Recently I got the nexus but the keyboard is always making me mistype. I usually have spend more time checking errors and fixing them than the actually messages. Does this happen to anyone else or is it just me? Should I try swiftkey3?
My usual errors are responsible for the space bar and delete.

Don't think theres anything inherently wrong with the stock keyboard. Think you gotta put the blame on yourself here. Try another keyboard?

that's what I'm assuming but was curious if others might be having a similar problem. Ghezz IMA try a new keyboard.

My only issues are I always hit b instead of the space bar and when I get to typing fast it misses keys, but I type really fast.
Sent from my AOSP Android 4.1.1 Galaxy Nexus
Yeah still having the same issue. Seems to happen when typing way too fast and when I'm not paying attention to the keyboard.
Just got to get use to the keyboard, I was familiar with a 3'7 keyboard before the nexus lol. Sorry guys.

you should go into setting and set the keyboard to agressive correction grammar

Can Anyone help here, Info of Google is limited or am using wrong Key words,
My Previous phone was the N97 and perfect Keyboard, Long Space Bar!!!!
This phone regardless how much i try i cannot Stop hitting that Full Stop key,
Everything els is Perfect,
Is there any mod? hack tweak app or anything to remove that Full Stop key to the right hand side of the space key :-(
lol
Thanks
I don't know of any such hack. The Americans would call that a "period" instead of a full stop
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
there are many keyboard replacement options. personally i didn't like on screen keyboards at all until i started using swype. beat one out there i've used
Heh, that's ironic! Saying how good a keyboard is, and the auto-correct gets it wrong!

Thanks
I looked and looked and looked and could not find anything,
Maybe one day,
But in the hunt i come accross swype (Also noticed someone els post they use it in this thread)
Wow!!! very good very easy looks like i may of overcome my issue lol
The full stop instead of space has been bugging me for ages as well. Just trying out new keyboard from market called swiftkey beta. Seems better so far but no double tap space for a full stop might become a problem instead...
Swype in landscape moves the space bar to the side by the way
after trying every flavor out there, ive decided to stick with di18.
i am picky, i know, but the stock rom (rooted) is 100% what I like. there is not one thing that doesnt work the way i like it to.... so.... on that note
ive removed all the sprint apps, update.zip and its rooted but i cannot get the darn thing to stop asking me about the update...

make it stop!
I believe you could just rename or remove the systemUpdater.apk and it would stop checking for updates
.. I think thats the correct name but if its called something else please correct me
Edit: I would just use Titanium and "Freeze" the system updater at first. but i think this is removed on custom roms anyway so shouldn't be a problem to remove it

well, im a big fan of the syndicate rom but it carries over what i dont like
the "google" search is slower than the stock search
the browser seems slower
messages in the "call log" annoy me
cant search in phone app by last name
keyboard seems to "miss" letters
except syndicate, dk and ce based roms just seem slower
if i could build roms i would and remove the carrier iq and add the extra functions when you hold down the power button.
btw, im a guy.... i need to change my sn lol
so, im going to just remove system updater, hope that works
I'm with you,I liked DK28 the best out of all 3 FROYO releases, and I actually had DI18 on all day today just to see what it was like again; And I forgot how damn smooth it was compared to this hacked-up **** we have right now,I know EC05 is young (and I plan on building EC05 still) but I'm making a DK28/EB13/EC05 ROM with no carrier IQ,and most if not all EC05 mods should work,I start on that as soon as I get off work.

What you listed doesn't make sense...
the "google" search is slower than the stock search It is the stock search.
the browser seems slower Fast and checkerboardless in SRF.
messages in the "call log" annoy me Not present in SRF.
cant search in phone app by last name Fair.
keyboard seems to "miss" letters Better than DI18 and user-adjustable in SRF.
I don't think you need to defend SRF kOnane... I think my problem is UV kernels, but I still can't narrow down the static/pops. But this is what I've seen sofar, when fast scrolling (scroll fast, then remove finger fast) no pops, but if I scroll with my finger on the touch screen the entire time,it pops like crazy ; Which makes me think its the touch screen driver,or interference on the bus when using the touch screen...

Hi, I was hoping someone can help me out. I really like the new keyboard since the update. The one thing that I cant figure out is what happened to the spell checker. It no longer automatically substitutes the correct word like in the old keyboard. For example when i type teh instead of the, it doesnt correct it. I checked all setting and have spell checking turned on.
Any ideas?

That's one of the biggest complaint people had about it so in pretty sure they just took it off, I don't use it tho but I did find it better then the original rom one

Your best bet is to try another keyboard, maybe SwiftKey.
Also, for future reference, there is no need for the second post in a thread to quote the whole first post because it's obvious that whatever the second post says is a response to the first post. Let's get this sorted out people, so I don't have to keep saying it, mmmkay?
X2 for swiftkey ^_^

i am running the xquizit v16 rom and using the keyboard that it came with.. everything works fine, i type in teh and it corrects it to the.
X3 for SwiftKey. I'm using this as we speak. Lol
The best keyboard out to date.
Sent from my only blue phone... Pebble blue.
I've been using Swiftkey 3 for a while, and it's always been slow but I could live with that, but now it bothers me.
The problem is: when I type I and I already finished a word I still have to wait for the "animation" or what to catch up with me.
I've Googled it up and there are other people with this problem, but with no solution.
Do you know how could I fix this, or recommend a new keyboard (which has a good prediction system)?

ics keyboard
Thanks, tried it, it was okay, but then it recommended JB keyboard which seems even better (at least for me).
Is it just me or does everyone else agree that the stock keyboard is unusable. Simple texts or emails take 5 times longer then just using the android keyboard. Its horrible. Horrible prediction and does actions I never even ask it to do. Haven't even got to the lag!!! I know there is a mod to fix the lag but I don't think it does much. Anyone else dealing with this?? Anything I can do?
I can't say I agree. The keyboard on the LG G3 has to be one of the best I have ever used. Very close to the one on the iPhone in terms of responsivenss, pretty much no lag and the predictions are quite good.
Have you tried the advanced settings for the keyboard?
The only issue I have with it is not inserting spaces as I'm swiping.
Tbh i love it. Its really great.
What lag are you talking about thats because of the LG keyboard?
For me the keyboard is very fast and the prediction is perfect. It looks good aswell and is very customizable.
It's just you the stock key board is one of the first I have not had or wanted to change soon at I turned the phone on
First stock keyboard that hasn't made me switch to swiftkey... Yet anyway
Glad I noticed this post. I had automatically installed swiftkey and turned it off for a while to see if I liked the LG keyboard. It seams very responsive and easy to use. I love the way you can increase the size of the keyboard.
Yeah the keyboard is pretty bad.
I used it for 1 month straight and was too tired of its errors. I didn't see any lag with it but things like swiping to "is" and getting "it's" drove me nuts and wasted a ton of time correcting. Far too many of these types of errors.
Back to Swype and it works perfect as always.
I like it at first but now reverted back to the Google Keyboard. I find the predictive not that good, say you wanted totype "Ship" it would automatically correct it to "Shop". Any word typed that is not in the dictionary it replaces with one that is, its trying to be too clever.
But the biggest problem is I get this bug where I can only type numbers.
There are good things about this keyboard, numbers shown on top row and excellent spacing of keys.

I'm having this same problem. There has got to be a fix for it, I've tried everything I can think of.
Ok, so switch to another keyboard. Seriously, these types of threads are out of control here. Are we getting all the rejects from the rest of XDA? Are all the smart folks buying other phones? What is going on here.
That was a little harsh. Last I checked this was a discussion board.

You know, you can easily ignore threads with titles that don't interest you instead of complaining... This is a thread about a feature on the phone that this forum is for - it is perfectly on topic.
I agree with the OP its one of the worst I've used because of how tiny the buttons are, I just switched to stock Google and am typing much faster because of it.
Just use Swiftkey, it's free !

No i didnt although opening it again after reading your post and i have noticed that the keyboard updated to a more modern ios type look which is nicer than the bubbly one it shipped with.
Install the Google keyboard, it's fantastic.
Well, kinda agree on this...i stopped using it too, try the google L keyboard... I found it easier to type and use as well. Is available on xda, just search for L keyboard... Comes as apk, can be aplied on non rooted device
