Best Arc S Stable Rom and Kernel combination. - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is the best current combination for the Arc S? Preferebly updated in the last month with the release of Jelly Bean.
I've tried several roms; JJ, Chaos and others, with DoomKernel, Trinity, Stock with CWM etc.
Looking for something stable, smooth and battery friendly(obviously without compromising too much on performance).
Please only suggest something you have tried and tested, don't care much for past success.
Thanks.
Arc S
Ice Cream Pureness[Build 10][4.0.4]
Xarc Kernel 2.0.431

Well you mentioned all the roms out there!
So please wait for any new rom s!
(you'd have to!)

Well, my last ROM was stock 4.0.4 supercharged, 3G speed-touch-video-overall speed tweaks, and it was a good one (normal stock battery drain).
Now I'm using CM9, the speed and smoothness is impressive, there's absolutely NO lag. But, battery drain is absurdly excessive. So, it's perfect if you like to charge your phone every 2 hours.
Now, I'm gonna try JJ ROM with Arc Knight kernel. Let's see if it have a good (general) response as CM9 and normal battery drain like stock.

Official gb
Cm7
Miui gb
Cm9 stable release
These are stable and good for daily use

Had been using MIUI for months.
Now I'm switching, back and forth between JJ's ROM and Ice Cream Pureness these days.:silly:

[Q] which ICS ROM now is better in your opinion?

Hi guys, i don't know how many of you have flashed the ICS Rom on arc. I am using JJ's Hybird which I flashed about half a month ago and it gave me a pretty good experience.
There are too many new versions of ICS ROM now and I have no ideal which one to choose. Anyone has compared these new ICS ROM? Thanks
I've tried 3 or 4 and the best for me personally is Arconium. It's like the official ICS beta but supercharged!
Ice Cream Sony KA 12... Perhaps the best among other ICS roms..
If you don't mind me asking, have any of the ROMs you've mentioned overcomed the issues with video playback and recording as well as battery drain? And if so, have you found any other bugs that could prevent normal phone usage?
Thanks!
I'm using firebird ics v2 Rom and the battery life is as good as was my arconium v8.1
Nit a single bug found yet, and it's really smooth without supercharger
I love it already!

Arconium is the best IMO. Fully stock, neat and great battery life.
My ICS ROM
I'm using KA12 Ice Cream Sony released update 3/4. It still some bug in my phone. Losing Network operator, hang on boot screen, reload launcher. But it's still a best now.
I tested all another one, but no one liked me like CyanogenMod. The design, but the only think i didnt liked is the Contacts app, i got the GO Contacts to it.
I like this Rom, I hope a official version

[Q] Best GB Rom for Arc S?

Hey guys
I tried several roms and ICS is cool but it feels like an incomplete job, so for the time being I guess i'll go back to GB
Any suggestions? Which GB are you using? How does it feel? Performance, battery etc?
Thanks in advance, I tried Arconium 8.2 but I can't say I was very satisfied, battery didn't last a day, while here on Arconium ICS even with all the flaws I can achieve 2 days easily..
Maybe you can try CM9 / AOKP rom.
The new FXP kernel has good battery life.
CM7.2 with the default FXP kernel - fast, smooth and good battery life
for e.g. you charge up to 70% it would last u for the whole day in IDLE but when in use 8 -10hrs depending how much you use your arc
I went to an ICS rom and loved the new interface and features, i just had one or two little niggles so like you went back to GB. I went stock .62 found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598052 Then used Doomkernal V22 and flashed anniking rom found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1381597
Seems to work ok for me and is a little more pleasing to use than stock GB
Ps forgot to say goes without saying but just incase, if you use dooms kernal make sure you flash the V22 modules to get your wireless etc working.

Arc S - Best Rom for Performance

Hi Guys,
As the title says, I would like to know which is the best Arc S Rom for overall performance/smootheness.
I'm currently on the stock Gingerbread Rom, and honestly I'm quite happy with it, but I really like some of the extra features that ICS has.
The thing is, with all the negative feedback people are giving about lagging and battery consumption, i'm apprehensive about updating.
So I would just like to hear some honest opinions on what do you find is the best ROM, and how does it stack up to the stock gingerbread one.
Thanks
Recently upgraded to the Mooded 4.0.4 rom and it has been great! Coming from Doom's 4.0.3 rom, the newer rom is MUCH better! Overall very responsive and as a result, i can run at 700mhz all day, with no noticeable lags! I did have GB once, but that was quite a while ago, so i can't really compare.. Hope this helps
Current setup: Mooded 4.0.4 rom + ArcKnight RC2 Kernel
GB.
Rooted 2.3.4, Removed all Junk apps.
Ill Tried so many ROMs, all are in my eyes crap.
****ty compatibility, all ics had Problems with 720p Recording, Crappy Games Compatibility and stuff
At least such Superlative ROM Titles like "Hd Gaming, Superfast, GPU Oc" are all lies
Arc isnt a good ICS Base.
No Dualcore, to small RAM.
Gb is The best Choice.
I love the ICS Holo Style.. But for me, Function over Design.
On my old Defy, with Quarx Cm9, all Games runs like Hell, Do a Test, putt Real Racing2 on your ArcS..
On Defy, a ****ing Performance, on Arc, a crappy Joke, even Menue Stuck every Second.
ARCONIUMS work is good.
Now, with GB on 1.6Ghz, ms Arc runs like Charm

Arc does not need even the OC to be fully capable of running ICS. I think you haven't tried Arconium ICS 2.4, the one with the software rendering enabled. Find it in the Dev section and BE HAPPY. It's smooth as hell, everything works fine and I haven't had ANY problems with it so far.
Performance & Smootheness...
I suggest Arconium(GB) , JJ's Hybrid(ICS).
CM7.2 from FXP130 is the best one. It is base on gingerbread. Amazingly fast and support themes. The only issue is it needed custom launcher. I suggested Go launcher. It have ability to overclock up to 1.6 ghz and many other stuffs. Tested and work with many games nice and smooth. Asphalt 6 running fluency. Shadow guns running fine with chinfire 3d by change open gl to nvidia. 200+ free ram. That it!
Edited: if you want holo theme. Theme it CM7.2 have lots of themes including ICS.
i recommend jjhybrid for performance and smoothness. i use this rom from 2.5v til now 3.2v...
im using arconium 4 with XArc kernel. at first it was a little bit laggy but after i installed latest V6 + kick ass kernelizer it was great. very smooth scrolling and everything works just fine
and i overclocked to 1,6GHz for daily use, no heat and stable with XArc

i suggest Xperia S ICS v2.5 . smooth, fast and stable..
GB is dead, deal with it!
Move on.
JJ's Rom & doomkernel smoother than butter

For perfomance, on GB - Stock 62, Acronium 8.2; on ICS - Acronium 4.0 (if you want stocklike ROM), JJHybrid, both with XArc or ArcKnight 3.5.1 OC kernel.
GB is suck! but the best Rom now for Arc is JJ HYBRID very smoothnes and really fast Recommend this rom. Sory my english

[Q] Switching to ICS

Hi, I have been reading the Xperia Arc Android Development fourms for the past few hours trying to decide which Custom Rom / Firmware to go with. I'm simply looking for a method to update my Arc towards a light/speedy phone with ICS.
I have had a few names shout out at me but currently its
Acronium 4.0 -> Trinity Kernal v1.6 or a recommended one he suggests.
I've seen that Trinity is created by the same author as MooDeD ICS.
Pretty much what I'm trying to say is its pretty hard to differentiate which custom rom would be better than the other ...
If I could be directed in the right direction, I would very much appreciate it.
-Sincerely
Steven
Hey, the combination you already wrote is the fasted ICS combination at the moment. Flash Arconium 4.0, Trinity Kernel v1.6 and the new Xperia S apps. You wont really find a faster combination than this right now.
As I know, Trinity kernel has incompatibility to some apps. I use ArcKnight 3.3 which is very good in battery life.
for the ROM, arconium 4 still the best for now.
Regreted changing to ICS
I regreted changing to ICS
Almost all custom ICS ROMs out there don't perform as promised and they are somewhat laggy
I've double-wiped before installing the ROMs so I believe it's not my problem
And GB can give me the smoothness and responsiveness that no other ICS ROMs can

Well try only 4.0.4 based ROM, for speed and responsiveness, I can recommend CM9, AOKP, and JJ Hybrid. Many others claimed Acronium is the fastest, but I've not try it.
My 2 cents

JJ's Hybrid vs Ice Cream Pureness

Hi!
So right now I'm using JJ's ROM but I want to know if Ice Cream pureness is a better option for me.
Things that are important to me:
Vanilla ICS looking.
More free ram.
More smooth/quick.
Customizable.
Thanks if you can help!

How many "vs" threads do we need. Read the descriptions, look at the screen shots, look what's been added or removed, hell, even install it and decide for YOURSELF!
Thanks I've checked it out And I think I'll just stick with jj's, XICP just isn't pure vanilla android design wise

Depends on what a person wants, if he wants a pure AOSP look, feel, speed and build JJ's the way to go, if he wants a different look and feel with some other mods Ice Cream Pureness it's great!
Hybrid drains battery so fast :/ at least for me..

I use JJ's Hybrid with Xarc kernel, no drain! Your problem is the Doomkernel
I've been using ICS since release, it was fine, everything was ok, but it gets slow sometimes
..I got the JJ Hybrid just yesterday, seems good so far
I cant judge about the speed right now because I wiped everything and ofc it will be faster for now

stock kernel don't have init.d support, and jj make lots of tuning with init.d scripts. I test this rom with stock kernel, locked BL, performance and ram usage is close to stock ICS, battery life is like stock ICS too. With kernel that support init.d, result will surely be very different.
