Hi guys, anyone have a trouble with executing su in adb or trying to mount rw in system with root explroer? It just refuses to even though root check says I'm rooted.
I need this to get a newer version of CWMR and such...
That's strange, I have zero problems getting root in an adb shell, and was able to remount /system as rw both on the device and via adb. Have you opened the Superuser app and checked to see if it needs updated?

Can't gain root access for some reason. Can you link me to a superuser zip you used?
What process did you use to get superuser? Mine is working fine.

Flashed the zip suggested in the thread rooting glide on 4.0.4 in development

That's weird. Maybe it was a bad su flash? I had a problem before where it said I was rooted but titanium backup said I wasn't.

From my post in the 4.0.4 leak thread:

Rooted here, was as simple as flashing a superuser zip from CWM. This is the zip I used, I downloaded several to find one that would work and I honestly don't recall where I snagged it from, so apologies to whoever I stole it from.
I'll be setting up my fstab to swap the internal and sd card now, and restoring everything I use from TB.

I didn't bother to use the latest version as I was just replacing it with the latest SuperSU once I had root, and it worked just fine.
It gives me status 0...how'd you get it to flash?
Edit ugh also without my SIM card in there's no power menu or lock screen l

I've read through these forums and even had a coworker who has done this for a while try to help me, but still not able to get it.
I followed the guide here
It works perfectly step by step using ClockworkdMod Recovery.

My only need to do this is to use the Wireless Tether. I downloaded it from code.google... site (i did search for the one compatible with the EVO). But I'm getting this error:
I then followed this link here to unroot the phone which worked fine.
I then attempted the guide again with Amon Ra recover, and i'm still getting the same issue. I've even downloaded Root Explorer to try and remove Superusers, but it would not give me overwrite ability because it said i was in read only (unrooted) status.
Any help or suggestions would be VERY grateful!
If you're s-off, you need to flash the Superuser zip through recovery, or flash a rooted rom. Without Superuser (and possibly busybox) installed, you won't be able to use root apps such as wireless tether or root explorer.
I did flash superusers through the recovery, but it never asks for permission when I start the tether.
I did this on my Samsung Epic, and it would always state SU was giving permission. I'm getting nothing on this.
You have to flash superuser apk and binary for superuser to work and u need to make sure u get super user efghi from androidsu.com and the matching efghi binary then go to the superuser app and update binary to make sure u have the latest to function properly
Edit: u will possible have to flash a custom kernel to get access yo wireless tether as well or you could simply flash a rom with the hotspot hack and have no need for wireless tether at all as sprint hotspot will work then

Okay, I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
That last part did it! Thank you so much!
Dear All, I am using the samsung note 2 GT-N7100 International Version.
Before Update
Baseband Version
N7100DXDLK5
Build Number
JZO54K.N7100XXDMB4
After Update
Baseband Version
N7100DXDLK5
Build Number
JZO54K.N7100XXDMC3
before update i was rooted without problems with busybox installed.
i rooted using ODIN and using this md5 file CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar.md5
after i updated of course i lost my root and device status was changed to "normal"
however, when i tried to root the same way using the same file, i thought everything was fine. the device status is changed to modified.
also, titanium backup is still able to perform its weekly backup schedule.
however, when i use "checkroot" it says my device is not rooted. before update it will tell me it is rooted.
anyone can shed some light?
If other applications which needs root are working fine then 'checkroot' may seeking for busybox, which won't be available if you have rooted with cf auto root method. Titanium using its own busybox.

SuperSU is available in application drawer ?
If not download from market. Just to say, it seems you are using market version of busybox then sometime it mess up device. if you need busybox then flash using CWM.
Super su not installed. Should I install it? Or remove busybox first?

First install supersu from market, then it should work.
Report back if doesn't work.

Hey I know this is probably a repeat thread but im having trouble finding an answer. This would help me tremendously.
I install a ROM, it already has TB installed. Its not Pro. I purchased pro and want to install.
When try to install I get an error saying signature already exists. I dont see a way to uninstall because it was
Built into the Rom. Please let me know how to remove. Also is the removable process the same on each android version (ics, jb etc.)
Thanks for your help!
Use a root explorer mount the system as write and delete the app. Look in /system/app/

I posted a titanium removal zip. I know there are quite a few of people who don't use it.
Plus I can't put pro version in a ROM, because you have to pay for it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40805334&postcount=3871
And for some reason it doesn't work but, it should.
use ES file explorer or root explorer (make sure system is read and write R/W)
go to system/app and delete com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup-1.apk
and reboot.

you have to reboot for the changes to take place. I had this same issue before, if you use titanium backup to freeze itself and destroy market link (destroy the market link first) then uninstall with root explorer you shouldn't have anymore issues. All you'll need to do is download from market after a reboot and it should recognize the pro key
Okay my problem is that some Apps detect that i am not rooted ( when i am actually ).
I used CF Auto Root -->> Installed TWRP with GooManager -- >> Flashed Infamous S4 -->> Customized my SGS4 with 3Minit & Nottach Xposed. If i wasnt rooted i wouldnt be able to even use TWRP/ 3Minit / Nottach right ?
BUT the problem is some apps detect that i am not rooted:
I was trying to get Adaway / AdFree to work but they both say im either not rooted or cant find su binary.

SuperSU doesn't even pop up when i try to use AdFree/AdAway ( also re-installed 5+ times ).
Even Root Checker Detects that my phone IS NOT rooted.
But i do have SuperSU Pro and my phone IS rooted ( Other Apps can access Root also)
So i dont understand why these apps are saying im not rooted when i am.
Anyone know how i can fix this ?
Update super user, perhaps?

Shouldnt it be updated . I got the latest infamous S4 rom and installed SuperSU pro a few hours ago.
Also, i just looked in the play store and there isnt any new updates for SuperSU.
Solution found. Xprivacy was blocking certain apps that looked suspicious . Didn't even give me a notification that it blocks those apps.
The su binary are not present flash differant su one the includes the binary files

I have been trying for a while now to get the APK for S-Note to install on stock 4.4.4 and fails every time I try. So online I found another way I could do this is to use root explorer thats in ES Explorer. The problem is the copying to anything on root fails even though the root option is enabled in ES Explorer and my phone is rooted. So my thought is that maybe the file explorer is messed up or something. I know the APK for S-note works because it worked prior to me going to stock from another customer rom. Any suggestions?
Did you mount system as rw?

I don't remember seeing that as an option. Where in the app do I do this?
Tap on root explorer, not the button, then you will see this screen:

"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Go to mount r/w, then select rw for system
That worked, however I am getting a describe error. It says there is a problem parsing the package. I am not understanding why this APK does not work. The icon looks normal when its not in the system app folder. When its copied there I see the the android gremlin thing sitting in a box. This is extremely aggravating because I know this worked on 4.4.2 just fine.
