Serious Screen Problem [photos included]

Hi All. I sold my R800i few months ago to my good friend- fully working.

Now he is facing some serious problems, he said just happened itself .
Sometimes working fine until i press back, home, settings or search button. When is working touch screen seems to be working perfect, Power button working fine, i can feel that phone vibrate etc. Sound is working as well
Looking for some advice before i will reassembly the phone.

Flex cable is probably broken. Send it to service, remember, relock bloader!

Um, if you relock bloader, you will get a new phone, cuz they wount know that you have did those processes like custom ROM, unlocked bloader or kernel..
Its like getting your warranty back

Seen as ur from dublin theres a good place which will fix it for 15euro and have it back within 4-5hours. As the above poster said re-lock the bootloader and flash stock. I brought it to this place and had to re-lock and unroot. They never noticed the difference or didnt care. PM me for the location and details

unless you want to fix it your self... there is a video on how to disassembly the xperia play and purchase the flex cable of ebay... ive seen many and seen the video... if you need links just PM

yea its the flex cable which needs replacing as i remember my psp going like this a few years ago, easy enough to fix if you'v got a steady hand mind

What did you do before you think you have a brick... Not to be rude, you just don't seem to be very knowledgeable about this stuff. Don't need you spending money on things that might be a simple fix.

I flash a rom from another galaxy model

If it wasn't for a Galaxy S III US version it is bricked pretty much, if it was a US version like at&t or Sprint I'm pretty sure it is savable. Go to www.mobiletechvideos.com and you will find all you need to know about jtag. I bricked my SGS2 and sent it to them. The total time it took for the whole process was 10 days. I highly recommend them.

At first boot, I got a mini boot-loop but then it automatically started up.
This rom is really fast. I have yet to try 4G though

Thanks for this. It's pretty snappy. Can't sync fully with Google, calendar and contacts only. Play store force closes. Thanks for your effort, though!

apps aren't downloading for me. and permission mamager for root access is force closing. :/

What im really waiting for.. almost give up.. but i see new hope.. trying it soon when im on my PC..

[Q] Cannot flash new Kernel

i just got a new s2 from t-mobile and of course I wanted it to be like my SGS4g. So I try to root it. I can't install anything by CWM, always get a signature verification failure. Odin tries to flash,but always fails. Superoneclick hangs on step 5. this phone is locked down good! I hope someone got through this.

Wow. I flashed the script, and everything was fine. TWRP was installed. Phone started. Got ready to flash the phone again, TWRP shutdown for no apparent reason, and now phone will not power on. At all. Period.
Luckily, I have only had the phone for 20 days and able to get it replaced under warranty.
I think my rooting days are over.

And all you wanted was root?

I tried every button combination, with and without battery. When attached to a charger or computer, there is nothing on the display. When attached to the computer, the computer sees nothing. It is truly dead.

hardbricked s3 :(

so i hardbricked my s3 today with the perseus kernel. i was just wondering if there was a way to fix it WITHOUT a jtag, id rather fix it ,myself if i can and also all your personal data stays in tact and i dont want to just send all that to someone in hopse of a jtag service. any ideas? thanks guys!

I found a shop near me for 65$ jtags and he gives 5 days to see if it will re brick. I might just do that I think ive done enough damage

Or you can follow that thread they posted and fix it yourself for $0.00 save some money and learn something along the way. Just saying..

i used the unbrick method via cygwin got the download screen and everythings kosher. now to spend that 70$ on somethin nice
