For anyone that has a car stereo with a usb and auxillary plug I got this one and it works perfect i leave it plugged in (Power to stereo all the time from fuse box) it connects to my plantronics voyager pro hd (headset) and my bluetooth dongle connected to my kenwood stereo with usb (for power) and plugged into 3.5 aux jack (the cord that comes with it is only maybe 4 inches so this is great you don't have that long annoying cord). As soon as i turn bluetooth on in the phone while i am in the kenworth it auto connects to both.
i have profile for voyager pro set to audio only and have the dongle set to media only. music plays nice and clear then when call comes in stereo mutes and call is routed to headset (no echoes and clear) when disconnected from call music starts again.
Been reading about this and have seen people returning their phones because of this so hope it helps anyone.

Hi all,
Have any of the Hermes Guru's out there worked out if Bluetooth and USB headsets can be used at the same time.
What I am trying to achieve is for the phone sound - ie incomming calls etc to be routed to the bluetooth pairing and for the other sounds, such as my gps, music and other sounds to continue to be routed via the mini USB port, either for headphones or lineout.
Is this possible? Would this be a registry setting? Is all sound handled in the same way, or is it possible to determine the phone sounds against all others.

When in my car, I have the usb port plugged in to a 3.5 adapter and into my car stereo. I also have a BT headset turned on and on my ear. While listening to MP3s, if the phone rings, the mp3 player on the phone stops playing and it displayes the caller ID. If I push the button on the headset, I get the phone call on the BT. When I am done, the mp3 starts again through the usb.

Awesome yatrg, that was exactly what im trying to do. I can buy an aux input for my car and run it off the mini-usb to 3.5mm adaptor and can also get a parrot bluetooth to handle the phone call.

Hi everyone,
Is there anyway you can force the headphone profile when plugging in something into the 3.5mm socket?
When listening to music on my standard headphones, all is well but when I plug the Desire into my car radio's aux in, the phone initially goes into headphone only mode but then decides to switch to headset.
When it switches to headset, it randomly calls, skips music and stops the music. Rather annoying when your driving.
Any idea's?

3,5 mm stereo (TRS) type jacks do cause issues
Hi, I had exactly the same problem (see other post on this forum: 6269599 and 667240)
I guess you'll need a TRS (car stereo 3,5mm 3 contacts) to TRRS (HTC, 3,5 mm 4 contacts) adapter.
There's no issue with the standard headset delivered with the Desire
Is there any sort of app that can redirect phone calls through a2dp. I can get a gadget that will allow me to contorol my media player and stream music over bt to an iphone dock but I also need to calls to come throuhg those speaker. A microphone isnt a problem as the phone has one that will work fine. What I need to do is have phone calls,if an a2dp device is present and connected use that instead of the phones speaker. Otherwise I have to go buy a BT radio for my car. (which comes with an ipod dock but no bt)
you might could just use an auxiliary input to get just the audio out. Pretty sure you can't use a2dp for phone calls.

If the BT device has the headset profile you should be able to receive calls on it, many BT enabled car stereos and BT headphones are able to carry A2DP, AVCR and the headset profile.
I want the same for my Blackberry A2DP gateway in car
I have a blacberry A2DP gateway in my car that connects ipads, htc phone and iphone to the stereo input of my car sound system. The sound quality is excellent for all uses but the incoming phone calls are routed via the phone internal speaker unless I plug a second stereo cable into the car input jack.
Can I get htc hd2 windows mobile 6.5 phone mono into this gateway device to avoid having to connect a stereo cable to my phone output? It connects to the HTC as stereo audio only.

So in other words,the answer is no,there IS no such app. As I said,I can buy a gadget that will connect A2DP to a I-Pod interface. It does NOT have headset profile.
Is there a such a thing as a car bluetooth mic to enhance voice input to GS3?
Basically, I have an active car cradle which uses the usb to charge the phone, I then connect an aux cable from the phone to my car stereo, this allows me to play music through my car speakers and hear any voice calls through my car speakers. This works fine apart from the GS3 mic not being loud enough for people to hear me very well, so I need some kind of enhanced mic that connects to the phone. Any ideas?
Not sure if this has been covered or not, but I recently found that a cheap AUX cable plugged into my headphone jack and into my car AUX jack didn't produce any music through my car speakers
The car "recognized" the phone and went into AUX mode, but the phone didn't recognize the car and produced sound from the phne external speaker.
I found some threads somewhere that talked about cables and impedance, but I found an easy fix: Force headset mode.
There seem to be lots of apps that will toggle your phone to force it in and out of headset mode. I picked one at random from the googleplay store which allowed me to create a widget that toggles forced headset on and off (toggleheadset2 by ddubtech.com).
I also use a Garmin Nuvi 660 as a bluetooth speaker.
When my phone is connected to the Nuvi via bluetooth I can make and receive calls through the Nuvi. When I toggle the forced headset mode on and plug into the car AUX port, I can listen to music using the car audio.
I wasn't sure what would happen if you had somthing plugged into the headset jack of the phone, but also had a bluetooth connection to a mic and speakers (the Nuvi). Turns out they work together smoothly; music through AUX pauses when an incomming call starts, then switches automatically to the Nuvi mic and speakers for the duration of the call, then automatically switches back to playing music through the car AUX audio.
