Hi,
I just installed the ROM and noticed it cannot connect to a secured WiFi network. I tried on a WPA2 and a WEP secured one, none of them work, but the phone connects to unsecured WiFi with no problem.
I really need WiFi but I can't remove the securities of my network for obvious reasons. So is this a known issue? Does anybody have a similar problem?

No..im using that rom and wifi works perfectly even secured one...
Just try to full wipe before flashing
Sent from my Desire HD
I did a full wipe, I did two actually: one from the recovery and another one in aroma during the installation, just to be sure in case I forgot.
I have the same problem with Sabsa Prime and JellyTime post Beta 7 versions.
I guess I'll stick with JellyTime B7 for now, it works just fine apart from the Youtube bug.

Tested radios:
Radio 12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19
Radio 12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M
Radio 12.69.60.29_26.17.14.11_M
Nothing works for me. I think thats no a radio problem. I can only connect to Open Wifi.
Ohh Im not really sure why, but now it works for me.
What i do? I don't really know what exactlly ... I do a lot of thinks, but I know what I do before it start working, I will explain:
I was reading a lot about to turn on/off wifi in terminal mode, but all time people use linux program iwconfig ... but in my BO3 Rom this file doesn't exist. Then I read about to get it from any program and I do it.
I get "WiFi Tether for Root Users" apk, open it and in the subfolder raw I get IWCONFIG and copy it to my /system/bin.
Few minuts later I see my network works again ... casuallity? Waiting your test !
P.D: Excuse me for my bad english !!!
Thanks everybody for your replies.
Got it themacboy, thanks for the help, I'll try that as soon as I can!
I tried it, but it didn't change anything for me.
I'm still stuck with JellyTime B7 for now.
No wifi, no hot spot, screw u guys i'm going home
For me (dhd ace) wifi does not work at all. It worked only one time when i installed the rom (3.1) but i did not try to connect to any networks, just saw that it found some. Then i tried to turn on the hot spot and it worked! But for some reason the network i created was without any security although i did choose it to be secured with wpa2. Anyway i could not connect to that network from my pc. I restarted my phone and now the wifi is not turning on at all. I guess i gonna have to go back to the good OLD and BORING and morally OUTDATED arhd 6.3.3

Moved from Development section and added more information.
I have a Desire with customized Rom with Data2Ext. I can connect my WiFi. But when I go to somewhere (let's the WiFi disconnect) and come back, my Desire can connect to WiFi without any problem but I can't access my network.
More information is as below:
1. from my pc, I can't ping to my phone.
2. the configuration seems good in my phone(busybox ifconfig).
3. from phone, can't ping to the net gate.
Andriod 2.2
Baseband: 32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17
Kernel: 2.6.32.15
Internal Version: 2.29.405.5
I tried to shutdown the network interface and to bring it up again to see if some issue happens during starting up. But I couldn't shutdown that interface.
Everything is ok if I turned off my WiFi and turned on again.
Looks like some settings were not reseted when connection was back.
Anybody can help me in this case?
Try a diffrent rom. One without D2EXT etc. Use a almost stock i.e. Leedroid.
So you can be sure that its not about your hardware.

Actually, this version is a almost stock ROM. Maybe it's something related to router definition.
I will try another router to see if the problem still exists.
does your phone acquire an address from the router? could be a lease-time issue, or DHCP issue

For the 1st question, my answer is yes. I could see the address and I also could see the route via terminal. But from my phone, I could not able ping to the network gate.
Lease-time issue, it could be. Don't know, how to confirm that?
DHCP issue, seems not.
After upgrading to ARHD 5.1.4 i cant connect to my home network via wifi. In the office i have no problems. Reflashed radio, checked passwds, but i cant find a solution. Any ideas?
changed to LeeDroid 3.0.3 and the problem insists. Any ideas?
WiFi connection problems
Hi there,
Same here! (home: connection = OK, but no data will pass through; office: connection = OK and data fully functional).
Have been looking around a bit for WiFi problems and Gingerbread. Haven't come up with any solution so far, but the problem seems to be Android 2.3.3 and HTC twitters they are on it.
Which won't help so far...
Tried a patch too, but that didn't bring any solution neither...
BTW: they do say it has to do with WiFi dropping below -88dB. Well, I'm almost sitting on top of my WiFi Access point, so that can't be the problem neither.
Regards,
delete your SSID (or select "forget"), whichever option you have.
reboot the rooter.
Try again.
i did hard reset to my modem but no success. Is there a particular way to delete ssid?
I had similar problem when my SSID was on hidden.
Could that be the issue here?

Sorry to say your solution didn't do the trick for me.
It still bothers me why the signal and reception quality are super, connection is established but data won't flow
Regards
Same issue here, going to go back to 2.2.1 see if that makes any difference
well thats strange, any 2.2.1 froyo rom including stock and custom WiFi works perfectly, any 2.3.3 rom and my wifi refuses to process any data
any ideas guys?
Today I updated my ROM from LeeDroid v2.5 to v3.0.8.2. I wiped my phone first. After this I rebooted, then rebooted again into recovery and installed the recommended radio (32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08). Then I restored my apps+dat with Titanium back up and rebooted again.
It soon became apparent that whilst mobile internet was working fine, WIFI wasn't. While my phone will connect to the router it won't connect to the internet. If I enter the local IP of my router I can browse the settings fine. I tried "forgetting" the network and re-entering security code but this still didn't work.
I restored my v2.5 nandroid backup and the internet worked fine, the radio is still 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08.
So I did a fresh install of the v3.0.8.2 ROM and tried connecting to WIFI again and again the same problem.
So my question is, is this an inherent problem with the ROM, and if so why does no one else seem to have this problem, or is it a setting issue?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Also I tried changing the WIFI channel as suggested in another WIFI thread, and this didn't change anything. Except the WIFI channel obviously.
And I tried a static IP address and that didn't work either.

Did you sort it?
I think you need to wait before the router give your router assign an ip for your phone, btw, some router donot fit all phone model
Yes thanks I managed to sort it today by following this thread
Apparently the fault is inherent to Android 2.3.3 and seems to present itself mainly with Thompson routers. It was a static IP I needed, I'd not entered the details properly the first time.
Thanks for the replies!

Hey,
After fresh install of FXP 128 my wifi worked for few hours, but later it refuses to connect to any wifi, because the "signal is too low" or something.. how to fix this?
Actually try getting close to your modem/router first and connecting again or if its still unable to connect reboot your phone

Already did that, didn't help.
Then CM9 probably has an issue with wifi, i guess you'll have to wait until an new RC comes out
Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28442213&postcount=2998
Delete /data/misc/dhcp/dhcp_list
I have no files in dhcp/
Another wifi problem
I was also having trouble getting wifi to work using JJ hybrid mix 3.1 + Arcknight kernel 3,3 and 3,4, had to use stock kernel
The solution from JJ'to reboot after installing he's kernel didn't work for me.
I've had cyanogenmod 7.2 installed prior JJ.
I've wanted to post this error to JJ's thread under development, but I don't have enough posts made.

I'm sorry for mistake. I used to have some similar funny situation... wifi in my brother's house is protected by WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] and my arc can't connect to him router (authorization problem ?!) . I have the same router and the same protection protocol and in my home wifi works good.
(Sorry for ungrammatical English)
I'm also having a poor signal even when my router is very close to me...I have 2 WiFi routers and from both I get the same issue...I have deleted the files on dhcp folder but doesn't have the dhcp_list folder neither...
I have installed CM9 and previously had SE standard ROM 4.0.4
Any idea what to do?
Hey guys,
I tried searching and could not find a similar problem.
Since getting the new rom I have noticed that my wireless router has been experiencing connection issues. all my devices show connectivity but i dont have access to the net. Anyways i decided to have a look and the android is creating multiple Ip entries on the router with the same mac address and everytime I turn the wifi off on my phone the problem does not occur.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Have you tried going into development settings and turning of Android Debugging or ADB over network? Just a suggestion, not sure if it will work.

Why don't you try binding the MAC Address to a static IP so it's no longer able to create multiple entries on the DHCP Table?
tjturko13 - have you tested to use another standard 802.11 Modus - instead "n"? Just switch it at your phone or router.
What router do you have? Can you update the firmware? ^^

i dont think my router allows this, the only option I have is to specify if I want to allow mac filtering.

Did you get your new rom over the air? (Stock rom)
Or did you flash a custom rom?
You have to give us more software informations about your rom. Is your device s-on or s-off?
Stock rom you need the right RUU exe file. Just doubleclick - yes yes yes
Custom rom you need to download the custom boot.img.

Broken:
bluetooth - works in beta 7. Broken in beta 8 +
Working:
Wifi Tethering
camera - not perfect still buggy
Mic
accelerometer
audio
bluetooth
wifi - may not support some channels
hw acceleration
buttons
lights
gps
gsm

I'm sorry for you.
- You could even try to change the wifi-channel to 1, 4 or 6 and disable wifi-security in the second attempt for test only.
- Try also to set a static ip in your phone (for your wlan).
- If you are bored you can reset the whole router to its factory defaults and leave all standard. Just enable wlan (and the isp connection) - but dont change the default ssid, wlan-security or channel etc.
Otherwise I have no more ideas.
With google you can find dozens of users crashing their routers with android or ios phones . Good luck dude!

Ive had this problem to since switching to 'randomblame's kernel based ROMS (jellytime CM, jellytime aokp and jellytime by PACMAN - Paranoid, CM and AOKP).
Apparently it is a kernel issue and the only thing you can do is some of the things above or here
I was here hoping there might be a fix... I tried static IP, changing the router channel, WIFI never sleep etc etc etc.
The only workaround I found so far was to turn off wifi when Im done, it only seems to break when the phone is inactive for 5 minutes +.

Exact same problem here. It took some time before I figured out that my phone was overwriting my gateway's MAC address, but I finally saw that message from another machine in my network:
Code:
arp info overwritten for 192.168.1.254 by 91:31:58:5d:e8:34
1.254 being my gateway's IP. I also tried giving my phone a static DHCP entry but it just didn't change anything. Any useful sysctl maybe ?
FWIW, it seems I "fixed" that issue by making my routers MAC address association permanent on my (manageable) switch. That obviously don't fix the real problem, but does not shut down the router's NIC. FYI, on a GNU/Linux machine, this is done with the arp command, i.e.:
Code:
# arp -s 192.168.1.254 00:ca:fe:ba:be:00
192.168.1.254 being your router's IP
HTH
