Voice rejection or answer of calls - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I have searched and tried everything I could think of or find. The commercial makes this feature look great and want to give it a shot, but I can't get it working, any ideas?

Settings > Language and input > Voice cmd for apps needs to be ON. Also click on it and make sure the Incoming calls box is checked.

Just double checked that is turned on and unless I have to yell or something to make it work... It still continues to ring when ever I say answer or reject

I've never actually used it so I don't know how well it works...I'm going to try it now. Maybe it isn't recognizing your voice.
EDIT: Didn't work for me. Maybe it is broken in Blazer (I'm running Blazer 1.7) or it didn't work that good to begin with.

On blazer as well. Reject seems to work and answer works too.

Do you have to put your phone to your head like your talking on it for this feature to work?

Seems hit or miss. I do have to kind of raise my voice. Probably because the ringtone is loud.

I'm not sure if this matters but my phone is on vibrate does that matter?

This is a cool feature, but I had trouble getting it to work with the FreeGS3 rom as well.

Vibrate has to be off in stock Rom. Not sure about blazer prolly off.

Blocked calls still coming through

Hi everyone. I've got a bunch of numbers on my block list, but they're still coming through. Phone rings, and I have to manually reject it. When I look at the logs it even shows the blue block circle. Ideally I'd like them to automatically go to vm, but I don't know if that's possible. But, any idea why blocked calls are coming through?
I'm on Darkside 2.5.1.

Why don't you just use 'root call blocker' works flawlessly with a ton of options.

Did it work before? Maybe it's a ROM thing. I know it works perfectly on CM7 because my gf does it to me when I piss her off lol

(Solved) My music Player skips....does yours?

Does anyone have the same problem that i have; when I'm listening to a music player, it skips and just goes to a new song sometimes. I'm not sure if it's because of the "control apps with voice" feature and it's getting confused or what. I turned off the voice command of apps to make sure but it did it that way also.
I also had what sounded like two tracks going at once....not sure.
I was mowing and it was happening and also driving in the car with the window down it was doing it.
Before i close my answer, are you on stock or a custom rom?

I'm stock but rooted. It also happened before rooting.
It sounds like a hardware problem if you had this problem before rooting. Are you able to service the phone?

I don't know what you mean service...you mean like crack the case and start trying to fix things? No way.
I never had it prior to rooting or flashing
a custom Rom but afterwards. I found it to be because I want "safely" ejecting my device from my computer. It was my files becoming corrupt from that had no problems after using eject hardware safely

I think I found the answer; the S voice feature called "control apps".
I turned it off (for music) and had no problems....I turned it back on and when there were loud noises, or loud talking....that's when funny things would happen.

Call echoing

When I get a phone call the person calling me gets an echo but it's fine on my end... I was on aokp/cm10, then went back to stock and the problem still persists. Any ideas?

Same. Every time I talk to my girl she asks if I put her on speaker phone when I didn't.

That's weird, what all did you do after you went back to stock? Wiping process, what rom, and kernel?
I just got off two calls that said I was echoing really bad. I haven't been on cm in a while, and had no reports of it yesterday. What roms are you guys running.

If you're still on stock then try this:
open up your "Phone" app or dialer then press the menu button then "Call settings" then scroll down to "Additional settings" then uncheck the "Noise reduction" feature.
Now try making a phone call to check if whoever you call hear themselves echo. Good Luck.

I was on aokp when it first started doing it, then restored a backup which was stock + root, checked the settings, problem persists, went to aokp rc1 did a full wipe, dalvik, cache partiton, formatted system, and problem is ongoing.... beginning to wonder if its a network problem?

Same here, but for some reason I've been very happy with the latest stock build.
I've noticed that some units are fine with the "Noise reduction" setting checking in and some don't regarding the echo problem.
It wouldn't hurt to try to replace your SIM card. Head out to a T-Mobile store to get a free replacement (If your current line is under your name in the account) SIM cards do go bad...
Does this happen everytime, on every call?
The echo you mentioned, do you mean to the other person you sound echo-y like in a cave or tin can, or is it that the other person hears what they are saying with a half second or so delay, where it makes it hard to talk because they are trying to talk over themselves?
If its the hollow cave/can sound it may well be your phone, if it happens every time. If its the other issue its probably a bad connection. Every time its happened to me, if I hang up and call again it would work normally again.

Odd. I've never seen that happen on every call! Is it hat way for everyone you call?
Try flashing through the radios again testing each one.
I've seen where some were having probs or just no improvement with a new radio but reflashing it solved everything.

did a full wipe again, went back to stock, and now the issue seems to be corrected. :good:
So I went back to stock using Odin, that took care of the problem for me, then I went back to aokp last night, my gf called me and said the echo was back... I hung up on her, restored my new stock backup, called her back, and no echo... I'm not saying it's the Rom or anything but that's what had happened.

Walters? Did you read the thread of AOKP or any of the cm10 variants. Cause half the reports of the last 10 pages include talk about the echo. Just a heads up. It is a cm10 issue, and known. And seems to be being worked out.

No I haven't, i was going on Twitter and goo.im taking whitehawx latest builds, for a while their wasn't a active aokp thread, so I all but gave up on xda and was getting it from alternative sources. But it's good to know it's just a bug and not something that was an anomaly with just my phone lol.

Jb video calling?

I was using liquidsmooth and qik doesn't show at all or work from Google play... tango and Skype both work but the other party only hears feedback from my end... is there any fix for this or is it just something wrong on my end?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I've been having similar issues with different apps. For example, Electronic Arts' Monopoly is no where to be found in the PlayStore. When I try to install from the backup I made with ROM ToolBox, I get an application incompatibility message. It only happens to me on JB ROMS. I wonder if it is an issue with the JB base roms or if it is that these apps have not being updated to work on JB; thus the incompatibility message.
I also tried searching for QIK and couldn't find it.
I guess people don't video call here.. I'm surprised that no comments either working or not are posted yet....

Harder to swipe windows in Jelly Bean?

I tried searching for others with the same problem but couldn't find anything. Does anyone else seem to find that you have to swipe farther along the screen to get to the next screen? for example I need to swipe about 1/2 the screen length to get to the next page, where before I could just do a quick flick to go to the next page. I don't know if I'm missing a setting or something, but it's kind of annoying.
I think you can just change your sensitivity on your screen, btw what ROM and what version of it are you running?

Thats why drunk asked "what ROM and what version of it are you running?". You wouldn't call Auto Zone and ask how to change a fuse without telling them what kind of car you were driving would you? The more info someone gives, the easier it is to help with the issue at hand.

Oh so sorry about that. I was looking at the browser in my phone and must have missed his post completely. I'm using
[ROM] [Team ScarLick] [Deodexed] [GB27 TW] Touched By SGSIV V 1.2 updated 4/4
I never noticed the problem in gingerbread. I haven't tried any other JB roms. This is my first.
I just came from that rom to jellyverse so I know the layout of the rom and I don't believe there is an option to adjust touch sensitivity. If I'm wrong someone correct me but I don't think that rom has the option to do so. You just gotta get used to it, it's not that big of an issue that the rom is unbearable (at least it wasn't for me). There have been issues in other rooms where I simply couldn't stand the rom because of a single issue but that wasn't a huge issue for me...like I said just gotta get used to it

Yeah, that's what I've had to do. I know that most of the AOSP roms (cyanogenmod etc) have touch sensitivity adjustment but nothing touchwiz based on 4.1.2 have I seen with that option
