I installed Titanium Backup Pro the other day and every time I backup and do a backup verification, it says one of the following under each item:
Error with Properties of Backup
or
Error with Data Backup
or
Error with App Backup
I've spent hours trying to figure this out...please HELP!
Thank you in advance for your time and expertise.
No one knows what's happening here?
Just as a data point:
I installed TB Pro this evening,
and of 147 items (apps, apps data, system data) backed up, it gives me 3 data errors, no app errors.
So, it does work sometimes...

Has anyone had any succesful restores on cdma gnex using titanium backup when I tried to restore my apps got an error missing md5 file havn5 tried it in a while but scared to because I would have to reflash a backup
I've no issue with titanium restore. I flash every week since the nexus came out. Brought my backups from the thunderbolt.
Are you backing up user apps+ system data or just user apps?
User + data only, never system apps + data.
Running MikG v3.11 - I ended up doing a full wipe as my Evo kept freezing and wouldn't let me past the lockscreen; market updates and app installs were frequently failing (invalid package file errors), so I knew it was time to wipe it and start over; I also had no good backup which wasn't an issue because I never wiped sd-ext partition so it maintained my apps and titanium restored the data.
This time aroundI wiped sd-ext, system, boot, data, etc.... I had current backups for all of my user apps before doing this and thought that I could restore everything with Titanium but it appears this isn't so. I started titanium and it gave a warning message about my Android Device ID changing. I ignored the message and no longer see the 150 apps that were backed up in the apps list on Titanium. When i make it search the backup directory, it comes back and says it finds a folder with 150 app backups but it will not restore anything from the backup directory. Is there a way to fix this as I had alot of apps and custom settings; especially my EQ settings in PowerAmp :-(
....or am I stuck and should I just wipe out the backup directory (/mnt/sdcard/TitaniumBackup)?

Check your filters. Make sure everything is set to all and then clear the box at top
And don't wipe the directory. If they are in there something weird is going on. If filters look fine I would uninstall titanium, delete the sdcard/data/com.kermidas.titaniumbackup folder, reboot to recovery, clear cache+dalvik, fix permissions, reboot, reinstall titanium+the license from market.

No problem. Glad to help another pittsburgher.
Hi, I never had this issue before, I did apps backup with Titanium Backup. After restoring to another device (same model, replacement unit), 30 out of 90 said were failed to restore. Is there still a way to restore them?
Thanks
I have found you can mostly avoid this problem by selecting "restore to original location" in settings.
II have around 23k messages and it tooks hours just to backup and to restore SMS after flashing rom everytime when I am using backup applications from playstore. Is there a faster way to backup like maybe a single file from /system or anything like that?
Probably not if you insist on keeping that many stored, which is a ridiculous amount of messages to keep on a Phone, I get sentimentality but still.
Titanium Backup is faster than sms backup app
Is TB accurate? When I first tried it, it lost a lot of my messages. I've stuck with SMS Backup and Restore which also has MMS backup now.
if rooted you can also get the database directly in :
data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db
Check out permissions and reapply same when restoring ...:highfive:
I recently had to wipe CM14 since it was buggy. I went back to CM13 but I lost all my apps. I installed TB Pro and I want to do a full restore of all my apps and data. I found the right directory in the preferences but TB is not listing the apps for which I have a backup. The backup files are encrypted. I also have a copy saved to a cloud storage service but the 2.5gb of data is always on my phone.
I can't figure out how to restore to the same phone with the same OS and the same device ID. Help!
RESOLVED. I had a filter selected! Duh....
