So I've been playing around with faux's kernel and seeing what kind of under volt I can achieve. I have to say that my chip was severely over volted in the stock configuration. Here is my stable under volt results. I have ran an assortment of apps to test stability at different frequencies and this seems very stable for me. I do have a little tinkering to still do in the lower ranges. Anyways post your results and let me know what your getting with your cpu. I want to see who has the golden chip. =)

Oh it's worth mentioning. Do not try these settings on your phone if you don't know what your doing. It probably won't brick it but it can cause major instability and reboots.

wow man that is some major under volting. glad everything is stable for you!! i really have never messed with those settings, i usually run trinity 46g kernel and everything seems good.

Yeah it seems to be a really good chip. I was rocking trinity 43 but switched back to faux 11. Runs great and it doesn't throttle anymore (due to overheating). So it is overall a lot smoother in everyday use. I think I could probably run 2ghz stable.

With that kind of uv how much more battery life do you get vs other kernels or not uv at all?

Honestly I don't know yet. Every time I use the UV kernel I mess with the settings and benchmark too much lol. I'll update in the next couple days. It is WAAAY better than stock but I need to see if it is better than trinity where I could get almost 6 hours of on screen with normal usage.

That is some serious under volting! Holy smokes. I am envious. As I have a crippled CPU in my gs3. I can't flash any kernel that has the 1839 MHz frequency unlocked. My phone just won't boot. My CPU max is 1728 I believe. And when I tried to under volt, well, I don't even wanna talk about that, I thought my phone was possessed! I'm thinking bout sending this piece in and getting it replaced, but I know for a fact they are going to want some type of deduct able. Ah well, maybe its best I don't get to play with that frequency or undervolting, I'd hate for my chip or phone to melt.

Haha I thought my results were really good. I figured if mine are this good there must be much better out there because I have terrible luck.

So far I have tried a few different kernels
-Netarchy 4.2 cfs More agressive
-Baked kernel #6
-HTC Stock kernel #10
-Ziggy 11/5
I have seen relatively even battery life with all 4 to be quite honest, the stock kernel doesn't seem to sleep as well as the others. With any of the others I can leave the phone sit with the screen off for a couple of hours and the battery percentage will not move. With the stock kernel it seems to drop about 5-6% every 2 hours or so. HOWEVER, that is pretty applicable to when the phone is on as well. My favorite kernel performance wise so far has been Baked #6. Very smooth transitions and very stable with no issues of force closing or lag.
*I used SetCPU no overclocking with a screen off profile set up for all of these besides Ziggys. Reason being is that he has a script built into the kernel that will conflict with SetCPU if not disabled and I did not feel like doing that.
Enable always on mobile data: OFF
Background Sync: OFF
I have Watchdog installed and that's it.
Favorite so far: Baked 6 and HTC stock
I had good luck with kings#9. But my phone really dislikes kernels. Ziggs was fast but lagged hard in angry birds. Nach I had a ton of force closes. For now ill stick with htc#10. With moderate use ill see a 60% drop after my 10hr work day

Topics says it all. You should learn not to put much weight into these benchmarks, but the new update should give a clearer picture of our devices performance.

chainfire only works if you have it enabled. Do you have a per-app profile for Quadrant? I get 3200ish with 700-1200 francoTurtle. I wasn't really expecting that much.

I ran a lot of test and figured out the having "force gpu rendering" checked will increase your 2d score on quadrant.
I get 900-1000 with it enabled
I get 200-300 with it not checked.

Great, finally a proper way to compare our e-penises. Let's hope people still realize Quadrant scores are not a good way to compare roms... (or maybe I'm just saying this because my scores are rather low )
Whats the fatest and most stable ICS which has a great battery life. Tried JB roms and I think there battery life is ok not good for day to day use in my view .
Tersus Status is really good. Battery lasts crazy long and runs smooth as hell. Isn't laggy like some ics roms can be.

Re-Calk 0.2.1 seems to be a good replacement for the old Blazer Rom 0.1.5 since he stopped updating.
I suggest running the Agat 6.2 kernel with the Re-Calk, seems to be a nice combo. If you want the data speeds though, do Agat's repacked kernels.
I usually to go back to Re-calk/Blazer Rom all the time after flashing every other rom under the sun just to test drive, but like every one else said, depends on your phone, depends how you tweak your settings, and it has been discussed before.

:good: Agreed. I've tested a quite few roms and kernels since being on JB and this is the current combo I've settled on (Re-Calked 0.2.1 with Agat kernel). You'll be glad to know it's also MHL HDMI out compatible as well...
Tersus Status- It is like the calk's gb for ics.! Way to go _dan!

I didn't really know Tegrak let you go over 1.35 gigs without your phone powering off unless you set the core voltage way up too. Or at least match them together. So I've had my phone clocked to 1.5 for a couple hrs now and been playing Temple Run 2 and other games as well with no issues. I've got the gpu maxed out too. Of course it kills your battery but I've got 4 and 2 wall chargers so that's not an issue. This is really nice. Stock kernel too!

I did lol... I prefer battery life, it runs just fine without overclocking... I'm coming from a single core 800mhz (which I had to OC to 1.3ghz just to use JB) EVO Shift, this thing runs like a dream compared to what I'm used to.

Sent from my GT-I9505G using xda premium
Overclocking means increasing the clock frequency of a hardware component, cpu , gpu past manufacturer spec i.e increasing the ammount of cycles per second people also play with the voltages to increase stabilty just makes the device perform slightly better and makes the user feel special with bragging rights my S4 is overclocked
