Dust under screen protetors? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Can you rise the wet applied protector up get the clean the dust places then use solution to reapply the protector again? or once you take it off, it's done?

Tried that before. Didn't work. It's a one time deal. The moment you peel it after settling, it stretches already

SGP Spigen HD FLEX screen protector

Hey guys,
First things first. I cant keep a screen protector for more than a couple weeks without messing it up. Usually, I scratch them, corners lift etc. But the sgp ones have never failed me, and the Flex does it too. Call me fanboi, but this screen shield is the bomb for professional droppers/scratchers like me lol
enjoy

I have it on mine for about three days now. At first, I was a bit worried about bubbles on the screen but after one day of usage, they all disappeared.
When trying to scratch the screen with my nail. I could feel kind of flexibility of the screen protector, very nice.!
Only a bit down as when I installed it, wasn't totally dust free so there is a tiny grain near the signal bar, don't know how to get rid of it. But other than that, it's great so far.

Yep. I am not good actually I am awful at installing this things tomorrow it sgp makes it very easy.
Yes it costs more than your regular one dollar ones but god the quality is insane

Use tape to get the dirt out of it.
One tape ar the top of the protector to lift the protector up. And another one to stick with the dust particles. This way you get out the dust without adding it.

Whos using with no screen protector

So I was wondering if Amy of you use this phone with no screen protector and how the screen looks after x amount of time with normal use?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I have had my phone for about 8 months and never had a screen protector on it.. I can't detect one single scratch..
Same here. I don't like screen protectors. I've had this phone 7-12 months now and while my silver rim has scuffs on it, my screen is immaculate. No hairline scratches. It's absolutely mint. I have an OCD with my device screens though. There's always an LCD screen cleaner and microfiber cloth within arms reach of me. I really, really hate dirty mucked up screens lol

Everyone enjoys not having a screen protector..
Until they drop their phone and it gets scratched
I always use one. They cost 3 dollars on ebay for 6 with free shipping. Its worthed
I dropped my phone plenty...
No screen scratches, bezel is all torn up though.

same here, ive had mine just about a year now. the bezel has some nicks in it.. but even a screen protector wont prevent that. I even ditched my case after about a week or so.. its much less bulky then
Yea my silver part is wearing down a little from the case I'm using. I've been debating not using a screen protector. I have one left, i just get tired of them scratching up and dulling the screen. Then on look at my kindle (I know it has gorrila glass) with no case or screen protection and its amazingly clean. And clear. I'm always on the fence about it

I have used screen protectors before for this phone and been without for a while too. And to tell you the truth only when I have a screen protector you can see scratches from everyday use and from my jeans pockets. And when its without I dont see one single scratch
Not bad
I used mine for about a month without a screen protector. I just got Zagg, and I like the feel a lot better.

I've had my Hercules without a protector for near a year. The screen is pristine, no scratches! I love the glass used on this phone. It can get oily but nothing a microfiber cloth can't wipe clean.
I've had the phone since February with no screen protector. Finally dropped it 2 weeks ago, went skidding face down about 3 feet across an asphalt lot. The bezel is scratched up pretty good, but the glass has no scratches at all.
I generally don't use a screen protector but with this phone I decided to. My HTC Glacier I didn't use one and after a year it had no scratches. The reason I did use one with this phone is to retain its value so I can resell and get a better phone when I get sick of it.
Sand scratches the glass so don't think its 100% safe to go without one.
I just put my last screen protector on here. I got a hair scratch down where the hardware keys are. I used to use those cut to fit ones and they would never cover those buttons. Now the one I have is fitted. I probably won't buy any more

I have had mine for 9 or 10 months and the screen looks great, my bezel was dented and such so I tapped of my screen, took a dremel to it and took off the outer coating, now I have an all white s2 with a matte black bezel, with an awesome screen... Pretty bad ass

No screen protector since February. I take excellent care of my phones but just discovered a few horizontal scratches on it that's barely noticeable but still surprised me. Kept in a tpu case

Galaxy Note 2 small scratches

I noticed that my galaxy note 2 have small scratches in the screen and I never dropped my phone. Anyone with the same problem?
So much of the Gorilla Glass 2. they are not scratch proof anyway.
I was lucky when samsung changed mine when my screen had dead pixels
sometime ago. Get a flip case & screen protector when you buy a new phone.
Please reply if anyone has the same issue.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
It's not an issue. Gorilla glass isn't scratch proof, it's scratch resistant. Grains of sand in your pocket can scratch the screen if you're unlucky.

Heard about this a million of times..so the first thing need to be done is to use screen protector when buy new phone..learn from others mistake n dont ignore it or you will regret about it

Fully agree with you. Especially if those 'grains of sand' got between your flip cover and screen.
Do not use screen protector or flip cover.

Screen scratches easily?

I just got my Nexus 7 (2013) a few days ago and there is a thin scratch in the middle of the screen. The thing is, I don't even know how it got there. Its not connecting to the bezel or the end of the glass, so I don't think its a scratch. Should I bring it back? Or will they just say its my fault? Anyone else notice their screen scratching easily?

I thought I saw fine scratches on mine already, but i cleaned it really well and now its flawless again. I'd take it back and not say anything about the screen. just say its been randomly rebooting and you want to exchange for another one.

How do you scratch this baby?
With your fingers?
Do you put some books on the screen?
Do you put the tab in your pocket?
Sorry I can't figure out..

I noticed a very fine scratch on mine also. I had been putting it screen face down when I place it down somewhere to protect the screen, should something fall on it. I don't know how it got the scratch but it is annoying. I now put it screen up when I put it down somewhere though.
The silicone adhesive on the 'hard' screen protectors will fill it in for the most part.

Warning about Zagg (and screen protectors in general) on Galaxy S3

Removed my zagg protector today and noticed the glue from the shield completely took off the oleophobic coating. Now the glass isn't as smooth and attracts fingerprints even more. Just a warning to those putting on a screen protector, you may actually be damaging the phone.

I noticed that too. I'm sad now. I took the screen protector off cause I wanted the nice slidey feeling back but now it feels different

Thanks for the info!
I prefer the ones you can re use. They work pretty well. when it gets dirty or has bubbles, you can pull it off, rinse and re apply. None of that sticky mess or hoping it's set right the first time

I use armor shield and they have held up pretty well
I can't remember where i saw it but a few months ago i saw the kit online to replace the glass screen coating....oleo whatever.
Maybe find something here http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-SGH-i747-AT-T-s/18091.htm
and how to take it apart here http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/search/samsung+galaxy+s3
I use self laminating sheets from Office Max. I Cut to fit and apply. Easy to remove too. They last maybe two weeks, but they do give some protection to the screen and it's super inexpensive since you get so many sheets to a box. They look just fine. I don't think they cling hard enough to remove any coating but I haven't really looked for that.

I removed my Zagg InvisibleShield from my S3 the other day without any ill effects. It was applied the day the phone was purchased sometime about a year ago. That was an expensive clear sticker. I won't miss the rubbery feeling one bit!
Maybe those having problems are following different install methods?

I took mine off, too, without seeing any negative effects on the screen. I got a tempered glass screen protector and now won't ever use anything else. It feels just like the original glass and protects the phone at the same time.
I like the Zagg stuff. I've had them on all my phones and never had an issue. I have the HD on my GS3 now and had it replaced a couple times, but nothing left on the screen.
ZAGG was pretty good for the iPhones.
Thanks for the heads up on this one. Phew.
Used Armorshield on my Nexus 4.
Probably will do the same for my GS3. :highfive:
