Just downloaded it...
It's not the same CPU, kernel config file says "Broadcom BCM21654", not 21553, and Android sources (of course INCOMPLETE) says "arm-v7a" while our Y is an arm-v6
What about gpu?

But I've got something I hope will be useful ....
There is a Samsung released open source ICS platform for a phone whose model no. is GT-S5302 which seems to be Galaxy Pocket Duos.
dropbox.com/s/ju682vxor6e60sw/OSRC%20S5302.PNG
opensource.samsung.com/reception.do
So what's soo intresting about it ?
It has got the same BCM21553 processor as our beloved Galaxy Y and most of its hardware is same except reduced screen size and dual sim capabilities.
I couldn't find much details about this phone as it is being sold in Russia apparently so i got review link showing the details and here are a few screenshots taken from the video embedded in the review confirming the processor and RAM details...

dropbox.com/s/5c1f6yknlizlo1t/S5302%20RAM.PNG
I hope this kernel will be useful for the Devs to build an ICS ROM for Galaxy Y which we've been waiting for long ....
I tried to share information which is true to the best of my knowledge, if anything is wrong please ignore this post.
Forgive me as i could not embedd the screenshots as this is my first post @XDA.

can you (or someone else) confirm from kernel source (if you already download) if soc is BCM21553 ?
btw, welcome to xda
maybe cant confirm yet because the release of the phone is in russia... maybe months from now
I downloaded it
and that's what is in it :-

GT-S5302_Kernel.tar.gz

Now, I've seen that HTC will going to give us a new smartphone for medium class, with SENSE 4 and ICS.
I think that when her source code is released we can start to port it, because have really similr specifications like on our phone.
- CPU Snapdragon 1 at 600 MHz (I imagine that's downclocked, but ours is Snapdragon MSM7227)
- Screen at 3.5 (320x480)
- 512 MB of RAM
- 4 GB of ROM
- Camera of 5 MP
It have three colours, red, white and grey... I love red

Sense 4 is actually pretty good. Not so heavy and if i might say great improvement over 3.0 and 3.5
But porting it? ...i dont think so...does any of 3.5 roms here works flawlesly?...again i dont think so...see thats problem with porting, never as original.
So i personaly stay true to my stock sense and CM7 or 9 when i wanna try smtn new.
All the best,cheers

bigchillin's right...... since there is no development whatsoever..... you could have posted it in the general section
And as far as I can predict, it will be a MSM7227A chipset..... this chipset is just like ours but is an ARMv7 instead ARMv6 so we will face almost the same challenge as we did with the sense 3.5 port
600 Mhz... *facepalm*
I was thinking same thing when I saw this device.

no way !!! it cant happen because once upon a time i have also asked the stupid question to samsung service center to change the board to ace when problem occured with my sgy board they said it cant work..:'( then they replaced with sgy board..
You can change your touch screen size
I think that
I tried it on a nokia 7500
If we have the ic size similr to the one in the phone then we can have bigger screen but new case is also required and we need to change build property too to set resolution
Chinese phone screen avaliable at very low cost

Wow that Chainfire guy is a genius, first Chainfire3D to help us reduce quality of HD games and play them and now a mobile Odin. Anyways even if there were a few errors here and there on the app I doubt xda moderators would allow someone to post here a modified version as this app costs money, and such post will be considered as warez. If you have a problem you can always contact the dev, he even has a profile here ofcourse.

Impossible without proper BCM drivers/documentation, you wouldn't even have proper multitasking with only 290MB of RAM. Anything higher than ICS also requires Kernel 3.x for vysnc and proper hardware acceleration, ARMv6 devices are still stuck with Kernel 2.6.35.x so hopes of a proper JB port is almost zero. Broadcom didn't even provide ICS drivers.
