Obtaining a flashable zip of the AOSP ROM and doing a full wipe/factory reset before flashing should do it.

You want to download and flash the full factory images from Google.
Here's a nice guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
Here's where you get images: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

Just semantics, but a stock ROM is NOT the same as an AOSP ROM.

Overkill. Kinda like using a jackhammer to punch a hole in a piece of paper.
The kernel is located in the boot image, so all he had to do was download the stock image from Google's site here, extract the boot image, and flash it.

How did you get non-stock ROM of your phone? Did you change the recovery? In general you just reflash the stock ROM in the same way (ie. same size file) as you did to make it non-stock.

I dont think Rooting alone is going to stop your OTA, but changing the ROM is certainly gonna stop you from receiving OTA Updates.
No custom ROM ROM looks stock and I unrooted it says no update and I'm on 4.2

Just wait, update will appear after a short time, reboot some times for accelerate the process

Just flash the latest version with Gnex tool if you are going to use the same rom don't need to do a factory reset

I've recently noticed some rom(i think jedi) allows you to add any app to multiwindow. However, is there any way to do that without flashing a rom and just being rooted? Some sort of apk? I really hope someone takes on that challenge and creates something for us stock but rooted users
If it is possible, please let me know!!
So far the closest you can get to that is by flashing teshxx's stock deodexed ROM and then flashing cmenard's mod. So no, right now there's nothing if you don't want to flash another ROM

It depends. Are you rooted or running custom recovery? If so, you'll have to restore your phone to the stock ROM and recovery or wait until someone creates a .zip of this 4.1.2 ROM. If you are not rooted and just running stock recovery, you can just update OTA without doing anything else.
There's a stock rooted 4.1.2 and modem posted by jovy in Android Development.

Here is the direct download link for the new Samsung Galaxy S3 T999 Official 4.1.2 stock rooted Jellybean rom
with wifi calling, multi-window and the Premium Suite:
Stock Deodexed UVDMD5 Rom - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22946563261203914
It installs like any other rom using CWM or TWRP recovery.
Make sure you do a full wipe/factory reset in recovery before
flashing.
Good luck!
Thanks, I don't suppose there is somewhere to see screenshots?

It's excellent!
I got the update. Looks like the slide to zoom function is gone. I'm glad, I didn't like that.
I tried to add playstore to the new side slide bar but it looks like only the ones on there now will work with it. Seems kind of redubndant to me. Already had the apps on the toolbar.
Question: Currently I am on CM 10.1, any thing special I need to do before downgrading?
