come back to home ≫livepannel≫longpress≫enable search.
click search and type any thing.
come back to home
open Menu≫setting≫scroll down .last icon will be of search. click it≫ tick all .

I told you that when I pressed on the Search icon in the setting it makes restart too.
I think the best thing to do is to delete the search application, HOW?

Maybe the firmware is corrupted.
Try backing up you're files and flash the firmware again.
Or try Factory Reset.

No since that apps is a inbuilt app you cannot delete it that way.
The only options are,
1) To uncheck the selected categories in Search.
2) To Factory Reset you're device(like reinstalling the whole os)
3) Flash the firmware again using Multiloader.

Google search apk

Hey, can anyone link me their google search apk for ICS? I have deleted mine, and can't find it anywhere in the market. Thanks a lot
Should be here.
I have done that already, but the store says my device isnt compatible. Can anyone send me their version of google search for ICS Xperia arc s?
this is the one from Gapps for ics, move to system app etc...
Thanks a lot!

@sinkster
Is there another way??
Cuz my device isn't rooted, and no one around rooted it it!! As after install, I get a message of "Application not installed" :'(
device is MK802 Android Mini PC
thanks mate
The apk I uploaded needs to be either pushed with adb or moved to system/app with a root file explorer. Both require root, but if you don't have root then you can't remove it either... If you're looking for an ics like search box there's one free on the market.

Thank you for uploading that, it was exactly what i was looking for... I am rooted, and moved it to sys >apps but it doesnt work... it allows me to open in and type, and things auto populate, etc... but it doesnt ever actually search, or open the browser, etc after i hit enter... ??? and whenever i try to open settings, or click on anything in it, it freezes.. any ideas?
It is UNBELIEVABLY hard to find information in this version of google search... or even another google search ics apk for that matter. But on the ROM im using, the guy replaced google search with some other, hideous, quick search application and I would like to get rid of it and put google search back on, but am unable to download from google play, i am running on ICS 4.0.3.
Thanks alot!

Have you set the right permissions? Using root explorer or similar it should be: 1st row tick read, write: 2nd and 3rd row only read should be ticked. Screenshot's from my N5, but exactly the same settings.

Yes I did that back when i was trying to make it work... but then when i rebooted the device, it disappeared from the app list in sys > app and i couldnt find it anywhere else... so basically i just flashed Google Now (velvet.apk) onto it and i got that working fine, I realized that all i really had to do was delete my old Search app that the chef put on there and then my search button automatically made google now the default search. so i figured that one out atleast, that was bothering me hahaha... so i might be getting sick of this google now already though, it's laggy as hell and sometimes doesnt allow me to push on the links it provides, and is impossible to update.... so i might have to come back to this. in which case i shall post if i get it working on my device.
thanks for your help! keep on keepin on... hahaha
EDIT: you know what im gonna try to put it on again right now... haha. this google now thing aint gonna work out... haha. but maybe now that i deleted the other search it might work... we shall see *finger's crossed*

Well if you're talking about the stock clock then it SHOULD only appear under 'All', also having 0 data isn't bad as I can get that by pressing clear data. Have you tried Disabling and Re-enabling the app? Maybe force stopping might help too.
Thanks Sgtpanda for your reply, it looks like he was messing around in my file manager at the time..... I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. the button on top where your supposed to be able to disable/enable app...it says uninstall updates..but I have no update for the app? It just disappears altogether when I press uninstall updates...until I reboot again it shows the same thing?.......beating my head..

Okay then, open up your file manager and browser to /system/app, scroll down and there should be DeskClockGoogle.apk at 473.90k and DeskClockGoogle.odex ad 90.27K. Are both of those still present on your device?

Yes they are....just tried to install through there and no dice.
Right so when you try to install the app it says 'Application not installed', because if that's the case then I just broke my clock by moving it and when I put it back I got the same problem as you, the solution was to switch the device on and off which sounds really stupid, but have you tried that?

II tried a reboot and It didn't work either, I don't wanna have to factory reset but I just might have to.. Thank for your help
Well that should work, if you've already done it then hope it did, otherwise my last idea would be to extract the app from a stock rom and overwrite your files.

[Q] How to disable "com.sonyericsson.android.wakeup" in Jelly Bean?

Hello,
Could someone please help me to stop service - com.sonyericsson.android.wakeup ?
This particular service is giving close to 1000 wake calls in very less time.
my phone is with stock rom & i have rooted it. I have read in one of the blog to delete "fast dormancy.apk" file. even though i delete that file, i can still see that service is wake calls to my phone.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.
I couldn't find that file in Titanium backup application. Could you please tell me, if it will be displayed with a different name ?

Don't look for it in Backup & Restore. Go to Batch actions - All, scroll down to Un-install, press RUN where it says : Un-install all user and system apps, press DESELECT ALL, then search for that file, select only that file, and unistall it.
Sorry, am still not able to find "com.sonyericsson.android.wakeup" in the "Batch actions"..

Download Root Explorer, maybe that application will show you all the files in the SYSTEM.
well, i already use Root Explorer.. In System/app folder i can see this service with file name "fast dormancy.apk" .. But infact i don't see this service anywhere running.. so am gonna check if this is waking my phone again...

Well, I guess you don't really have com.sonyericsson.android.wakeup in your system, it's deleted somehow.
Actually using root explorer i removed those files from system/app. But still i was getting wake locks from that service when i saw in better battery stats application. thats why i started this post to know how to stop it totally.
Since here one person suggested to use titanium backup to freeze or delete it, i relocated those apk file again to system/app, now it seems that service is totally missing.. making me crazy!!!

Yes, do a repair, and after that if you still want to delete com.sonyericsson.android.wakeup, do it and don't restore it again. And you'll be fine.
okie but anyways for now i don't see it in better battery stats.. if i still see it i will try to repair it and delete it.
thanks for your time and suggestion..

[Q] App icons and Home screen downloads.

Hi All, I'm a newbie to my device and busy getting to know it and in general find it very easy.
However i have done something, as when i now download apps from playstore they are not appearing in the app page with an icon although they are downloaded. Also when i download the app it states that a shortcut has been created to my homepage (which is not full) but is not there.
The same is happening when i want to make shortcuts to my homepage for web pages.
Can any one help wit a fix.

I would just make sure youve synced everything with google and then do a factory reset through the settings menu pal.

Checked all my google settings and they all seem okay, don't want to be as drastic as a reset as i can still find them by going to files. But will still keep trying to resolve it.

Edge takes 1.6GB of space

Edge takes up too much space. "Clear browsing data" does nothing and I cannot uninstall it so every time there is an update I have to uninstall every app on the phone to be able to install the update. Only solution is to do a reset of a phone, I did it once and now it seems like I'll have to do it again if I don't find workaround.
It seems like "Clear browsing data" is not doing the proper job and it can't delete some cached data or something like that. Is there way to delete those files manually somehow ?
Hey man its a website for hacking and deployment it's not a windows phone Q&A but you can try app data manage tool it will help you to reset edge

You can uninstall oem apps with interop, there's another way to do it "manually", you have to enter your phone with full system access and delete the app, there are a few guides in this forum on how to do that. What build of w10 are you in? if you are in RS2 there's a new option for that, you can reset the app and clear the data with the reset button.

When I try to uninstall it from interop it starts "Fetching information for packages" and when it finishes literally nothing happens Edge is still there.
Im on 10.0.14393.1066, I don't have that feature, someone already proposed that.
