Hi, to get a feeling about the CM9 - ICS progress, i am building CM9 Kangs from the actual cyanogen source.
Fell free to use them ON YOUR OWN RISK.
This is not an official cyanogenMOD release and you will not get official support from the cyanogen dev team.
I will update the KANG if there are important changes.

erm... there are no changes in the sources... only the ones from the original google devs...?
or where did you get the Sources from?

as i said it is the cyanogen source.
github.com/cyanogenmod
So no actual CM Code in it, only stock code.
Yeah and also using these gapps gtalk is FC for me (in my own KANGs of the source that is.)
edit: There are minor changes from Google's sources: http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#q,status:merged+branch:ics,n,z

Oh, okay. Thank you. Only looked on the commits of github and there was nothing. Thank you for the link.

I'll give it a try. Thanks for uploading. My Laptop is too weak to compile CM9

Actually, a cm9 kang is here. Is the op a CM team dev? If not, does this have the approval of the team?

Would love to see what work and what doesn't before flashing..
I wiped and flashed my GN yesterday and accidentally deleted all my backups, so i spent like 2 hours restoring the phone.. Don't feel like doing it again today.
Any willing guinea pigs around ??

Well, aren't those kangs from Koush? AFAIK he is a developer for CM, and a very talented one. But still, it's open-source, and he gives the proper credits. As long as people are aware this build is -probably- far from perfect (e.g. non working camera etc) then it's fine. I think. Unless CM object
EDIT: nvm, thought you mentioned the Nexus S (it's getting late)

this is the first kang of cm i see around for galaxy nexus. and i've had the phone pretty much since its release.
Naturally, I know cm9 nightlies aren't available yet, I've used cm7 kangs built by me on SGS pretty much since last year, so i'm used to it's release schedule (NO ETA).
As it's not official, it will get no support from CM team. If you search around, you'll see that no kang can be called a CM rom unless it's released by a member of the team.

Kangs has been posted on twitter by the guys at euroskank: http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/skankwich/maguro/
Maguro is our code name so I'm sure those are the CM9 kangs for our phones. It just hasn't been posted on XDA but its been going around twitter for the past couple of days.
You don't have to be a developer at CM to post their releases if its kangs. He's not taking credit, it is all credited to CM and CM is purely open source. There isn't really a "developer" for CM, if you want to contribute. Go ahead, nothings stopping you, it just has to be approved thats all. (Pretty much what you said), and I'm sure everything is working. I had a Nexus S using CM9 kangs constructed by FuZZ and guys at euroskank and everything worked except video.
So I'm sure that maguro would be fine because all the library files for Galaxy Nexus are already available. But everything is still a alpha build. It's considered alpha because a lot of the CM9 features are incomplete. The latest kang comes with DSP Manager so it's getting closer and closer for a beta as everyday goes by.
Numerous tweets (according from twitter) from various "CM devs" such as kmobs, koush (and probably more) have the device so I'm sure it will receive official support.
Can someone point me to the link to the new cm10 nightlies? I can't find them in goo manager or here. I see some Kangs, but I am looking for the actual builds by the cm build bot.
There aren't any yet. Be patient.
I thought there were. I saw something on google plus that they just merged some cm features into the latest build.

Doesn't mean that there are builds available to public.
Please someone correct me, if I'm wrong.
Changes are being merged but the buildbot isn't currently building.
Check out fitsnugly's thread. He does a good job. Used his cherry picked Roms in my N1 days.

On Rom Manager go to "Download ROM". Look for "Burnsra". He is the CM9 developer for Sprint Gnex. Posted an experimental build with most things working.

How come I don't see an official build alpha or what nots available for GSM nexus?
All I see is kanged versions but not the cm10 supported by cyanogenmod.
I check their Google + and I'm seeing previews for all these different devices but not for galaxy nexus. What's up with that? I thought galaxy nexus was a developers phone. I sold my gs2 for this

Patience... This phone has a good 2 years of development left to go. Rule number one of CyanogenMod is to not ask for ETAs. It will be released. It will be Great, and all will be right in the world. At least you don't have an HTC phone.
They're holding off on official nightlies for now. If you look at their Gerrit the JB source is already nearly up to par with ICS. End of the day it looks like a JB RC will come much quicker than an ICS RC did; they rewrote much of the code so it's been easier for them to port CM9 features forward.
Euroskank is a good kang...err unofficial build. KalimachoAz (GN maintainer) has some builds as well.
A shortage of ROMs you will not find for the GN. Too many to choose from, it's a first world disaster.
CM 10 is on it's way...
Well as most of you have already known..the cm9 stable mod is already released and the cm team with their burning desire is working on cm10..

are all developers working on getting android 4.2 on the s3 i747?
just wondering
thanks
Take a look at the Android Original Development Forum for this device. Task650 has released an AOKP 4.2 based ROM with minor bugs and CM has released official 10.1 which is 4.2.1. These builds are only 5 days old and contain some minor bugs.

Yes, which is why there are overall less updates being rolled out. The 2 mentioned above are the only 2 at the moment that actually work. There's 2 more I believe, but they're there so that people can help with it's development. They're not fit for every day use. Task's 4.2 is pretty neat, but it's missing a lot of the old aokp features and has (as stated) some minor, but very noticeable bugs. Personally, I'm waiting for the 4.2 release of paranoidkangdroid. And if you want something very stable and nearly bug free. Wait another week or two, maybe three.

Hey all,
I don't see any particular threads here for Slimbean or Slimkat so there doesn't appear to be a better place to try get information on these roms for the S3.
Here's the site link (for ref):
http://www.slimroms.net/index.php/downloads/dlsearch/viewcategory/408-d2att-d2tmo
Up until the release of Slimbean, I've had a flawless experience with Slimrom packs with all my Samsung devices, but the most current Kitkat versions seem to do nothing but explode and never work almost as if there's a kenneling issue.
I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about Slimroms having testing issues or reducing their compatibility for some devices.
I'm half worried I'm gonna have to start looking for a new set of roms for my devices =(.

That's actually the latest version I'm running (build 1738).
With SlimKat is the problem though. It seems like everything after this build explodes on the Galaxy S3.
I'll post in that thread and see if it gets some responses, but they've released several builds since this thread.
Yes I know they haven't updated the thread but there is people that post new links to the updates in the thread
