#ff000000

Just FYI, there's a reason you don't see transparent backgrounds very much- it causes some pretty awful lag.

[THEME][JUNE 4][HOWTO] { Full ICS } - Removed all old GB styles - AOKP 38

Hey guys,
I was fairly disappointed by the amount of gingerbread styling left over using apps that havent been designed to use the new holo theme.
I have taken it upon myself to remove the default gingerbread styling and move to the holo resources.
This fix is all xml and uses no additional images.
To incorporate I believe you can just move over the styles.xml to framework-res.apk/values/styles.xml
Anyone using this theme please provide feedback since there may be buggy or incorrectly themed instances throughout.

No, it adds most holo theme elements such as menus, progress circles, scrollbars, etc.
BlackDino,
Can you merge this fix to your FULL ICS?

It's a COLOR Gradient Fix in System Settings for ICS because the Color Gradient there is not good and heavily jagged.
Thanks a lot. LOL.
Thanks so much for this
I ported styles.xml to my mod for Captivate and of course gave you credit!

Wow. Looks beautiful. At last ICS seems complete. Unfortunately changing the list popups background to dark sometimes causes letter color issues. For example in Tapatalk. But it is not a big problem for me. Big thanks for this mod.

ah, thanks man.
Ill fix the progress bar on the next version.
As for any weird colors on menus I can't really fix them.
This is from app developers using inline styles and not following the android style guide lines
Impressive! New Color Gradient Fix will be up again soon because I found there's still some places which have ugly Color Gradient. I think you'll need to update soon. LOL.

[Request] Change Gummynex softkey background color

I'm currently on Gummy 1.2.2 for the toro and I've been going crazy trying to modify the background color of the softkeys. Not the glow effect, not the keys themeselves, but the actual bar they rest on. I'd like to make it white but if someone could just help me figure out how to change it to begin with it'd be greatly appreciated. I've decompiled the systemui apk and tried editing several xml's but got nowhere with it. It's driving me crazy trying to figure it out. Any help would be awesome. I've searched through the forums and had no luck thus far.

What are you using to decompile ? and there you go, compare my xmls with yours to do the edits i threw in the tracking xml also and thats how you go about having a custom pulldown bg,
1 pulldown back should be about 480x733 gives you a perfect image in portrait and landscape, and you take your image and name it pulldown_bg.png and save in gimp for example
2 navbar backgrounds = navbar01 =400x50, navbar02=50x400 save as png format
3. all three of those images put them in the drawable-xhdpi in sytemui
4. easy to do you should be able to do it on your own let me know if you have any troubles

I'm using an apk manager developed for Mac. I've used it to decompile, theme, and build multiple apk's from my rom. It works pretty awesome. Lol. I use that to decompile and then I use xml edit to change the xmls. I don't have a PC to run the regular apk tool on so I'm unsure if that's where my issue is.

Seems simple enough. I just edited a ton of apps throughout my rom and blacked everything out. Very minimal color with an emphasis on black and white and I think the white nav and Status bars will help keep the contrast along the theme flowing. I can't wait to get home and try it out. Thanks again for the help.
Edit... well it was a no go for me. Cannot figure this out. Here's the xml's that I'm starting with.

If your colorizing with gimp them the hue is 196 the saturation is 80 and the darkness is -35 or so... if that seems to dark them up it a little bit. This is for white its the other way around for black things obviously.

@Uber, I would prefer it to be free to be honest. But if it's your work, then it's your choice ! Its so close to your theme as you see, but status bar drop down is different. And yes, no icons no anything! Just pure stock Black and Blue ! Don't want to take more of your time !
Question, is it possible to make it also AOKP compatible? I mean, if I apply your Uber Jelly Blue in AOKP, the Rom Control Icon in settings will remain White and not blue, since your theme is based to go for CM10's like Settings look
Its possible just haven't had the time to do it.

Yeah I know, I think there's also a new Icon with AOKP Nightlies? I think it's Advanced or something like that heh! Just would love it CM10 and AOKP Compatible all the way through with Blue setting Icons
TIP : If you use AOKP, and set the status bar wallpaper to black with no transperancy. It will become full black, BUT the Top Right of the status bar will have a brown glitch line. It was the same case with the Mod I have right now, but when I told Lichti he fixed it and I think he just blackened the TOP of the status bar too. because the stock status bar starts black and starts fading gray downwards, so I assume he/aokp were leaving the top of it un-edited Thanks for your listening.

Yes, he's had the toast and framework .9 pngs since June 1st Build actually. I've been a rascream/ rasbean user since the very first ICS ROM and now the ROM is on JB.
It was not a flashable theme, it has always been part of the ROM.
Amoled Blue by etoy is very similar, that is a flashable theme for AOKP.
You first came out with Uber Jelly at the end of June? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Feel free to comb through the Trinity kernel thread in the gsm dev section, there are posts from the end of May when rascarlo first showed off the glow... for the first two or three ROMs he had it solid black though.
The ROM has always been known for its black and blue theme, this has been what defined rascream and now rasbean.
I'm not doubting the validity of your claim, I'm just pointing out that this particular ROM has looked this way before your theme came out.
Edit: A link to the first post mentioning the switch to a holo glow. I hope this helps you get to the bottom of this matter, because rascarlo isn't about not giving credit where credits due. He's a righteous guy, so I'm sure there's a misunderstanding somewhere.

So I've added my own shortcuts to the secsettings from Alpha rom, such as cloud storage (copy, Dropbox, drive), screen recording, pc connections (unified remote, team viewer), IR remote, etc etc and have everything how I want it.... Except one thing. I can not for the life of me change the background to a 50-75% transparent image.
So far I've changed the png, the theme in styles, color codes in colors, color codes in styles, and settings main xml, default theme lines in the Frameworks styles, changed the system background png, and a few other things I can't remember. But none give me what I want. When I first open the settings for a split second I see the transparent image I added but then it's soon covered with a black background.
So does anybody know how or where to edit for a transparent image to be the background of the sec settings?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Bummer nobody?
Maybe you should ask in the section called q&a, help & troubleshooting
Just a thought?

Has the device themes in it, which I messed with by changing device theme to Device.Light which changes it to a light theme (white background/black letters). On other phones you were able to change it to Device.Transparent or Device.Transparentcy but those 2 error out on recompile.
Having a solid image is no issue by swapping out a png but using a transparent don't work because there's still a background being displayed behind it.

Right, well.. check this out:
okay, so this is how i was able to change the background of stuff like SecSettings.apk. ***warning, because of the way Samsung coded stuff, this will change the background of a lot of stock app stuff, ie MMS, Clock, etc.
you need to decompile your framework-res.apk
once this is done, nav to res\values\drawables.xml
change

#ff000000

to (or whatever color)

@drawable/background_holo_dark

You're the one complaining about not getting any replies. And before you go flipping out you should really read the rules. This sub topic is for releasing apps you've written or sharing apps specific to the s4. If you need help with something, that goes in the q&a , hence you have a question and are looking for an answer.

One I wasn't complaining.
Two if that's the case, you have some mall cop duties to jump on in some threads asking for Crap like live wallpapers and etc.
Three if you have an issue with where my thread is, I really don't give a Crap. Use the report button.

Only have an attitude towards people who try to play forum rent-a-cops who post useless Crap to what somebody is asking. Like I said kid, if you have an issue or your panties are in a wad of where my or any body's thread is located feel free to use the report button.
Notice no attitude to the one actually helpful guy that didn't play forum rent-a-cop? Yeah.
