Galaxy Nexus 2 or SGS 3 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi Everyone!
Currently, I have an iPhone 4S with Telus (in Canada) and I am looking to switch to an Android phone. Now if I were to switch now, I would get the SGS3, but I am curious about the Nexus 2 (or whatever google will call it). What Pros/Cons can you guys think of to get the SGS3 over the Nexus phone line by google, and vice versa?
Thanks so much!
Michael

I believe past Galaxy Nexus release timelines point to a possible upgrade of the Galaxy Nexus launching around Q4 of this year. I have read that Samsung has already been selected as the manufacturer and the speculation is that it will probably be a variant of the GS3. I bough my AT&T GS3 in early July when it was officially launched (upgrading from an iPhone 4). I thought about waiting until Q4 to see what comes out for the new Galaxy Nexus but I really wanted to upgrade sooner rather then later.
The advantage to waiting for the next Galaxy Nexus is that updates come straight from Google and it will have the best developer support. However, I have no regrets purchasing the GS III when I did. I'm not happy about having to wait for both Samsung AND AT&T to get software updates but the dev community seems to be flocking to the GS3 like crazy. Almost instantly there were very stable CM9 (ICS) nighties and right behind that were CM10 (JB) preview builds (posted by Cyanogen himself) as well as AOKP (JB) builds.
If you prefer to keep the enhancement's that Samsung has added like the excellent camera app, SVoice (while not as good as siri, it does the job), enhanced voice commands like being able to snap a picture by saying "cheese", and smart stay (keeps the screen on for as long as it detects your looking at it) there are some really excellent stock based roms as well.
Really it comes down to how long your willing to wait to upgrade. There is always something newer coming out in 6 months so you'll only ever have the latest greatest for a few months at best. I'm kinda bummed that I won't be able to get vanilla android updates as soon as Google releases them but the upside is that with a little patience I'll have the choice of enjoying Samsung's extra features or rolling pure android via CM or AOKP.
PS: Being a long time iPhone user coming to Android for the first time I was very intimated by all the flashing recovery, custom rom, kernels, etc. but as long as you read the OP carefully and follow it's instructions, as well as search the threads if you do have issues, you'll be comfortable with it in no time.

How do you feel about hardware buttons? The S3 has 2 soft-keys and a hard home button. The Nexus will undoubtedly have an on-screen navigation bar instead.
I like the idea of the navigation bar, but the it ultimately eats up some screen real estate.

I hate on screen buttons. Like u said, they eat up the precious screen real estate. Moreover, having virtual control button is not as useful as physical cintrol button. How can we activate Svoice without unlock the screen if we dont have dedicated buttons?

Wow thanks! That was quite the reply! I already have the Nexus 7 so I'm kinda used to the ROMs and flashing etc... So are you saying that if for example, JB comes out for SGS3, it has to go through samsung first, then the carrier? What if I got the Nexus 2 would it have to go through carrier?
I might wait for the Galaxy 2/next Google phone but if I really get antsy I think I will upgrade to the SGS3 since it does have some really cool and unique features.
Thanks again!

As I said in my previous reply, I already have a N7 so I am used to the nav bar. But I really dislike it since I can't know the device's orientation in the dark that easily, and because of less screen real-estate.

Personally, I was using Galaxy Nexus, and was waiting for Nexus 2 before upgrading. My gf then decided to give her S2 away, so I had to give her my Nexus, got SGS3 myself.
So far, I'm liking the phone, as the screen color and brightness is much better than on Nexus. The phone is quick too, even on 4.0.4 compare to 4.1.1 on GN, which also flies.
The only complaint with non Nexus phones are, updates are always slow.

No offense here, but what's the point of having on screen buttons on a phone that has hardware buttons? This is one of the main things I loved about my old Galaxy Nexus (and the minimalistic led indicator at the button was sexy too).

Yeah, you definitely can have on-screen buttons on the S3 with a custom ROM. My point was you definitely can't have hardware buttons on phone that doesn't come with them.

Correct. Unless you buy the international version of GS3 (i9300) in which case the update only has to go through Samsung. Even with the Galaxy Nexus phones, unless they are purchased carrier unlocked from Google, you still have to wait for the carrier to release updates. Jellybean was released weeks ago for Google's Galaxy Nexus but the Verizon variant hasn't come yet according to this article http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/08/16/verizon-galaxy-nexus-jelly-bean-update-hopefully-coming-this-month/. It even notes the international version of the GS3 may even get Jelly Bean at the same time or before the Verison Galaxy Nexus variant.
So the OS upgrade timeline seems to be: Google Variant > International (Unlocked) Version, carrier version. I debated buying the i9300 version of the GS3 but the extra memory (2GB vs 1GB) in the carrier variants plus the 2 year commitment discount swayed me.
Hope this helps

Hi!
Yes this really did help! So pretty much no difference in getting carrier version of SGS3 or Nexus (1/2). In that case I guess I will go with the SGS3 even though the new Nexus will probably be much more updated (spec. wise). It is really just timing at this point.
Thanks again!

I don't know about this part, traditionally when Nexus phones come out they have usually been on par with the other leading phones hardware wise. If memory serves, they've never really been about being the bleeding edge for hardware but more the "Google" experience and about getting the updates first.
Odds are the new Nexus phone won't be a lot faster than the current SGS3 if the trend continues.

both great phones

ill make a pros and cons list.. i went with a Galaxy S3
Nexus pros:
-faster OS updates
-on screen buttons
-it will probably be cheaper
-Stock android (if u like stock)
-something new we may not know about
GS3 pros:
-MicroSD card Slot (the nexus prob wont have an SD card knowing google)
-its already out, u dont have to wait
- Touchwiz (if u like it with all of its features)
- prob better camera (nexus devices havent gotten good cameras in the past)
-better speakers, nexus 7 and galaxy nexus speakers suck
things to note:
- Its hard to tell which will have a faster processor, cause the next Nexus might have Tegra 3 or 4 or snapdragon s4 or S4 pro
- the next nexus might have something new which will surprise us
- it may not even come out till Q1 or Q2 of 2013 since it might wait for the next version of android
hopefully that answered ur Question... i mainly got the GS3 cause 1. it has a micro SD card slot and 2. i didnt want to wait

Hi there!
Thanks very much for this complete list! It is exactly what I was looking for. I think I will go with the SGS 3 because mainly of waiting times for the possible Nexus 2. The processor of the the SGS3 is also a lot faster than the current Nexus, and WAY faster than any iPhone out there today.
Thanks again!

I personally do not like the home button especially after coming from the Samsung galaxy S1 and 2.
Also with my line of work I have a feeling that dust and dirt and debris are going to get in there and eventually wear out the button way too fast

[Q] Just about to buy GNexus or should I go for the HTC One X?

Hello All,
First of all allow me to apologise if this is in the incorrect thread, or has been asked before, however this question is time and date relevant.
My contract is up tomorrow (20/06/2012), and i have wanted the Galaxy nexus since it was released. However I am just looking around at phones in the UK, and am torn between the HTC One X and the GNexus.
What are peoples thoughts about the GNexus so far?
Is it still worth taking out a contract on it? (18 months).
I am not super bothered about the quad core, but I need the phone to last, my currect phone (X10 Mini Pro) lasted about 6 Months of the 24 before it became nearly unusable, and I couldn't afford to buy a new one, until now.
Thank you all in advanced,
Technicalevolution.
The Gnex will last you 18 months no problem, and it will have far superior dev support. I had the One X and it is a great phone, but it takes a lot to get it working the way i like. To get AOSP you still have to sacrifice some functionality and stability. The GNex will be first to updates, and more stable running modified firmware. The display is better on the One X, as is all the hardware really. That said, i still prefer the Nexus. I probably won't buy another non-nexus device.

This quote above is exactly what I think also after having the htc evo lte for a week.
If you like no bloatware (ie: sense) Go with galaxy nexus, you will always have the latest android version and customization is a dream. And it is plenty fast, if you need something faster then a galaxy nexus then your crazy.
PURE GOOGLE FTW!!!
Some time ago I made the decision to buy only Nexus phones and I dont regret it, they are awesome.
Pros of the GNex:
-Better software
-Updates assured for the next Android versions
-Multitasking work much better than the One X
-Removable battery
Cons:
-Bad camera
-Older hardware (but I dont think it matters that much, since it can easily run everything you can find on Android Market)
If you know are posting on xda then you probably like messing with your phones. So that leaves you with two options. Get the gnex in black or get the gnex in white.

Don't care about hardware. The nexus hardware is obviously good enough to have ics running extremely smooth. What you should take into consideration.
- Camera.
- Whether or not you want sense
- Do you hate having outdated software?
- Build quality
- which device looks better to you ( You don't want to pull out your phone and see something that you think is ugly every time.)
Those questions should give you a better answer on which you should get

I've had my Nexus for the last 6 mo's and probably will have it for the next 18 months! I cant imagine going back to some UI and carrier bloat. Dooo iiiit!
I just love the simplistic look on the Nexus when I hide the status and nav bar. The screen just blends in with the bezel so well when using a black theme and wallpaper. The only thing I dislike about the phone is the camera, but it's good enough to satisfy most people.
Why not just play with both at a store? Get a feel for them.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I did try to have a play on both, but for the amount of phone stores near me, none of them have a galaxy nexus on display, shambles if you ask me.
Thanks

Had the same dilemma, stock ics > sense 4 to me, and nexus runs ics so well! Also, I really don't want to wait for key lime pie to come out before I get jellybean, you know? Go with the nexus, it's fantastic!
Since this is a very common question there is a sticky dedicated to it. Please continue the conversation in there.

Pass or Buy Galaxy Nexus

Hey people, I am currently an iPhone user and what I do on it is download themes, tweaks, apps. I got tired of using an iPhone and I thought that whatever I do on an iPhone, I can do it a lot better on an android. I was currently looking at other android phones but since there isn't one specific android phone like iPhone, I don't know which one will suit me. My eyes were on the Galaxy Nexus for a while and I have done research on it like reviews and how customization works. I know the Galaxy Nexus came out a year ago and by now new phones came out may have more improved features than the Galaxy Nexus, like the One S or GSIII or the One X. I don't know how custom roms work or kernels and what do they do so if you can explain about it that would be helpful. The sad thing about the Galaxy Nexus is that it only comes with a 16GB model, and I'm not sure if its going to be enough or not.
So my question is that at this time is it worth to get the Galaxy Nexus?
Yes. Unless you want an HTC One X or Samsung Galaxy S3, which are a lot more money.

16gb shouldn't be an issue, lots of cloud services (Google Play Music, Dropbox and Picasa) to take care of that. All are good devices, Galaxy Nexus is the best if you want the quickest updates to ROMs, but generally the wait for Galaxy S3 is only a month more, so compare the hardware, and buy the one that suits you most, since both these devices have lots of developers working on them
Awesome phone, just switched from S2 and its much better. Maybe because its a Google phone so the hardware and software compliment each other. Also the fact that it will get continued software support from Google makes it a smarter buy over many other phone.(Took forever for ICS to land on S2). And not to mention the subsidized price( 350$ now!google promoting android phones). You def wont regret it.
Thanks for your replies, this question also came into mind. Do you guys think I should wait because maybe Google is going to introduce another Nexus device sometime this Fall, probably the new device may be better than the Galaxy Nexus.

Yes I would wait. The fact that in about 5 - 6 months you will have the new Nexus lines out, I would wait. The Galaxy SIII is a sexy phone and based on rumors it will be getting Jellybean soon, but I prefer pure Google.
If you our desperate, get a Nexus S for cheap on ebay that you can use as a throwaway, backup, etc.. type phone but with all goodies of Jellybean.
Thanks for your reply, but when the new Nexus comes out, will the Galaxy Nexus still get the fast android updates like any other Google phone does and will the Galaxy Nexus go up to Android 5.0?

i think its totally worth it, only today i moved from iphone 4s to white galaxy nexus, i was totally impressed with jelly bean 4.1.1 , and i would strongly recommend to consider nexus as primary choice
So I was an iphone user myself until recently, I got an HTC One X and it is an amazing phone, the screen and speed are great, made me love android... however I found the battery life to be awful. When Jellybean came out I found myself wanting to try it and so replaced my One X with a Galaxy Nexus, and I think it has much more advantages. Firstly the battery seems to last longer, and you can buy a replacement spare. The Jelly Bean OS is perfect and all other features match the One X. The only thing that doesnt is the camera in true specs but I find its hard to discern any difference for day to day snaps.

Dont get it. A mate has it and is selling suffers from yellow splotches on the screen and a locked bootloader
Can anyone tell me how custom roms and kernels work and what not to do to mess up the phone. Also is there a way to restore a galaxy nexus back to factory state, as if you got the phone brand new.
You want to know how custom roms work together or you just want to know how they improve the experience?
To answer your second question, yes you can put it back to factory settings.

I've come to think that 16gb may not be enough for me, I had an iPhone 4 16gb and got so many games, movies, music, etc. that I was left with 4gb and my phone became slow. I don't have a data plan so I can listen to music on Google Play while im out. I was wondering if the GSM Galaxy Nexus makes a difference between the CDMA Galaxy Nexus. If it doesn't make a difference with hardware because I saw many people on different forums that have problems with CDMA Galaxy Nexus and I want to get it because it is available in a 32gb model and they are world phones so it has a sim card slot but I'm not sure if it would work with T-Mobile.
CDMA galaxy nexus will not work on T-Mobile. Also there isn't a difference in hard wise between CDMA and GSM but CDMA takes much longer to get updates while GSM is almost instantly.

Is it smart to buy the galaxy nexus now?

I've been wanting the nexus for a long time now and am able to buy it. But i'm in doubt to buy it because the next in the nexus series is coming around soon (I think?)
I live in Belgium and it takes a while before the nexus is available here and the thing is I'm quite unhappy with the Phone I'm using right now. It's slow and buggy and I want jelly bean.
In oktober the nexus 7 Will finally launch here and I'm planning on buying it as my first tablet. This might temper my wanting the nexus Phone But do you People think it Will be long before it's announced?

SD cards, even the highest performing ones, will never perform as fast or as stable as internal storage. That's the reason Nexus devices don't include one. Whether you think it should have one or not, Google does know what they are doing. I've never experienced any lag, either. I run stock 4.1.1 build JRO03U. Sprint variant. My battery life is also phenomenal.

Nah i tested from AOKP, to AOSP to CM10 to stock. Tested with Apex, Nova, Stock Launcher, Go Launcher EX any goddamn launcher available. From ICS all the way to jellybean. Didn't beat S3 in many ways. My old S2 works better than this thing im currently holding. Didn't want to hurt your feelings but this piece of device does lags even with stock kernel. Don't mention franco, faux, lean, fugumod, i tried it all. Am i doing it wrong? S3 is on my right hand S2 is on my table and Samsung Galaxy Nexus is on my left hand. I tested this device for two weeks already. Maybe im doing it wrong? On the other hand Samsung other devices running on JellyBean too especially S3 with microsd slot for my own mp3 collections. Didn't lag and response fast without the need of custom kernels. Tested 1 to 1 with Samsung S3 stock Jellybean with stock kernel... better wayyyyy better in battery life than this piece of crap im holding. Run any benchmark tools in the market you will see it yourself Samsung Galaxy Nexus is nowhere. Go to Google Play download an app, minimize, open up another app. It lags like hell when Google Play is installing the app. Many more i couldn't be bothered to say. Don't waste money on this device.

Whatever you say. I'm sure your one personal bad experience with the Gnex must be truth, all the peoples that are happy with the Gnex, including ones that have tried both s2 and s3, must be complete morons. Because of course what you believe is always cold hard fact.

Its the hunter, not the gun.
You ARE doing something wrong if you think this phone is "a piece of crap". Of course, its all relative. I'm holding my gnex in my right hand and my friends s3 in my left hand. Home screen scrolling was more laggy on the s3, apps opened exactly the same on both devices. Tested s3 1 to 1 with gnex jellybean...wayyy better then this piece of crap I'm holding in my left hand.

I didn't say they are complete morons like you do to backup your claim. It's really up to individual to write about the device they bought and tried and what they feel. Im sharing my part of story. Woudn't recommend anyone to buy Gnex and waste their money like i do. Im sorry if you feel offended. Besides, if this phone doesn't lag someone wouldn't make LAGFIX for this phone in the Galaxy Nexus Android Development.

The point he's making is that your experience is not the same as the mass majority. Most love their Galaxy Nexus. I've personally seen A LOT of people announce on this forum that they returned their S3 and came back to the Galaxy Nexus because it actually outperformed it greatly in their opinions. Many, many people. You came in and announced based on your experience alone that it is a crappy device and the OP should not get one. Your experience is uncommon and shouldn't be the basis for his decision.
I am sorry you've had such a bad experience. I have personally pit my Galaxy Nexus against the S3, both on stock, and have first hand seen my device run circles around it. The only thing I see as a plus with the S3 are a few extra, albeit very nice features, but ones I do not see as enough to spend so much more for it than I did for my Galaxy Nexus.
My experience has been nothing but absolutely amazing. No fanboy, I promise. Complete honesty.

Well im a no fanboy of Samsung S2 or S3 too. As far as ROMS development of Galaxy Nexus i am very happy but my experience with it is really disappointing. Yes he shouldn't make his decision due to my experience alone. Im not forcing him either. Maybe i started off a little too harsh. I'm deeply sorry if i hurt anyone because of my frustration and anger with this device. Peace
Safe option
Better wait a little while longer as rumors of a new Galaxy nexus in the works from Google, maybe a refresh who knows theres nothing solid as far as the details of the new phone are concerned. If your looking for a solid phone thats fast on Jellybean but dont require a good camera then go for it.
The camera isn't "the best" but I wouldn't say it isn't "good". I think the camera is quite nice.

Well I wasn't asking if it's smart to buy a nexus becaus, s3 outperforms it. Gnex will always be better than any other Samsung device for me cause of crappy touchwiz. Even when u root ur bothered with it.
I'm a Google fanboy and my question is if it's smart to buy a Gnex close to a possible release of a Gnex 2. I don't want no ugly s3 with the stupid stupid home button and 2 ugly touch thingies. I want the Gnex and raw android.
Go back to the s3 forum please. If I'd buy an other Samsung I'd buy the note 2 cause that's a decent phone.
So I see people here telling me to wait for a release and other say just go for it.
I love the phone and its only 400 euros. (s3 600+, note 2 700+) might just buy it I tink. Uless someone here can tell me not to because.. (only reason I accept is for a new nexus or other. Can't break down the nexus for me)

I've been using The Gnex for a few months now, the only reason i bought it is because of the developer support and the sexy design (without the home buttons). Even if i knew the Gnex 2 would be out in the near future, it doesnt bother me as its still a great handset to buy at the current price. If battery is an issue there is a 2000Mah OEM battery from Samsung with back case that should do the trick.
All in all your not losing out even if you buy now as the Gnex 2 is only a rumor and nothing solid has been mentioned from Google or Samsung.
I will also buy it soon. I think that even if the new galaxy nexus comes out it will be more expensive than 350$. so, even if you wait, you will pay more money.
So in my opinion, if money isn't a problem for you, wait for the new nexus, but if it is, buy this one because this is a great phone for this price.

Lag..? What lag..? There is no lag. Never heard them, never see them. Plus, i have 2 friends, each having one x and s3, and still this baby is the smoothest among em. Of course hardware wise, i lose big time, but for the liquidity, u can always count on this.
Plus the lagfix is really kind of a 50/50 working. And its mostly for cm10 based rom, which i dont find any lag at all(my opinion). If u got the S3, they still use cm10 based rom mostly,so,still need the lagfix one way or another, but with the gnex, there is pure aosp if u dont really like cm10.

[Question] Change phone?

hi i got a nexus like 2 weeks ago and is it worth exchanging it to a note or s3? im a bit confused is nexus like out of the league compared to note and s3? pls help me decide
im currently running paranoid android 2.16 and having fun with it but in my case i want the best phone there is on the galaxy side
If you want to be "up to date", get the s3. The GN has been out for almost a year so I understand your confusion.
If you want the best Android experience with tons of exclusive features, stay with the GN.. It's like the ultimate Android device.
I used to be under the impression that our phone was outdated and I looked to upgrade but nothing feels better than someone walking up to me saying, "wow, what phone is that?"
Honestly, if you already have the GN, stick with it. No need to upgrade an already awesome device.
Thank you for helping me figure out which is the best phone i think ill stick with the Gnex since your right about people asking what phone are we using and i did a little research on you comment " It's like the ultimate Android device." i just found out that Gnex is the only device that is using the original jellybean really thank you for clearing up my mind

I recently got a Gnex as well. I didn't own an S3, but have played with a couple for extended periods. I didn't have the GNex at the time, but now that I got it, I think the vanilla android is amazing, and I wouldn't change for anything atm.
stay where you are. Ive had the s3 & ditched it for the nexus. next time to change is when the new gnex is announced.
trust me
If you get a S3 just because it is the latest thing then it won't be the latest for long - the S4 will be out early next year. Actually the "latest thing" is actually the Note 2. I passed on my awesome Note to my with 5 weeks ago to get the even more awsomener GNex. The thing about a Nexus is it can be a long term commitment as it will receive speedy updates and wont be forgotten whilst the hardware is still capable – look at the Nexus S getting JB. I don’t think I will bother with a new Android phone until the 2013 Nexus although I do fancy picking up a cheap WP8 device in spring when they slash the prices of all the unsold stock. For me to keep the same phone for more than 3-4 months is unheard of, I have had 9 in 24 months, so I must really love the Gnex!
actually this answers a lot the main reason i want a latest phone cause of support, the last android i got was the moto cliq and after 4 months support for it went no where so i was kinda disappointed and moved to the iphone and now i got the Gnex well im gonna stick with Gnex reading a good feed back from you guys :victory:

I'd stay with the GNex too, if you are interested in custom ROMs then the S3 wouldn't be good for you because of bad support from Samsung for their Exynos chipset. Some CyanogenMod developers have already ditched devices with Exynos due to the reason I wrote.

im really impressed i compared the Gnex against s3 and note the Gnex runs smoother it could be cause of the project butter but wow it beats the quadcore of s3 to dust :highfive:

[Canada - ROGERS] Hardware Upgrade Time.

I just got my phone hardware fully paid a few months ago in preparation for the new line of this years phones.
Now, I have a hardware upgrade (or two) I can use in the next few months, but I would like some input from my fellow canucks on the matter.
As of currently two phones are on the roster, and available right now:
• Samsung Galaxy note 3 (32gb+sdcard) [DEV]
• LG G-Flex (32gb) [NO-DEV]
I bring this up for a couple reasons.
Firstly, I'm having a really hard time deciding between waiting or getting one of the two above immediately.
Second, I just can't seem to think I could go down in screen size, having really fallen in love with the size of my note 2.
We've all heard the rumors of the new G3 being somewhere between 5.5" and 5.7" and the supposed "new nexus" as well as the eventual Note 4 being a "new form factor" from various leaks, teasers and info from a Samsung design member.
And being in Canada usually means at least 2 or more months wait after the US gets the same device first. As is the case with the G-Flex.
What are my fellow Canadians on ROGERS doing, now that we've got our 2012 devices paid (or close to paid) off?
Signed: a happy flasher and XDA denizen.

Delema Delema-lol. It sucks that us Canadians have to wait for devices. Here's a cool comparison of the two.

I'd go for the note 3 but I'd love to get my hands on the One plus one phone.
Well. I found myself in a Rogers shop today and picked up the flex. I do have to say it feels really good in-hand. Don't think I'll be regretting this at all.

It really just always boils down to the kind of person you are, what your into hobby wise and other such things etc. and just over all what you want to do with/expect the phone to do.
Glad to hear you made a choice and are happy with it. :victory:
Been having a lot of people ask me lately what phone they should get and I in turn ask them what do they enjoy and want to be able to do with your smartphone?
Were getting a lot of great options from different manufactures and their spins on smartphones, its wonderful to see all the options available to us.
Personally for me I am waiting for the Note 4, I am a person who enjoys taking good high quality pictures at max settings and want a phone with great camera capabilities with features that support it.
The S pen is great and I like having a stylus, like using a stylus on a Wacom graphing tablet ^_^.
Also a bit of a PC hardware geek and I like seeing the newest and high-end, so I'm excited for QHD 2.5K display (even if its not necessary lol) and hopefully one of the new 64bit Exynos chip with the new Intel LTE modem! & 4GB of RAM rather then just the usually "South Korea: Oh.. hey North America..Ummmm yeah... you can have snapdragons its lazy mode time for us /sipsdrink "
When the Note 4 comes out and I play with a test model if I feel like its no good then I will look at all the other options
That's kinda my situation. I like my note 2 well enough. But i wanted a change from Samsung, being that the N2 is my 3rd Samsung in a row. I just like what LG did with the flex, though the DPI should have been set around 240.

Yeah totally, something new is nice and a good refresh at times can go a long way. I started eyeing Sony's newest phone Xperia Z2 because of its 20MP camera and that they finally got the screen right and looking great.
Just waiting to see the Note 4 before I upgrade now lol.
I'm not in a hurry for the upgrade either because (should be this month) we will see the KitKat update for our Note 2's and that will keep them purring along just fine for now ^_^
The only thing I want from Samsung is the 4.4 source, so the devs can make better kernels for us custom guys.
