Quick question about Odin back to Stock - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Guys if I modified my Rom AND Kernel (JB AOKP on both) flashing Odin to stock I747UCALG1_I747ATTALG1_I747UCALG1_HOME.tar.md5 puts both the rom AND kernel back to STOCK? Not just the rom right?
Also do you typically return and get a new phone from a reseller, the store you bought it at, or the carrier?

[Q] Flash stock firmware from Cyanogenmod 10

I'm currently running CM10-Stable and would like to revert back to stock.
Is it safe to flash firmware stock roms coming directly from CM-10? Or do I need to first flash a stock based ROM, then proceed to firmware flash?

[Q] Will Going Back to Stock With Keis Lose My Unlocked Status.

Hi,
Rogers is supposed to be releasing Jellybean later this month. If I use Keis to go back to stock from KyanROM will my phone still be unlocked to use with another carrier?
Peace,
KedarWolf.
P.S. I do plan to go to a Jellybean based ROM after debloated custom ROM is made based on the official Jellybean release.
You won't lose your unlock, just root. Its the same as using ODIN to return to stock.
Thanks!!!

[Q] Flashing stock

So I've gone ahead and installed the Redpill kernel on my note 2. I am on stock firmware and have CWM recovery installed.
Everything is fine, no issues, but I'd like to know in advance how I can return to stock in case there are any issues.
Will the kernel, firmware, recovery and modems all be returned to stock when I:
- upgrade firmware through Kies;
- flash to stock through Odin (using Odin v3.07 and the stock android 4.1.1 from October)
Which would be the recommended method?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Well, I flashed back to 4.1.1 (since I have the 0xf7 eMMC) through Odin 3.07 and all is good. Battery seems amazing!
Flash a firmware newer than LL7 if you want to be safe about SDS...

[Q] If I flash this rom, can i go back to my stock rooted 4.1.1

I have a quick question. I am on a stock rooted 4.1.1 att sgs3. I was curious if i flashed this rom/kernal,[ROM/KERNEL][4.4.2] Quantum 3.54 & QuantumKernel 3/7, would i be able to go back to my stock rooted rom if I wanted to? Thanks in advance.
Looks like you are trying to flash a custom ROM. Don't know much about these particular ROMs you mentioned but you need to your research thoroughly on custom ROMs before flashing. You may know most Custom ROMs don't come with their own bootloaders but still have to rely on a manufacturer's bootloader to run. You should, therefore, avoid any ROM that may update your bootloader because this is the only way that you would not be able to return to your previous stock version. If the ROM simply updates the system without mucking with your bootloader, there is no reason why you may not be able to return to stock.
I had an AT&T SG3 on stock 4.1.1 and I was able to flash KitKat (4.4) based CM11 and return to stock 4.1.1 without any hitches. Finally, whilst you are still on stock 4.1.1 I would suggest you take advantage of all the flexibilities offered by this Android version especially free unlocking before you begin tinkering with firmware.
So as long as I dont update my bootloader, I should be fine on going back to stock rooted 4.1.1? Thanks for the info!!
So how do i know what roms dont mess with the bootloader?
Most ROMS do not include an aboot file. I have flashed CM11, Validus, Slim, and Cyanfox and none of these altered the bootloader.
I suggest that you find a ROM you like, unzip the file, and look at the updater script to determine which bootloaders are required to install the ROM on your phone.
Ok guys, thanks for the tips. I just didn't want to get stuck on a firmware where i could not have root anymore or go back to a stock rooted rom.

Return to Stock From CM12.1

I'm currently running CM12.1 on my phone. I love it, but I want to return to stock and give my phone an "out of the box" feel, and return it to the way Samsung made it to be.
I follow the typical instructions found here, but I always get an error (no screenshot available. Sorry!). I'm running Windows 10 and I have the proper drivers installed. Is there something I'm missing?
If the phone is running a 4.3 or newer bootloader, you cannot flash back to stock using a stock rom from sammobile.
Before flashing anything, I recommend verifying the bootloader and modem before flashing anything else. An improper bootloader and modem combination could brick the phone.

Alright. Thanks. A bit disappointed, but thanks anyway. Besides, CyanogenMod isn't bad.
I was just running CM 12.1 / 13 and I was able to revert back to Roger's Stock ROM Android 4.4.2
Try Odin3 and installing the stock rom. But you should always verify the bootloader.

If the OP is running the i747, it is the the AT&T version of the s3. AT&T never released a full firmware release for use in Odin after 4.1.1. AT&T only released OTA updates that upgraded the phones from 4.1.1 to 4.4.2. In order to flash a stock AT&T 4.4.2 ROM, it needs to be done from TWRP.
