Hi bob, I would recommend a quick search. The short answer is there is no app that can do it at this time, and I would recommend trying your luck on ebay.

All i did was chat with Tmobile support and i told them i was going to Europe for a while so I would need to get my Galaxy S3 sim unlocked. As long as your account is in good standing and have never had a late payment, they'll grant you your wish. It took less than 24hrs also to get my code.
Try it, you'll never what'll happen.

theres a couple options
1. Contact Tmobile, if you dont wanna call them heres the link http://support.t-mobile.com/community/chat Just tell them your gonna be leaving the country for a bit like the guy above me said
2. Buy a Unlock code on Ebay or another site (Yes they work)
3. try that app it has an option for GSIII however theres no garauntees

Right, you are allowed one code every 6 months. I always use the same line "I'll be in Italy this next week so I really need it soon, thanks".
Additionally SG3 guru AdamLange has made a tool that works as well. Try it and let us know bob !

You are actually allowed 1 code every 90 days, not 6 months.

It seems unlockclient.com has a software method. Any idea how it works?

Just call up T-Mobile and tell them you want a SIM unlock code. They'll ask for the IMEI number. I got my code within 24 hours of my request.

Once you have the code is there a way to unlock without another sim card?

And I can add from recent personal experience that you need to have been with Tmobile for 2 months before they will process your request. I had only been with them a month so I had cellunlocker.net provide me with an unlock code (I think for around 30$). I also used them to unlock my wides iphone (oh NO....I know...lol) so I actually trust them and recommend them now....

Just called tmobile and requested a sim unlock for me and my brother and the rep processed both phones so I don't have to wait 90 days for the other code, yay!

I believe if you paid full retail price for the phone through T-Mobile or an authorized agent you don't have to be.

When I called Tmobile in July to request help unlocking my phone I was told that I had to be an active customer for at least 2 months before they could process my request. I wasn't (and still am not) a regular Tmobile customer so I had cellunlocker.com do it. It cost around $30, and took only a couple of hours to get the code by email, and now its done.

I have done this with every phone I've had. Call Tmobile and tell them you're going to China next month and you need to unlock it. They will email you everything you need.

thanks guys. I ended up getting it unlocked from a dude that unlocks it via remote connection for 8 bucks on ebay. Better than 25-30 on cellunlocker.net

I payed him yesterday around 3pm. I got an email with the instructions around 11:00pm last night. What he basically asked to do was download USB redirector and teamviewer and do the following steps to the phone :
If you have i747 t999 please do next settings:
1.Go to Menu - Settings-> Development - switch USB debugging ON (When message is appear press "Yes".)
2.Go to dial window and type *#7284# then go to "Qualcomm USB Settings" and select "DM + Modem + ADB".
3.Switch off the phone and power on with unaccepted card. !
I was kinda of hesitant to let some random dude have remote access to my pc so i used an old netbook that had no personal files and set up teamviewer. He connected, open usb redirector and less than 2 minutes later he told me it was unlocked and all i had to do was reboot it and insert any sim. My now using my straighttalk att micro sim with the sg3

Thanks! I'm really curious how these guys are unlocking. So far I've seen two software methods: UnlockClient and this eBay guy. If we can figure out what they're doing we might be able to come up with a free unlock tool for North American GS3 owners.

Yes! Got it today to use with provider other than TMO but SIM is locked...Looking for unlocking solutions now!
darn it!
thanks for the confirmation.
any idea if the SIM unlock method for the SGS2 works on hercules too?
Try the SGS Unlock app from Market. Let us know if it unlocks.
Ya its a real bummer!
If your talking about the one on the market. I was considering that but it says needs (root) superuser???
I called Tmobile 4 times already. First they said they dont give the SIM unlock yet because of the 14 day return policy, so I would have to call back after then. Calls two and three was "you dont have an account with us? Oh sorry we cant give you the unlock code then... Final call our asked for supervisor and they transfer me to Tech. department. Tech guy was cool and gave me a number to fax my receipt showing I paid full retail for two phones plus some add'l info for them to be able to get back to me. He allow them 24-48 to get back to me!!! But it could take as long as 7-14 days. I'm sure each and everyone of them was looking at the SIM code unlock screen as we was talking. BOO TMO!!!
is tmobile really selling the phone for 529.99$?
i checked wirefly and letstalk, they charging like 600$ !

Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I can recall is..
You can only request 1 "sim-subsidy unlock" every 6 months. Your post paid account must be active for at least 30 days. Prepaid accounts must be active for 60 days with at least $10 balance in the account. If you purchased a phone at full price, you can fax in your proof of purchase to the "Blackberry & PDA support department" for a response within 24-72 hours.
I work for T-Mobile, I'll check the specifics the next time I'm at work.

Are they reliable to send if you did fax them receipt or do they still find a loop to say no?

Do any of you mind requesting the unlock code for my Hercules? I am not a T-mobile subscriber. My cousin tried to do it for me, but they wanted a copy of the sales receipt....I bought from a phone shop, not an authorized T-mobile store, so I don't think they will accept my receipt.

I tried to help out someone off of Craigslist before by doing this. You will have to allow someone you trust who is a T-Mobile customer to put their sim card in your phone for a couple of days for T-Mobile to pick up the phone. I tried getting the code by using the persons imei number and they accepted it and then sent me an email 24 hours later about my sim card not being in the phone.

I tried going through the beaurocracy (or however it spells) of T-Mobile to get an unlock code, but never got one for various reasons. You're better off at least trying.
If you don't get it, cellunlocker.net is not a scam. I ordered an unlock code from them for my T989 and got my code within the day. All is unlocked and fine.

Guide: How I unlocked my ATT S3

I read for about 2 hours on how to unlock this thing. Many said to call Att, some said to log in and live-chat, some say to use a 3rd party service. I called Att USA and got the run around 3 times. I don't have an ATT account so I couldnt log in....I tried the auto chat service and it gave me a number for ATT International. I called and within 60 seconds the gentleman gave me the code over the phone, no questions asked sans the IMEI code.
Here was the number I used......1-800-335-4685
I am not hard core developer, I am just a regular guy who reads before he asks. I hope this helps someone out.

your the man or woman that number rocks i had to go through two reps but i got my unlock code thanks for the info
not sure if you found this information or not, but for others wanting to know... only speak with the International Reps!!!
whether it be via phone or chat, this department is the only department that can give you the unlock code.
do not ask in-store about, do not call customer service. go straight to the source.
my story: after 14 days of being a brand new AT&T customer, i logged in and chatted with an International Rep, no questions asked about why i wanted an unlock, he just gave me the unlock code upon request. first try.
chat rep gave me mine within 4 minutes. said I had to put another sim into the slot and type in the unlock code.
Is there a way to do this without a different sim?
Wife and I are planning a trip to france and wanted to unlock to have phone service over there.
Looking for steps on how to do it without another similar as well. Also full steps, my rep was less than helpful in that department. I got the code, but other than that nothing else useful from them.

I was not able to find another way to do it. On the international version, one of the *# codes on the dialer works, but not on our's. However, I was able to unlock it by going to a T-Mobile store and asking them really nicely whether I could borrow one of their sims for two minutes so I could unlock my phone. They agreed with no issue, and my phone is now unlocked.
Just called and they told me they can only unlock phones that are from USA AT&T customers only.

Only the original carrier can unlock the phones.. it's the specific carrier that has the unlock code..
Try calling Rogers and telling them you're going to Europe.. I've got my unlock code for one of my old phones doing that
No, you can be rooted. You need a different carriers Sim and when you insert that and power on the phone it will ask you for the code. Input code, it will finish powering up and then give it a minute or two and Voila!

That's not entirely true. There are pay services such as cellunlocker.net that can unlock your phone in minutes. I just tried to unlock my old S2 through AT&T to get more selling it and the AT&T rep said my device wasn't "eligible" for an unlock code. Then, immediately went to cellunlocker and got an unlock code in about five minutes online and didn't have to deal with any idiot AT&T reps. Cost me $25 but it was worth it in that my phone sold in about 15 minutes and I didn't have time to deal with AT&T's bs.
Wish I knew about the number posted in the OP, I would've tried that and maybe saved some money.
Also got mine through chat no questions asked and noe she is unlocked. BOOM!

MetroPCS's policy is that you can unlock the phone after using it with MetroPCS for three months -- they'll actually do it for you.
However, you can unlock it before that if you find the correct instructions. And, yes, it will work with any GSM network.
My question is this: Are there any differences between the M919 and M919N that would prevent the procedure for unlocking a T-Mobile M919 from working with the M919N?

I have tried the procedures and get to persosha256 area of the debugging menu and it just brings me back to the main menu so that does not work. the weird thing is is that when I put a t-mobile sim in the phone, or any SIM for that matter, it does not read that there is a SIM card at all. I think metro programs the phone with the SIM number and service mode when they activate service. It's not that it is locked, but rather that it won't even register a SIM card other than metropcs.

Unbelievable!
I've been on the phone with MetroPCS ever since I read your response. So far, I'm getting two conflicting stories. Salespeople at stores are saying that you get an unlocking code after three months of owning the S4. The official customer service line rep has said that the issue of not being able to use the phones with other carriers is pissing off customers and the issue will be resolved very soon. I have yet to speak with a few other CS people onsite and possibly a supervisor to get a less sketchy response.
At this point, it sounds as though either salespeople are lying or official customer service doesn't know what it's talking about.
I've spoken to three salespeople at different locations -- two in different stores in NYC, one in White Plains -- and all repeat the same unlocking in three months speech that got me to buy the phone in the first place.
It sounds as though the issue will likely be resolved, but what I'd like to know is why this particular phone is posing problems in the first place when no other GSM carrier has had this issue.
Thanks for making me aware of this, sgtmedeiros.
MetroPCS seems profoundly disorganized. Half the people in customer service look at the wrong (non-GSM) map when you ask about S4 coverage and deny you can get reception in places where I've already gotten it.
---------- Post added at 04:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:30 PM ----------
Finally got through to a supervisor in corporate and she said your SIM should be recognized; that she has been getting reports the phone's tested and works with other GSM carriers. She wants me to call her back early next week and claims she'll have a definitive answer to my questions and a response to your situation.
However, you're the one who's having the issue. Have you tried contacting them as well?

I have talked to a couple of representatives here and the issue seems to be with imei pairing. when activated, the device is programmed to only pick up a certain sim card. If the sim card inserted into the device is not that card, then the phone will not even recognize that there is a sim card at all. ridiculous!

I read the listing of the "fastgsm" guy very carefully. He specifically says that he does not unlock the m919n for USA!.. Be careful.
...
I was able to buy a the unlock from eBay: search for "M919N Unlock"
Some really helpful guy send me 2 codes in the email - 12 hours after payment.
I initially got 2 codes from him:
1ST CODE: SERVICE PROVIDER unlock PIN: XXXXXXXX (8 numeric digits); and
2ND CODE: SIM network unlock PIN: XXXXXXXX (8 numeric digits).
He said that the phone will first prompt for the 1st code and then prompt for the 2nd code.
Here's what happened:
Inserted a non Metro PCS micro SIM.
I plugged in the 1st code... and the same screen came back. tried the 1st code again on the same screen... the same screen came back again... tried the 2nd code on the same input box ... phone read "Wrong Code Entered 3 times, you must reboot"
F***ED... I thought... The phone was still working on Metro PCS.
Wrote back to the guy and asked him what's up -- sent him my other phone number. Received a call back, almost instantly.
He said (Korean accent) that he did not realize that the phone needed 3 codes (WTF?). He gave me another code that I wrote down on a piece of paper. Asked him to hang with me while I do this....
Inserted non Metro PCS micro SIM again.. and booted.
Phone prompted for Service Provider PIN: <<entered the new 8 digit PIN>> <enter>
Phone prompted for SIM network unlock PIN: <<entered the 2nd CODE from email>>
clicked <enter>
Voila... Phone unlocked!
.. was kinda scared there for a moment! ... all good now!
if anyone wants to know ...
Ebay Item #121166155845
it was $44.95.. kinda pricey... but hey... if the phone's unlocked!

I was thinking...since the metropcs variant uses the tmobile network I wonder if an unlock code from an M919 will work to unlock it.
Has anyone tried this method. I have confirmed that the SIM card in the metropcs is infact a tmobile SIM.
I am just thinking out loud. I guess I could try it but I dont know of a reputable unlock site I could try it with who will refund me if it doesnt work.

Yes it works
Yes it works because my metro pcs s4 is unlocked n that's how i unlocked mine
My story is unique. For another reason I flashed my MetroPCS SGH-M919N with T-Mobile firmware as a result I got a SGH-M919 with UVUAMDL firmware, took a chance and went to fastgsm, paid unlock as T-Mobile SGH-M919, download app and unlocked my phone. A week later flash metro pcs firmware back to SGH-M919M UVUAMF2 and my phone still unlocked, I can put any SIM from anywhere on it working flawlessly

[Q] Unlocking a brand new phone never activated?

I just bought a brand new Galaxy Note 3 from a T-MOBILE store to use it with AT&T. The phone has never been activated before and I was wondering can I just insert my AT&T sim card and unlock it with the code that I have? or does the phone have to be activated first with a T-MOBILE sim card before I can unlock it to AT&T?
The region lock is kind of confusing me...

From what I heard it needs to be activated first. BUT, I think it needs to be activated if you plan on using it outside this region (country). I'd say give it a shot and see. If not... if it's not rooted, just take it back lol (j/k).
But I think the region lock stuff applies to international users, or those that want to use it internationally. Region lock I think is used to prevent people from selling these devices outside the country without it first being activated within the country... If I'm wrong, someone may clarify...

There is NO region lock if you purchased the phone
from a tmobile store, they region unlock all their
phones which need it before they sell you the phone.
Only the international NOTE 3 phone models have the
region lock intact and must be activated in the country
of origin with a valid sim card from that region or country.
If you purchased the phone at a Tmobile store then you have
nothing to be worried about, it's already activated and all it needs
is a valid active Tmobile sim card installed.
The Tmobile Note 3 does not come unlocked but Tmobile will
email you a unlock code with instructions if you request it. (free)
The Tmobile phone will not work with an AT&T sim card
unless you request an unlock code from Tmobile & unlock it.
(or using your valid unlock code if you have one)
The phone must have a valid tmobile sim card installed in order
to unlock it successfully.
After it's unlocked you can remove the tmobile sim card and
replace it with an AT&T or any other active sim card.
You must wait at least 14 days to request an unlock code
because that's how long you have to return the phone for
a full refund.
It's easy to unlock, takes less than 30 seconds.
Once unlocked it will work in any country or region.
Good luck!
So there's no region lock on 900T from t-mobile?
How did you buy a phone without an account??
Just bite the bullet and purchase a 3rd party unlock code...
Good Luck!

You need to insert a t-mobile sim to unlock the code with an unlock code? Really?
I never said you needed a T-Mobile sim.... (however it is possible)
I'm still interested in knowing how you purchased without account... Do you mind sharing?

Got it from ebay...could be a dud!
tmobile is not just handing out the unlock code even if u did purchase it at full price. i just called them today myself. you have to have an account that has had atleast $100 put through it. i told them i dont have an account i purchased out right and should be able to get the code. they said it was the only way otherwise i could pay samsung or a third party company. finally im like wait my girlfriend has had a prepay acount for like 6 months. thats way over the 100 that they want so they transfered me to the prepay department and i explained to them what was going on. i confirmed the account information with them gave them my imei and they said that i will have an email with in 24hrs with the code. so now im just waiting for the email.
Great! and good luck!
If that backfires you can go to 3rd party such as Fastgsm.com or many others just look at the reviews 1st..

If anyone else tries this...
The phone must be activated on the t-mobile network for 40 days ($100 minimum) and be paid in full in order to get the unlock code.
I can't remember where I read that, but I also confirmed with a rep because I am considering leaving to a pre-paid service.
If not, you would have to use one of the other ways of unlocking the phone.

So that still stands as correct then. As you just piggy backed on your girlfriends account that has been active for well over 40 days, thus approving your unlock code.
I am only speaking as if you do not have an account. If you buy the phone straight up, in order to give the unlock code they want an account (note I didn't say the device itself, which in my earlier post did say. Oops.) that had been active for 40 days and at least 1 month payment. Otherwise everyone would just buy their phones from them and they would make little profit.
There are always ways around getting a code. As some people mentioned you can always tell them you are going to be over seas and need a code. I have even found that being nice enough, and getting the right person, you sometimes get lucky.

[Q] LG G3 (T Mobile Unlock)

Will you be able to unlock the LG G3 in the near future?
Like through websites which gives you codes to unlock it for a fee?
My situation:
Currently in the USA but will go to Asia to continue studying. (Will get the LG G3 in less than a week from T-Mobile raffle)
how in the world would anyone be able to answer that question, since the phone hasn't even been released yet?????
I said in the near future.
I bet we have experienced unlockers here so I ask for their answers if it is possible or not.

Yes but how are they supposed to know....without the phone you are just asking someone to guess.... So here goes NO
Or maybe yes or who freaking knows
better hope they don't start locking them like sprint and Samsung did the note 3 .... No unlock but from sprint

unlock for free? i doubt it
paid for unlock, pretty sure you'll be to.
why not sell the phone and buy a phone in the asian country you'll be going to, you'll be able to get LTE there since you might not have the correct LTE bands for that country
If you snoop around the site, for info on bringing non-Tmobile phones in. It has rules for unlocking our phone. But they include "fully paid off phone" and minimum service and account time before they will let us.
If you talk to a customer service rep and explain your situation they might let you unlock sooner.

-Buy the phone outright you get the request put in at the store. (What I did)

Bought mine outright at the store tonight, when i asked about an unlock code, guy said I had to wait 45 days or some crap. So was he telling me BS? Guess I'll have to call customer service to do this.
I requested an unlock code and cellunlocker and its been more than 4 hours and they still havent sent me a code.

Working great! I cant believe how fast you were where the "other guys" are still sitting on processing for me. Im gonna see if i can cancel it. Thanks!!!
need help
I used the unlock code that i received from the link in your signature..
when I put in the code, it said network unlocked.. BUT somehow it didnt work. cant make calls or anything. As if it was still locked.
So i went back into the screen where you put the unlock code, and now there is NO prompt for it.. it simply says you cant personalize this phone.
I only attempted the code once..
any advice?

Although i am not from the USA, i would assume metroPCS dont use gsm sim card. And that ur phone probably doesnt have that frequency band that can work with metroPCS
