Can one by such conductive stylus and simulate Note usage? I know it's not the same but just thinking if I could write notes with it for example?

You won't get anywhere near the accuracy of the Note's EMR pen. But sure, you could do it.

Right! That is a serious issue! Screen contamination can be permanent and void you warranty. #sarcasm

It is possible to make a stylus with high accuracy. Just need the right materials.

I have not tried these but they supposedly work ok. I'm sure the accuracy is nothing like the one in the Galaxy Note though.
I have a few capacitive styluses that I use on my Asus Transformer. I bought them from ebay for a few pounds each and they work very well especially in graphic design apps such as Sketchbook Express.
Worthy addition to any capacitive screen.

Are they like the ones I posted? There are many different designs so some are probably crap while others are pretty good. Would you happen to have a photo of the one you think is best?

Ten One Design make some pretty good capacitive styli. I used their Pogo Sketch with my phone for a while and it was excellent - but drawing on a 3.7" phone just isn't any good so I gave it to my mother (who has an iPad 2.)
As for Deal Extreme, I tried one of these: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/aluminum-alloy-touchpad-stylus-pen-for-apple-ipad-ipad-2-black-57797, and it worked. It was pretty crappy though.
U can check out the adonit jot & jot pro (Check my sig)... in my opinion it's the best out there. Also theres the Writepad Stylus app for handwritten notes, also the best of the best!!!

I've looked around and got stuck playing Draw Something rolleyes
But the screen is not designed for perfect drawing with fingers (I am not fat). So I've decided to get a stylus, does anyone else have one, which one is best recommended for value, quality and accuracy?

I would like to know this too. Searching for one as well.
Same here. I want a stylus with a small tip for drawing. All others I see has no tip at all and I find no difference in using that or fingers.

I have the Adonit Jot Pro... not cheap but worth every penny. I actually have 3, one for my iPad, one for using with the SGS2 and my Dell Streaks and one for using with my TouchPad
Any link where you got that??

I use Wacom Bamboo stylus for iPad as well for Galaxy S II. It is responsive and has a good built.

I have a question is there anyway or it might already be ported to get the s-pen to work like it does on the galaxy note? Being able to write and it shows on the screen? Or is that a hardware type thing? All these might be a stupif question but I thought I'd ask

As long as the pen tip conducts ur electricity to the screen it should register properly. (Its not really conducting your electricity im just avoiding getting into the physics) I'm just not sure if our screen has the appropriate layers for pen tip abuse....scratching etc .
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
There are stylus' out there that are made for use with our device, to prevent scratching and they register fine on our screen. I recommend going online and looking up some accessories for our phone and they will usually point you in the right direction.
Just go on amazon and look for capasative stylus. I got a 3 pack for like $5 that work great.

I recall seeing a review on this. It doesn't work on anything other than the Note. The reviewer said something about the Note having added software that allows it to work with the s-pen. I'll post the link to the review when I find it.

The s pen will not work. It works differently than a standard stylus, (its inductive) and will only work with the hardware layer on the note. Any CAPACITIVE stylus will work.

So whenever I try and use the s pen it sucks. If I hover over anything it acts like i selected it. I just want to know is there a way to disable this. I don't want the s pen to do anything unless I actually touch the screen with it.

Return it . My brobwas doing the same thing and he returned it

My phone also does this. I'm waiting to see how bad of a problem this is before I make my decision.

I believe that's the Airview feature of the S-Pen which you can disable from the S-Pen option settings.
It's a known problem.
Some people have taken the pen apart. Rather, i just slammed the pen on a hard surface a few times.
Fixed. I'm not joking. Try it. I promise you it will work

What, like throw it down flat, or stab the point onto a hard surface?
Had the same problem, returned the phone and got a new one.

too funny!
maybe they should put that in the user manual!!
Glad it's working for you. Cant wait to get mine on the 29th
Holy ****, it fixed mine. I dropped it with a little bit of force, and sure enough it quit messing up. I appreciate it. I was also about to return mine.
I ended up swapping my pen for a returned pen. Tapping the pen mostly fixed it but it still had a problem on a the right side of the screen where I would have to tap really hard to activate a button press.

Best troubleshooting for your S Pen
Thanks this method worked for me too!!! Gave it two gentle slams on the table and was good to go. LMAO!! I called samsung to report the issue and they had no way of helping me out, I will call them back and have them implement this technique into their troubleshooting steps.
S Pen Issue
Having a problem, wondering if its just me.. When i go to use S Note, the pen is automatically set to the eraser, and if i select the brush mode, its still using the eraser. I can only write if i press and hold the button on the s pen, then bring it close to the screen.. and then its like an etch a sketch where my lines would all be connected.. As soon as I take the s pen away from the screen and go to write again, its back on the eraser! any help would be greatly appreciated..- Matt
That's not how it's supposed to work. Maybe you have a defective device? Either way I would bring it back to T-Mobile to get it checked out. Are you running a custom rom?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Mine was hover selecting too but updated to the latest OTA, still had the issue. So I disabled and re-abled Air View and my problems were fixed. All has been good for a few days.
Yeah, it was working before but now its just all screwy, im waiting for my buddy who also has the Note 2 for tmo to come by im going to try his pen. This way I can figure out if its the pen or the phone. Thank you for letting me know that this isnt how its supposed to work!
I play guitar, and also recently jumped to a Gnex. I'm just curious, has anyone else found that your calices make it hard to use (like the touchscreen is uncomfortable)? This doesn't really matter, I'm just kinda curious.
Edit - Yes, I realize how strange a question this is.

i also play, but my thumbs are not callused so it doesnt affect me all that often. sometimes when i pinch to zoom using my left hand i have to either press a little harder, or change the angle of my hand to use the fleshier part of my index finger...but my guess is this is with most touch screens
I figured this wasn't a question even worthy of Q&A so I put it here... But, yeah, I've only found this to happen on my Gnex. Odd.
Maybe a screen protector?

my fingertipps are completely screwed up from guitar and ukulele, but it feels great when you swipe, its more buttery that way. normal fingers can get stuck sometimes, at least if they're not the total dry sort.

There is a guitarist thread in android off topic in the main forum .
I don't see how you have issue I always use my guitar pick hand not the fret hand. The fret hand is where all the roughness is. Unless you play flamenco.

Wow! Glad it wasn't just me! I decided to get a simple Verizon screen protector... it did help a little.

My God reading this thread is like being in a universe where no one knows how to spell calloused properly. D:
Anyway my right thumb is pretty calloused from opening my knife a lot so it has become less sensitive on the screen. I have learned to rotate my thumb to use the non-calloused part to use it though.

I normally use my picking hand on my phone, not my fretting hand. But trying it the other way around isn't more difficult to me at least.
