I need to officially flash v20c over v18f - LG Nitro HD

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29592745&postcount=79
Instructions how to officially flash v20c over v18f leaked with root access.
0. If you have rooted v18f firmware go to 4.
1. Download and start P930_UDT_v18f_04112012.exe follow instructions.
2. After flashing turn on USB debugging and unknown sources.
3. Get root with TPSparkyRoot_ICS.
4. Start before.bat.
5. Download and start LGMobile Support Tool. It says that the new firmware (v20c) available.
6. Follow the flashing process. Approximately on 95% progress phone reboots and you will see white logo.
7. Start after-KDZ-flashed.bat without waiting for the end of the installation in LGMobile Support Tool.
8. Press Power+VolumeDown and do factory wipe.
9. Now you have rooted v20c firmware.
but where can i find "before.bat" and "after-KDZ-flashed.bat"?

Phone stuck in download mode...

How do I fix this? I'm on SU640...
I already tried removing the battery, turning it on just goes back to download mode...
You will probably need to flash it again with the LG tool. See the unbrick thread in this forum, you'll need to use that to flash the Korean ROM again.

p930 able to flash korean rom, but why cant we flash ice cream korean?
Forgot to update, fixed it... This happened while I was downgrading from 10L to 10f, what I did was:
1. Download new kdz(maybe it was corrupt)
2. Download the tool
3. Install sxml.msi
4. Install LG united drivers
5. Connect phone and let it install drivers
6. Extract kdz to C:/ don't put it in more folders also the tool. I think the shorter path helped.
7. Put phone in download mode (Mine was stuck there)
8. Run the program, click cs_emergency
9. Choose kdz
10. Launch software.

[Q] Can't get Recovery/Root. Need help please.

I NOW HAVE ROOT AND RECOVERY!
Thanks to mariostar32 and krankdroid!
Hi all,
I've just bought a Note II and am trying to get root. I've followed this tutorial carefully
HTML:
http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-2-on-linuxubuntu/
and everything completes without error, but whenever I try and boot into recovery it just get a garbled Samsung boot logo and it never gets to recovery.
Now I can't go back to stock updates since my device has been modified, so I'm commited to getting root and custom recovery now.
Can anyone help me with what is going wrong?
Thanks
download the last version 4.1.2 and flash it via odin. If you need any help tell me.

I can no longer download updates from Samsung since I have tried to root it already.
I can't use Odin since I don't have Windows.
I have tried the method in the link above using Heimdall (Odin equiv. for Linux) and everything went fine (no errors, terminal output was as expected) but cannot get into any recovery (stock or custom)
Before you proceed with tutorial, make sure:
You have installed your Galaxy Note 2 N7100 USB drivers on your PC.
You need to enable USB debugging mode which is deactivated by default.
You smartphone should have 70-80% charge remaining.
Your Galaxy Note 2 N7100 should be factory unlocked.
Backup your important data like Call logs, SMS and other data in stored in phone memory so in case if anything goes wrong, your data is not hurt.
The update is only meant for Galaxy Note 2 N7100, so don’t try it on other variants.
Step 1) Download Android 4.1.2 XXDLK7 for Galaxy Note 2 N7100. " I can't post outside links so type in google galaxy note 2 xxdlk7 "
Step 2) Download ODIN v3.07. It's an old version but you can download a newer version of odin from google but it works np
Step 3) Turn OFF your mobile and go to Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down + Home Buttons together for few seconds followed by Power button until you see Android logo with triangle on screen.
Step 4) Now open ODIN on your PC and connect your Galaxy Note 2 N7100 to your computer.
Step 5) Once your phone is successfully connected to your PC, the ID:COM box on ODIN will turn yellow and will show the COM port number.
Step 6) Select the downloaded file to install by following below steps:
Click on PDA and select file with HOME or CODE in its name.
Now click on Phone and select file with MODEM in its name.
Next click on CSC and select file with CSC in its name.
At last click on PIT and select file with .pit.
Step 7) Again to to ODIN window and check Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options.
Step 8) Click on Start button in ODIN window to start the installation process. The process will take few minutes to complete.
Step 9) When the installation is completed, your phone will restart. I hope that i helped you GoodLuck

I can't use Odin, there is no Linux version.
I've found the TWRP for the Note II:
HTML:
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/115
Does anyone know if I flash the latest .img file from that using Heimdall will that give me a recovery to then install Super-SU from?
I've only just bought this phone and can't afford to buy another if I brick it, so I'm hesitant to just try without some expert knowledge.
you must be rooted first before putting twrp.

Ok, so how can I root it?
The only Linux tutorial I've found doesn't work since I can't get a working recovery in order to install Super-SU and get root.
Is there another way to get root? Or another method that might give me a recovery so I can get root?
Ok after you did the tutorial you got rooted or not ? download root check from play store and check

No I do not have root. I wish to get root access and install a recovery, then Super-SU.
Try this, It's a root way without odin.

You can get the mobile Odin that let's you flash firmware from the device itself.

Great! I'll get that to install TWRP or CWM then, since Heimdall seems to be corrupting the recovery when flashing it.
I've got root now (thanks to mario above!) so mobile odin is a good option
Thanks!
It's nice to see that you get rooted, nw download mobile odin and flash twrp.img

[Q] Installing ROM's to P930?

So what I am wanting to do, is flash a custom ROM to the phone, It's rooted, I have CWM installed, I have the gapps and a few roms I want to test out. But every time I go to flash, they come out to be successful, yet when I reboot my phone, it takes me into the recovery for the device and says:
Code:

Secure booting Error!
Cause: boot certification verify
______________________________________________
__________________________________________________ _________________________
Enter the fastboot...
Enter the fastboot...
Long time no see!

I really don't understand what i am doing wrong. Do I need to unlock the OEM, do I need to flash some type of custom kernel? I really don't understand how I have the hardest time with the installation of this phone, yet everyone else can get it spot on. I have been trying to do this for some time but there has been no luck on installing the roms. Any and all assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.

You still have a locked bootloader...same problem trajik has here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-nitro-hd/general/ics-root-access-recovery-access-t2976973
Confirm you have root (with Rootchecker) and run Swetnes' .bat file to get the unlocked bootloader and CWM in one easy step.

Seriously, thank you so much, you have been an absolute help with this. A friend of mine and I tried doing this about two years back and still had no luck with it. I am sure if him and I did a little more searching we could have did it but you have provided me with a lot of help in this. Thanks so much.
Also, on that last part, I know it is optional, but would you suggest flashing a new baseband? I am doing a backup right now, not that it really matters because every time I hook it into the LG mobile support tool I can just click the update recovery and it'll reflash the 4.4 ROM. But would you suggest getting an upgraded baseband?

You can flash the kdz (stock file) for the update you have available by using LG Flash Tool 2014 (do a Normal flash).
The instructions and tools required for flashing a KDZ file are in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
The steps are roughly:
1. Find and download the correct KDZ file for your phone by following this link (replacing IMEI at the end with your IMEI)
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI
2. Flash the KDZ using LG Flash Tool 2014
3. Once finished flashing and the phone has rebooted, re-install TWRP and flash root
Cheers.
Thanks I'll give it a try

Problems with Safety Net

After the last OTA update, my Moto G5 started to boot with the following warning:
"
Your device has failed verification and may not work properly.
To learn more visit:
motorolacom/unlockbootloader
ID: N/A
Your device will boot in 5 seconds
"
It also started to restart randomly.
I did some research on the web and found out that this warning appears when someone unlocks/roots the device.
The problem is that I aver never unlocked the bootloader or rooted the device.
When I boot to fastboot it says "OEM Locked" and the app DevCheck says that I am not rooted.
It seems to me that the update corrupted something and now some piece of software flags my device as unlocked.
Besides the irritating screen, some apps are not working properly or cannot be downloaded from the store.
I tried to reset to factory settings and wipe caches. Problem still happens.
I'd like to know if you guys know a solution for this problem.
I saw on another post that this problem was happening on some Verizon Moto Zs and they provided a software to reinstall the rom
Unfortunately, Motorola has not released a software to do the same to unlocked devices.
My ROM version is: NPPS25.137-33-6 (yeah, there is an "S" that I don't find in the roms available here)
The baseband is: M8937_8000.122.02.45R
(CEDRIC_BRAZILDSDS_CUST)
I was thinking in loading the rom into internal memory, reboot in recovery mode and flash the rom using the option "Install package from zip".
Do you know if it would work without an unlocked bootloader. Is it safe?
Thank you for the help,
Don't know if you can flash the boot logo without an unlocked bootloader but if you can here it is
Put phone in fastboot mode
Download logo from link below
Enter the following in a windows command prompt where you have fastboot files (Google to learn howto install Android sdk) & the logo file
Code:
fastboot.exe flash logo logo-g5-fix.bin
http://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-idWfPYugGvREJaR3B0UFIxUkU/view?usp=sharing
If you can't then you have no option but to wait for Motorola to fix it if you really haven't modded your phone
TheFixItMan, I really appreciate your answer.
But in that case wouldn't I just be changing the warning screen?
The problems with Netflix and other apps would remain.
I need something to fix the cause of the problem.
Have you guys heard about that problem before?

You can go back to stock using ADB update or by flashing VERIFIED images in bootloader mode. This will work even when bootloader is locked.

To flash using bootloader I need just to copy the .zip in the internal memory, reboot in reboot in bootloader mode and select the option "install from .zip file"?

If I flash an unverified image will my device brick ou the bootloader will present a "impossible to procede" screen?

you can flash what ever you want in fastboot -
However - In terms of firmware, if you are trying to flash incorrect firmware then the verification check will fail and it will not flash
Just don't flash a new bootloader if you are worried about it - its not needed unless you are upgrading an android version and that version has an updated bootloader
So I am safe if I follow these steps:
Manually Update Android Nougat for Moto G5 (NPP25.137-33) via Recovery
First of all, Go to Settings –> About Phone –> Tap on Build Number 7 Times.
Go to Developer Options –> Enable USB Debugging.
Save Stock Android Nougat rom for Moto G5 and save it in Internal storage.
Reboot Moto G5 Plus to Recovery Mode.
Select Apply Update from SD Card.
Select the Downloaded ZIP file from SD Card.
Wait until Installation process Completes.
Once the Installation completed. Reboot the Phone.
If my ROM is a wrong version, will the bootloader detect and deny instalation?

if you are talking about an official ota update then it will fail - you cannot update like this
An offical ota zip requires a non rooted device, unmodified system partition and stock recovery
you maybe able to download the ota update and save it (its in the cache partition)
then use flashfire app to install it
note if its a custom rom than recovery mode will allow you to flash any zip and will flash anything unless the updater script specifies a certain build.prop target eg phone model or other criteria that would stop it flashing if it was false
If you want to flash firmware you need the firmware image and flash it via fastboot
