i'm not really into all of that stuff.. but i just tried and failed miserably, haha.
so this is my problem:
i got a htc one x, rooted it and everything was alright. after that i tried to flash cyanogenmod 10 on it. i followed these stepps in this video: /watch?v=elDvcVot7qo (i would enter the full link.. but i'm not allowed to, because this is my first post here)
so i downloaded the cm10_endeavoru-ota-eng.noeri-007.zip and ripndroidgapps-jb-20120805.zip .. but instead of putting both of them onto my sd card, i put all the datas which were IN the files onto my device. now my handy is stuck on the bootloop and i have no access to my sd card anymore.. i just need the access to fix it, does anyone know a solution for it?

If you did a backup in cwm you can restore it or try and flash the rom again just make sure you read through the whole process a couple of times, mistakes are very easy to make, also look for threads about the rom you are flashing and try and cross reference the procedure, this sometimes helps ...good luck!

I've been looking around a lot and I'm seriously to the point where I'm totally confused, I have my friend's HTC ONE X (international one) where we followed Hsasoon2000's tool kit (which also uses htcdev website) to unlock the boot loader and it apparently it did and everything was good but when we tried to install the CM10 rom for jellybean using his toolkit the phone got into this "boot loop" and we can't figure how to fix it.. we can get to the bootloader.. where if we select recovery it takes us to this "team win recovery project" thing and gives us several options but .. we are pretty new to this and we don't want to screw this even more. I got to the USB storage mount and I'm able to get into the files through the computer.. can any of you guys help please?? WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT

You can search how to get and use fastboot, I have no link. It is requirement for pretty much any ROM, though.

Hi guys, I've had my Desire rooted for around 2 months and have used loads of
ROMs/Mods etc. It's fair to say I know the procedure. At the moment though I'm
puzzled and worried because I have lost my previous ROM and can't get a new one
on!
I was flashing a new version of Pinky Desire over the previous one (without wiping)
and it never got to the reboot screen. So I took out the battery and put it back in
to reboot it. It got to the custom boot screen and no further so I then booted into
recovery and wiped data and cache and re-flashed the ROM, but the result was
the same...
So I tried this a couple more times until suddenly the recovery-windows.bat file
would no longer put me into a recovery menu. I've tried everything I can think of
(using my original Goldcard etc) but nothing is fixing it- it's like I've lost root access.
How can I make my phone useable again? PLEASE HELP!!!
EDIT: In case it makes a difference I did delete what I thought were some old .zips from my SD shortly before this.
Install an official RUU, then re-root it? I guess some of the pro's got some better answers though
Download the ClockworkMod recovery, rename it in update.zip, put it in the sd, enter recovery, when you get the red triangle press vol up+power, select to flash update.zip.
Yep, flash an ruu, then re-root, only this time use unrEVOked and for future when flashing roms use the newer recoveries like clockworkmod or amonra.
The old recoverywindows.bat file leaves you at risk of the usb brick. You may well already have that now if you pulled the battery mid flash.
Thanks all. Haven't had a chance to do this yet but will. I did manage to flash an update.zip but it won't detect the sd. will try with clockwork mod.

Tried this but all I'm getting is cannot find directory. It retries about 12 times then
reboots. Just won't work.
When trying to flash an RUU it comes up with 'Error 170: USB connection error'.
This is weird because the device's bootloader recognises that there's a usb
connection. Any ideas?
EDIT: Seems like the phone in it's current state simply can't mount an sd card.
Gotta try some alternative methods for getting the RUU to run...

please help my phone doesn't want to go pass the recovery i try to do a recovery but it tells me that can't mount sdcard and after that goes black and giving me a five or six vibrations anyone knows any knows any fix please Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks from a Noob
Are you able to get access to the bootloader? I'm unsure of where you're problem is. Please outline your steps and where it's failing.
yes am able to get to bootloader but when i get to select zip file to install bam there it goes E:/ can't mount sdcard that's as far as it goes and if i get it to restart i get a black screen with 6 vibrations and a blinking green light. any idea???
well you're trying to install something from the bootloader and we need to get to recovery. Bootloader will try to install whatever is labeled pc36img.zip on the root of your sd card. This can contain installs for radios, recoveries (clockwork/amen ra), splash screens and maybe some other things. If you have a recovery installed you should be able to NOT install form the sd card when you are in bootloader and then load recovery where you would flash your new ROM. If you don't have a bootloader installed, You will need to download one (do a search for Amen Ra or clockwork), rename the install zip to pc36img.zip, move it to the root of your sd card and then in the bootloader when it ask you if you want to install, then you can hit yes. Once the recovery is installed, then you need to load recovery flash everything but your sd card and install a new ROM.
Hope this helps
If you don't have option to go to recovery from bootloader, then you need to put a recovery in PC36IMG form on root of SD card. Then power on by volume down and power button. Bootloader should find and install your recovery.
On another note. Over last 2 yrs, I've seen many people lose recovery, get the 5 vibrates, and never be able to recover from it despite valiant effort. Hopefully this is not your case.

I am in a situation sort of like this guy:

It is recognised in fastboot but not adb, so I can flash boot.img. I also have CWM recovery.
I have tried the RUUs but they fail with an unknown error.
I tried manually pushing a system.img from the RUU's rom.zip but it's too large for fastboot (Error 000000006)

Hi,
First of, I'm sorry if I overlooked a similar thread on XDA, but I'm really in a state of panic.
I bricked my HTC One X today, while I was trying to upgrade to CM 10.1. Please note I am a total noob here, so please don't rage at my stupid mistakes. I'll try to summarize what I did before my phone stopped working.
1. I rooted my phone via this method http://onexroot.com/one-x-root/how-to-root-one-x/
2. I tried installing cm 10.1 via this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786696&highlight=boot
3. Since I didnt get step 7 in that guide (about flashing boot), and because a bit further he says "boot.img included in the installer zip.", I thought I'd just skip it (I know, really stupid)
4. Obviously it didn't work, restored to where I was before step 2 (tested if I could start my phone, it worked), extracted the boot.img in the pack, and used a command prompt via pc to flash it. It said this
C:\Users\Lukas\Downloads\OneXRoot>fastboot flash boot boot.img
sending 'boot' (4958 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.681s]
writing 'boot'...
(bootloader) Format partition LNX done
OKAY [ 0.507s]
finished. total time: 1.188s
I just put the boot.img in the OneXRoot folder, so I didn't have to rewrite the command.
5. Again, it didn't work. Restored again to same point as before, but now my phone gets stuck on the HTC screen.
I'd like to add that at this moment I haven't found out how to get in the internal storage of my phone, so I can't even download the stock rom, and work from there.
Again, I'm a big noob, this is about the max of my rooting/flashing-skills, so guide me as slowly as possible.
Please help!
Lukas
Oke.....
Go into the recovery and mount the sdcard as a mass storage device. Then you have acces to the sdcard.
What would you like to do in the first place now ? Het CM10.1 or stock ?
If you did a nandroid backup of the stock rom you do this
Mount the sdcard in the recovery
Copy the boot.img from the nandroid backup and flash it in the bootloader with the toolkit or manual commands
Then enter the recovery and perform a full wipe, then you restore the nandroid backup
Okè. You can access internal storage within recovery. Select mounts and storage > plug in usb cable > mount usb storage.
For booting the ROM, there's one thing you missed. Due to DMCA takedown the vendor blobs are missing from builds and that's why they don't boot.
You need to take a look at the cyanogenmod thread in original development and in the first post you can find a link for the vendor installer zip that you need.
Just flash it in recovery after flashing the rom.zip.

Otherwise you can try this recovery

Maybe something with my pc settings?
Strange ..... sure you connected the usb cable ......try another port
One of these 2 recoverys must work ...... don't see why not
I wish I were that stupid But no, tried all my ports, doesn't connect. It does make the sound however, so I know it's not that.. In the mean time, I got a single step closer. I downloaded the most recent boot img, and flashed it.
It still doesn't start, but now it doesn't stop at the HTC screen, but the HTC One X screen.. Progress, I guess
Edit: Tried my roommates pc, it catches!!! I'll keep you posted on my progress, but for now, thank you so very much!
Try to push the file you need with adb.
adb push (pathofsourcefile) /sdcard/

adb push C:\files\derp.zip /sdcard/

FIXED
Guys, thank you so very much!
It is now fixed, although I still don't have cm10.1, I can at least use my phone again. For the people who want to know what I did:
1. Apparently, my pc can't identify the 'mount usb' from CWM, so I had to go to another pc.
2. I searched and found the boot.img that I used in my backup
3. Flashed that img.
And now it's fixed!
Again, thanks very much, it seems these things can make grown men cry...
So it was the pc ! .....
---------- Post added at 10:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:22 PM ----------
If you want cm10.1 you need the rom.zip, gapps.zip and the vendors file too
Make a full wipe in the recovery and install the rom, gapps, vendors ...don't reboot
Reboot to the bootloader
Adb reboot bootloader
And flash the boot.img from cm10.1
RE
Allright, I will do that, have the files on my phone now. But not until tomorow, I really have to rest from this 4 hour panic-attack
Fair ! And charge the phone to 100% before you start .... may save you from trouble if it doesn't work for some reason. Then you always have plenty battery to restore a nand
Hey guys.
I just got the wildfire s from MetroPCS. I'm looking to root it and get a custom rom on here, also looking to free up some space, I only downloaded facebook so far and my memory is already full and I cant download anything else.
I've been poking around looking for what I need in the massive amounts of threads, but I cant really seem to find clear posts. I'm also concerned about which roms and rooting methods are okay to use considering I'm on Metro. Also looking for an unbrick guide, just incase something goes horribly wrong.
First time htc user.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
First of all, unlock your bootloader here,

install a custom recovery, for example clockworkmod, sry i'm not allowed to post the link yet, because i'm new. -.-

Verstuurd van mijn Wildfire S A510e met Tapatalk
If you just want to free up some space, install link2sd.
It can be found in the Play Market but first you need to make a second partition on your SD Card.
You can do this easily with MiniTool Partition Wizard.
So take your SD Card out of your phone and put it into your computer and then start MiniTool Partition Wizard.
Resize the partition and use the free space to make a new partition. You can format it to FAT16/32, ext2, ext3 or ext4.
Then put it back into your phone and start link2sd and then it should say to reboot. Click reboot now.
Then start link2sd again and click on the apps you want link to your SD Card. Click create link.
If you do this with some of your apps, there will be more internal storage available.
I should download the CDMA version right? I don't think I have adb.
Also, I have no way of putting my SD card into my computer. Is there any other way to do that?

for the stock rom you can just connect your phone to your computer and copy the roms that way. most digital cameras also have that feature, so you could use one if you have one.
Download latest CWM.
Download fastboot.exe
Reboot into HBOOT
Reboot into FASTBOOT
Connect your phone to your computer making sure ADB is enabled in the phone
Open CMD
Go to the directory where both fastboot and recovery are located (They must be in same directory)
Rename your recovery file to recovery.img
Type in in CMD:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
It will be flashed and now grab a root.zip
Flash it through recovery
Reboot phone
Update SU binary or install SuperSU and you're done
