Hi masters,
I have problem with my Samsung google nexus, firstly i purchased in singapore when i went to holiday so thecnical service is only valid in purchased conutry,
so i really need help.
I have a galaxy nexus and for the past week it keeps telling me to install the new software update. When I begin the install, the SGN reboots and you see a black screen with a white google logo and then it just freezes on this screen. I left it on this screen thinking it was "doing it's thing"....left it there for hours. Still nothing. I've tried more times than I can count and it keeps doing this.
At this point, I just want to try reset the phone because it may fix when i reset it. I tried to both reset in settings and hard reset but same thing did. it freezs a black screen with a white google logo.
now i am unable to reset and update my phone.. please help i have to solve this problem myself...
thanks...

Sorry for posting a new thread but I want to make sure I am heading in the right direction. I bought a Galaxy S3 yesterday that was rooted. I want to put it back to stock ROM. I downloaded Odin and the ATT Stock ROM's. Everything went ok and passed without fail, but my phone is stuck on boot. Googling around I found a how to where I could run CWM Recovery, but it seems like this is for rooted devices stuck at boot. I am looking to go back to stock. Will this work or is there something else I am missing? Thanks and I will begin searching on the forum for help.
Edit: My phone does go into dowload mode.

so dont worry you'll be fine as long as your able to go to download mode your phone is good
Heres how to restore to stock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypmqJbZqOaU
If you wanna root it again like a boss heres the link for that too:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoEVDgjTTdg
Great. Thanks for that link. I actually found that video and was looking for the drivers. I noticed the one he linked if for Sprint. My phone is ATT though. I clicked on the ATT link a little further down in his description where it says AT&T USA. I am assuming this is the correct file to install right? Now is that the TAR file or the drivers? He didnt post an AT&T link for one of those.
factory reset

It wont let me get into factory reset either. I hold power up, power and home and it goes to...
Firmware upgrade encountered and issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again. I cant get into Kies because Kies doesnt connect to the device
Ok I followed QBkings video and everything worked fine and passed but I am still stuck on the Samsung screen. I know he mentioned factory reset but he did it once he was already into the actual phone. Mine wont get in.
You guys are all beasts! Thanks a million for the help. Factory reset finally worked! My phone didnt reset by itself though.
Well I see you must have been able to fix your phone!
It must be like the Atrix 2, but instead of FXZ restoration w/ RSD Lite, you use TAR files and Odin

The same thing happened to me today.
I flashed a rooted ics stock, one that came with cwm. It was still stuck on the logo until I went onto cwm and factory reseted. Now it works again.

Boot into recovery. Vol up + home + power. When your device vibrates and you see the blue text in the top left corner of the screen, release just the power button.
Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache
Hi evereybody.
I have a GSM galaxy nexus with 4.2.2. Since approximately a month ago the phone started to reboot itself randomly. Sometimes when I was surfing the web, other times when the phone was on standby at night. Well, since the reboots were becoming more frequent I decided to do a factory reset, because I assumed that it was a corrupt application file or something like that. One week into the factory reset it started restarting again by itself, maybe 2 times a day. I searched the web, couldn't find anything useful so I told myself that the 4.3 update should solve the problem (naive me).
Today the update popped and I intermediately installed it. What is my surprise, that in the middle of installation I get the droid icon down on his back and an ERROR message. Rebooted the phone pulling out the battery and now the phone won't pass the multicolored X screen.
I have no unlocked bootloader, and the phone isn't rooted. So I tried to do a factory reset with the default recovery mode the galaxy nexus has. I wiped the phone but I get stuck on the same screen. The funny thing is that every time I try to wipe the caché partition the phone reboots itself immediately.
I don't know what to do. I'm not an advance user, I installed the GNEX TOOLKIT and tried to flash the factory image, but seems like I don't have the USB DEBUGGING option enabled and can't complete the process.
Do I need to send my phone back? (i'm still in warranty) Or is there a way to be able to start my Gnex again?
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys first post
Anyways I've been having problems with my Nexus 7 hat I got for X-Mas. It started out ok but friday it crashed and I re-booted it. The screen was unresponsive but it started working again . Today I booted it up and it got stuck on the Google screen, I waited for about 20 mins and nothing. I tried flashing it back to stock, factory reseting, both of those seemed to do nothing. I hope this is a software glitch cause I had to unlock bootloader to flash the android version, because if it is hardware I can't get a replacement since I voided the warrenty right? Should I try flashing maybe 4.3, or what?
-Please help me
-Dylan
Hi Scoorzia, since you've already tried a factory reset and have unlocked the bootloader, I'd go ahead and flash the full stock 4.4.2 ROM. Is that what you tried before?

Yes I did try this, also I seemed to get it back to working state, but it keeps freezing and becomes unresponsive and powers off. It passes the Google screen now but sometimes on the locks creen I can't swipe and it goes into sleep and won't come back. I'll give it a week and if it still continues I'll take the other guys advice about gettinga r eplacement.

I relocked it with fastboot but can't they tell if I unlocked it before? Also there's a tiny scratch on the edge of the screen I accidentaly made. If I get it replaced will they replace it witha new one or jsut the same with fixed software?
Also it seems to like to reset it self quite allot, I'll hopefully try get a replacement.
If you did a clean flash of the stock ROM and recovery, it could be an eMMC that's faulty straight from the factory.
Today it's been OK. I flashed one more time and haven't had any problem since. I think it'll be OK, probably something to do withKitKat

Not Sure If They'll Be Able To Tell, But I've Got My Nexus 7 2013 For X-Mas and So Far I've Unlocked The Bootloader 4 Times ( Kept Wanting To Start Fresh)
Hey Guys,
I received an update on my unlocked AT&T note II sgh-i317 yesterday. It caused the phone to go blank. I flashed stock firmware UCAL which seem to go well but now the phone will not boot up . It just boots into white Samsung Note II logo. Any suggestions on what to do?. I already pulled battery and tried going into recovery mode and sI still keep getting the same thing.
Thanks
BootLoop due to OTA Update SGH I317
I received the same OTA update last night.
My phone was rooted but had stock Rom.
The update finished and now my phone is in a bootloop. The only option I have to power on the phone is by pulling battery, volume down/power/home. But even then, it will not allow me to fully power on.
I tried Kies software to install the update but was unsuccessful. I will also try unrooting.
Same thing happened to me. Rooted but otherwise stock GN2. Got the update, rebooted and it got stuck at the boot logo. I tried everything. Flashed CWM, then tried a couple different ROM's. Then went to TWRP recovery, and tried the Team Elektron ROM, that got a little farther, boot logo with sound, but it still hung. Tried a modem update, and even the bootloader - nothing worked.
Luckily I had just bought mine ($300 on Amazon right now) so I just sent it back as defective and ordered a new one. Gonna be real careful of the ATT update and maybe even skip it and go right to a custom ROM.

I tired clearing everything, tried flashing everything, nothing worked. When I flashed the Elektron ROM it got a little further, an animated logo with sound, but never fully booted. I then tried all their (Team Elektron) recommended fixes but nothing worked. Finally gave up and shipped it back to Amazon today.
Getting my new one tomorrow, going to root it and not accept any OTA updates and most likely flash a non-AT&T ROM.
I had the same problem and fix it UCUCNE5

I tried this approach. It didn't work for me. I downloaded the stock rom and flashed it with Odin. My screen is still froze on the logo, and my battery icon is grey as if it's not charging. I charge it now in a battery charger just to be sure it's charged. I can't afford to lose this phone. Can someone please assist.

What message did you receive when trying to flash? Did you flash the 4.4.2 ROM? What had you flashed beforehand
I'm not completely an expert but I've learned enough over the last 48 hours to fix my own phone.

Odin said the flash was complete and successful, but the phone still won't get passed the logo screen. There is no recovery with this 4.4.2 firmware. I can't do a system wipe without a recovery. I tried flashing a custom recovery but It's not working either. I need a way to flash a complete 4.4.2 stock with recovery.

I believe I am in the exact same boat. My note 2 had no modifications. Never tried to do anything to the phone in the way of new ROMs or rooting or anything. I picked up the phone and hit the home button the other night and the phone restarted, came up on the Samsung Galaxy Note II screen and stuck. Can't factory reset, same grey battery icon, can only power off by removing the battery, similar results when I try using Kies and Odin (assuming I am using them correctly). Will be following your thread and hoping someone can share some further advice...

So if you pull battery, then restart with the 3 button combo to get to recovery,
(Hold down Volume Up and Power button and Home button together) you should be able to factory reset from there.

I can get to the menu and select the reset option (although i get a slew of red error messages along the way) but when it reboots, im right stuck back at the samsung GNII splash screen.

Warm greetings to you all friends,
So far one week ago i bought a Samsung galaxy S3 i9300 SGH-1747 (AT&T Vietnam) from my big friend. As you know on smartphones you need to reset if you are a new user. I made a factory data reset by pressing all the buttons procedure. I wiped the phone and it rebooted. But since i reseted the phone, It started switching off its self after like every 4 minutes it sets off. It showed me this message “The device has detected an application attempting to perform actions that are not permitted, Reboot now or reboot later" even if press restart nothing changes it brings it back again. So my friend requested me that he can fix that by changing the rom.
After he has erased the phone, and connects it to odin if failed to upgrade, immediately after pressing start it fails. He has downloaded almost the roms of it type but again they fail in odin software. It cannot connect to kies software. Now it just blinks "Samsung" logo on the screen after a second and it goes off. Please kindly advise me, what can we do? I love that phone because there very expensive here. Help me please what can we do?

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
You may need a download mode jig at this point.
At any rate, I am connecting this thread to the forum your device experts can be found:

The i9300 and the i747 are different phones and any ROM or custom recovery suitable for one could hardbrick the other.
Could you power off the device, remove the back cover, and then check under the battery to verify the model?
I checked it and the model is that one.

The i747 makes things a bit more limited in things we could do to correct this. The last full official ROM released by AT&T was the 4.1.1 release. If your phone had a newer bootloader and modem on it than that for 4.1.1 or the 4.1.2 partial release, then the 4.1.1 release is not safe for you to use.
Do you know, or can you get, information about what it was your friend tried to flash?
Can he tell you what bootloader and modem were on your phone before he flashed anything?
Boot into download mode (Odin mode) and report back with all of the small text at the top of the screen. If there is a line about "warranty bit" that would indicate you to be on at least the 4.3 bootloader.
I expect the solution will using a debrick image on an external sdcard, booting from it,, swapping cards, determining the correct bootloader and modem, flashing them, flashing a custom recovery, and finally flashing a rom. Here is a thread about using a debrick image, it has links to where he obtained his info.
