As title,
I'm having trouble with bricking my HTC ONE X, but I cannot recover my phone using the older version of RUU with Error 140, and I cannot find any RUU file for Asia_HK_1.28.708.15, does anyone have this version of RUU file?
Or anyway to S-Off my phone? As I know, I can flash older version of RUU if I S-off my phone.
Thank you very much.
Push, anyone help?
No S-Off and no 1.29.708.15 RUU (you got the version wrong, right?)

I can't find that version your looking for.
If your hboot etc updated, you can no longer use older RUU versions.
1.29.708.9 is the latest RUU I think that you can try.

He has 1.29.708.15, that RUU isn't available.
Best bet is to restore android backup and don't forget boot.img.

Sorry? Could you explain more? Thank you very much!
Can you confirm that you have 1.29.708.15 (not 1.28...)?
And secondly, since you can't install the RUU, as it doesn't exist, what problem are you trying to resolve?
You're unlocked, so you can restore a backup (which you should have taken immediately after installing clockworkmod) and its boot.img, or you can install another custom ROM.

First, thanks for your kindly help.
I just forgot to mention that I've relocked my phone before my first RUU
And I cannot get into Android OS ofcourse, as well as Recovery.
When I turn on my phone, it just automatically boot into bootloader.
I've tried to RUU again but unfortunately it didn't work out as I mentioned.
Just pretend your phone is fine and go through the whole process of unlocking and installing a custom ROM.
Oh, you might try
fastboot erase cache
To fix recovery.
I can't fathom why the RUU install would not work.
As long as your in fastboot USB, there isnt any reason why it wouldn't work.
There is a RUU for 1.29.708.9,
I'm guessing he's trying to use an older RUU with an older hboot.

He's needs to tell us his OS software then.
But if his hboot was updated, its his only option.
Unless he's not doing it correctly, I can't see why it wouldn't work.

As long as your adb is working, you shouldn't have any problems doing this.
Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

You don't need to find the specific version of an RUU, you only need to make sure the region of your RUU matches up with your phone's country code.
If you are sure you have an Asia_HK device, make sure you download the Asia_HK RUU, if it doesn't work, re-download fast boot, run the erase cache, relock your bootloader and install the RUU.

Downloaded ruu, relocked bootloader by fastboot OEM lock or whatever it is and installed ruu by opening executable ruu file on my pc. Maybe do I have to flash recovery with the stock recovery? At the moment it just resets factory settings if I try to go into recovery...

So I tried flashing twrp recovery and its knocked out my sensors again. I've updated to 4.04 and when I tried installing my ruu I downloaded it said wrong version but its the same one I used before I updated to 4.04. What ruu version am I supposed to have now?

The ruu updated your hboot. The old ruu has a lower hboot version. I think you have a ruu on the 1.29 base you need a 2.17 base ruu now.....please correct me if i'm wrong here mates !
Verstuurd van mijn HTC One X
Ok So I used the ruu to find out what version I should download. It is my current version is 2.17.980.6 and it wanted to downgrade it to 1.29........ So obviously that won't work. I went to the same thread I used when downloading the last ruu but can't find the 2.17.980.6 ruu anywhere. I'll keep searching but has anyone seen it??

Any help greatly received
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
From where are you trying to extract the rom.zip?? What are you trying to do exactly?
If you want to go back to full stock, you can either restore a nandroid backup or run a RUU for your device...
I'm using the guide on here, it says I need to extract the ROM.zip from the ruu then flash them, relock the boot loader then run the RUU, I'm running cm10.1 at the moment.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
To run a RUU, you need to download the ruu, lock yoir bootloader and the run the ruu with admin privileges... That's it...
Which ruu are you using? What is your version-main??

Dowload this ruu : http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...-r-radio-5120416229-release-302015-signedexe/
Lock your Bootloader : fastboot oem lock
Run the ruu with admin privileges.. You will be full stock once again.!

HTC encrypt them.

What is the problem here?? Just lock your bootloader and run the ruu with admin privileges. It will take you back to full stock. In some ruus you can extract, in some you can't. It's just the way it is!

Hey guys, right now I'm trying to go back to stock from the GPE RUU. But, when it reboots into RUU mode, it says:
ERROR[159]: IMAGE ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone.
Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again.
I do have the correct RUU. I re-locked my bootloader and changed the CID back to T-MOB010. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
Sorry, I fixed it. The problem was the HBOOT. I flashed the 3.16.0.000 HBOOT (link), and now the RUU works perfectly.

Then, I went to the thread I linked above and flashed the custom Hboot.
Then, I used command fastboot oem lock to relock the bootloader

After that, the RUU ran fine. Good luck!

Hi today i want to update my kind of outdated htc one x.
I rooted my HOX like 3 years ago because i had it sim-locked and wanted a different provider. I unlocked it and than (i cant remember why) relocked it and now unlocked it again. Because i want to install a custom rom.
I looked for some roms and deciced i wanted to run Viper X (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087443) which runs on Android 4.2.2. I'm on Android 4.0.4 Sense 4.1 because i havent used this phone for a while.
I can't find any proper guides i tried this one : http://wccftech.com/update-htc-one-x-to-cm10-1-android-4-2-2/ but getting a error status 7.
Any help appreciated!
