Hello pplz. I installed CM 7 mod over the weekend. All went well except for the gapps. I downloaded the gapps from the provided link and flashed it using recovery. But gmail, market and goggle maps failed to install. And they were also not be shown in the market. I searched the net and found the apks of all. Market and maps were installed successfully and gmail gives the error of application not installed.
Then using root explorer I copy the gmail.apk to the system folder n still smell problem.
Please tell me a way to install Gmail
Apk.
Thanks

Were you using a different ROM before? And if so did you wipe before installing CM7?

yes did both the things
Check the permissions and you need to be s-off if using root explorer.

That is strange then. Personally, I successfully installed CM7 and then (during the same session within recovery) Google apps and had no problems whatsoever.
What kind of error message did you receive when flashing Google apps in recovery? Did you confirm that checksum of the Google appps file was correct?
And are you sure you downloaded this file:
http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip
And no some other by a mistake?
I just updated to the new market and it will not show any updates or allow me to download apps. Just hangs on starting download. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the update, wiping data and rebooting. Any other ideas?
Using the stock Rom. Had no problems on miui but I need to stay unrooted for work :/

Hello,
I recently installed [ROM]22-01-2012|LC ICS 4.0.3 - 1.0.beta4 | AOSP + CM + COMMUNITY on my Desire HD.
For the first day I had no issues and was loving it, however now I have an issue I can't quite figure out. I can browse the Market but anything I try to installed gets a 404 error. I have cleared the app cache and data and even wiped the Dalvik cache but still get this error.
I haven't flashed GAPPS yet not sure if I should or which version. ANyone else have this and know how to fix it?
Thanks for your time!

Try downloading market.apk from the web and replace the existing one with that.

Thanks I have tried that and I get the same error. I have tried to push from my PC through the market, using the market itself and through boat browser all generating the same error.
I just reflashed the ROM as it was working but still getting that error.

I have tried to use enabler but it has changed nothing. I find it odd that I have no difficulty browsing the market, it's just the installs that fail. I have tried to install a younger version as well but Titanium Backup doesn't seem to want to remove it. I appreciate your help thus far!
Well not sure if was the enable r or what, but one thing I hadn't tried was to update an app, and that worked! After that I was able to install fresh apps. Weird. Anyway it's all good, mods can lock this thread and I appreciate your help!

Running on my AT&T rooted Galaxy S3:
Andriod 4.0.4
Kernel Version 3.0.8
Build: Diet ICS v7.11.12
Several weeks, no issues.
This morning I went to install 2 updates and each update said "Insufficient Storage".
I can not download any updates or new apps without getting this error.
If I uninstall an app, I can not re-install it without getting the same error "Insufficient Storage".
I have cleared the cache and data under Google play store app info
I have gone into recovery mode, cleared cache and dalvik cache.
Nothing is working.
Any help would be much appreciated
This seems to be happening a lot. Especially with custom ROMs. This used to happen to me but when I had the app installed on my sd card...

Yeah, the same happens on my NS4G but I've found that leaving the Play Store app pulling down the notification bar while it's updating and leaving the screen on helps. It sometimes takes 2 or 3 tries but it usually works eventually.

Same thing happened to me. Get root explorer, go to /app/data then look for files with the name of the app and a little orange shield on it, delete it and your good to go

It has something to do with stored ODEX file (i am not sure what it means). One solution I found is to install lucky patcher app and just open it. It will delete the unused ODEX files and you wont see the issue again.
Click on thanks if this resolves your issue!

This worked for me. Thanks.
I never found the .ODEX file, but in /data/app with ES File Explorer I found the .apk of the program and just deleted that. I then went and updated the app and it let me download and install this time. Hope that helps anyone else having this issue!
I was having similar issues with tons of apps. Eventually I just moved half of the garbage to the SD and deleted a bunch of bloatware with Titanium Backup. After a nice solid battery pull everything updates fine now.

Hi all
I've installed Mildwild on my desire and I'm loving the rom.
Only problem is that the play store app crashes every time, think its a force close error but it disappears so fast I can't see it properly.
Any ideas?
Have tried some modded play store apks and the original a couple of times. When I install them they work for a few minutes then the error occurs again.
Its a strange one and I'm stumped!

Have you tried uninstalling updates and clearing the cache? This method worked for me.

Which cache would I be clearing here?
Will uninstall everything related to play store and try again.
Thanks again.

By uninstalling updates I meant for the Google play app not the apps downloaded from the play store. Clear the cache and uninstall updates through Settings > Applications > Manage applications ( or something similar ) and tap Google play.

Check the attached images if you need help. Currently I'm running ICS but it should be similar.

Hey, I've got the exact same problem with the current MildWild 4.4.
I'm doing a completely fresh install, partitioned the sdcard with 4ext (newest version), did the factory reset + cache/dalvik wipe, flashed MildWild, linked my google account..aaaaaaaand.. play store crashes. Undoing the update + deleting cache didn't help, sadly.
I've read about installing the 3.7.11 version and downloaded it, but I can't just install it regularly and am not sure how to do it via adb or anything :/
edit: Nevermind, got it. Turns out root explorer isn't as scary as i thought
