Stuck in hboot - HTC One X

Was just in the process of installing CWM after unlocking bootloader via HTCdev.
Had the HOX connected to PC while flashing via fastboot using "fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img"
Got a download fail message on the pc and now the HOX is stuck in HBoot.
It is s-on, hboot 0.95.0000.
Bootloader is unlocked.
Whether connected to pc or USB cable unplugged it is stuck in HBOOT, fastboot USB screen.
Does not respond to any pc commands, vol toggles or power buttons not working.
adb devices command gives me, no devices attached.
How do I sort this out?

U should rename recovery file to "recovery" so u get recovery.img only. Then use "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
Never heard that problem. First thing I can tell now is to unplugg device and try "power&volum-".
Or wait to discharge battery, then charge and start again.
Htc One X Venom ViperX Rom + faux123 s kernel + Rezound Mod

Thanks, file was reneamed before the flash, sorry just posted the instructions from the cwm page.
I get no response from the device or any of the keys, whether plugged in or not. - Stuck at the HBoot screen, "fastboot USB" whether plugged in or not.
I guess I wait untill the battery goes flat. Who's idea was it not to have a removeable battery.
I have not seen this either having rooted three Desire's, three Desire HD's, two Wildfire S' & a couple of Sensations before this. I hope a haven't bricked my new HOX.

Keep your power button pressed at least 10 seconds.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

Pull the wire and hold power for a while, the button lights will flash then it will kill the power, keep hold of power and volume down. Should open hboot down to fastboot plug in usb and try again, adb devices always shows blank for me on hox.
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
If no response try fastboot or adb (can't renember) reboot bootloader
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

If you flashed a good ROM and your stuck in hboot, use fastboot and use the following command 'fastboot oem boot' that will force your phone to boot.

Hboot usually locks if you enter an incorrect fastboot command.
Just keep holding power&vol down and it will reload and you can try again

hi good morning at all

I root and applicate s-off with this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision
but I have Some Problem Because when i have power on the fast-boot ( in the setting>application> fast boot) my desire z don't enter in the recovery, fastboot, bootloader mode with pressure the various button.
but when this "Mode" Fast boot is turn off my mobile phones enter in the recovery, and in the fastboot mode i read the s-off
it possible solution at my problem? thanks at all
you need to turn off fastboot, because its not properly turning off your phone if you use it
thanks
yes but this fast boot if ****ing **** thanks for the reply
That HTC "fast boot" is something that might make some users happy. It certainly "looked cool" on some demo videos where people thought it was really booting that quickly. But of course it wasn't booting at all, just un-suspending from a sleep mode.
If you want to get into the hboot "fastboot" mode or recovery, etc, then you will need to shut down properly, and turn off HTC's suspending stuff, at least temporarily.
No need for the bad language though.
You can enter fastboot by connecting your phone and running
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
And to boot into recovery
Code:
adb reboot recovery

help phone might be bricked

Hi,
I had my phone rooted, and the ClockworkMod recovery. I had the
[ROM]LeeDrOiD One Xtreme V2.1.0 installed and it was working fine. So i backed it up, and tried to install a new rom. I went for this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1550602, the install process was almost done but i was given an error. So i reboot and went it, but the phone back non-functional.
This is written on the screen 'htc confidential 25970 ht23nw108266' and i can't seem to access recovery to restore my backup.
I am new with the whole rooting and flashing business.
Any help would be appreciated
Did u wipe everythin bef flashong new rom
Mod or Die
yes everything was wiped before the flash,
also i can't seem to do anything on the phone, reception does not work, nor does wifi.
You need to flash another Rom.
That one isnt working
I would do that, but i cannot enter the recovery, when i ever i press the power button to get into it, it just loads the phone up. I have tried it about 10 times. What else is there that i can do?
Go to settings > power and uncheck fast boot and power off and try again
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
tried it, still does not work.
I have also tried to reinstall a recovery, which went well. But it does not want to load
from fastboot
type
fatsboot erase cache
fastboot reboot bootloader
try to enter recovery then
sorry but my knowledge on this is extremely basic,
when you say type, how do i do that? because all i can do on the fastboot menu is use the volume keys and the power button
I have also noticed that the phone doesnt seem to charge no more
You need to do some catching up. Install the android sdk, the htc drivers and use ADB from a command.prompt to carry out those commands. See the routing FAQ.

I have rooted it already, do i need to re root?
Do you know how to use adb via cmd?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
No i do not know how to use it, what is adb via cmd
Times like this is where its said you should read learn understand then so it again before you attempt to do this to your phone
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
With that said adb is via command prompt on your pc while your phone plugged it to pc
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
when you say your phone can't enter recovery,
what happens when from power off, you press power + volume down for 10 seconds? it should enter fastboot.
From there, choose recovery. It should then enter recovery.
If recovery reboots, then whats happened is that the cache is corrupt.
You'll need the ADB drivers installed and fastboot installed. Google this (seriously how did you not figure this out when you flashed your Leedroid the first time round) but as you've already done leedroid you should be good to go already.
- fastboot erase cache
then recovery will work, I had the same issue.
oh no, where as before it might of been bricked. It is now officially bricked. Phones does not turn on. I tried to do the above, and the battery was not zero i had about 40% left, but when it powered down i was unable to power it up, no matter what i did
So what possible things can i do to a bricked phone? Needless to say i have a secondary htc one x that is working fine, not sure how that might help, but am desperate at the moment.
Many thanks.

Just send it in to warranty, you may need to pay but at least you can have a working phone again.

Battery too low - Tried everything

It happened to me before, but this time my bootloader is locked and I can't even unlock it.
Recovery is not working too - all I do is leave it charge on bootloader and it auto restarts but seems nothing to happen.
I don't know anymore how to unlock it since it says battery too low.
Tried every method.
Any ideas?

Sounds like you have the wrong boot.img if it's constantly rebooting.
And now you've locked your bootloader, you can't flash the correct one. (why can't you re-unlock it?)
You can flash a RUU to restore back to stock, just get plenty of charge in your phone.
Unplug phone
Enter fast boot (hold power and volume down till your bootloader shows)
Select power down option
Then plug phone into mains (not pc)
Let it charge, then you can flash a RUU
What software version was you running at stock?

When I enter power down it shuts down. When I plug it goes to bootloader and restarts over and over.
RUU will not work since battery is like 6%
Can't unlock since it says "battery too low"

Did you unplug the device first, then select the power down option from within the bootloader menu ?
Only then, can you plug directly into mains (not PC)
It shouldn't start up if you did it this way.

If this fails and you did these steps,
Put your phone into fastboot
Plug phone into pc
It should now say fastboot USB
Double click the fastboot charging script on your pc to execute it
.... Let your phone charge.
Here is the PC charging script

As I said tried that. It gives error due to low battery.
Edit: it gives error cuz bootloader is locked.
Now the script suddenly worked and it shows the voltage is going to increase slowly! I hope it will work.
Now I have recovery! Finally. Thanks to the person who made the script.

Here is the script text ! Copy and paste the script text in a new text document and save it as .bat then you put the phone in fastboot usb mode and run the script ....
had same issue a while ago. HOX is charging for a few seconds until getting into fastboot mode. The script restarts the device times via fastboot commands. Very useful. I had to retype those commands by hand

[BRICK] HTC One X Stuck on recovery

Hello guys,
I just pretty much *****d my new HTC One X forever.
I write this in case superman appears and gives me a hand:
What I did is to flash a recovery image onto the boot memory, this is:
fastboot flash boot recovery.img
I know, stupid mistake that is going to cost me a lot of money
So now, my phone keeps trying to start, but as it has recovery information instead of boot, it keeps showing the error (a black screen with a phone with a red exclamation mark on it) and restarting for the years to come.
I know it may not have a solution, but just in case... I know there are absolute genious round here...
Thanks for your precious work.
Did you tried reflash? Like; "fastboot flash boot boot.img" ?
Otherwise:

Is it not possible to go back to bootloader and flash a proper recovery/boot.img?
No, because bootloader info has been substituted by another info (recovery, in this case), so the phone tries to start in bootloader but all it does is to find the recovery data and executes recovery.
I have no control of the phone so far, not even holding power button for 7 secs...
Oh, and if I try any fastboot commands (as the disaster guide suggests), all I get is <waiting for device>, because the phone is not in fastboot mode and cannot receive any commands from the USB
You should be able to get into fastboot still.
Hold power till it switches off, then hold VOL down and press power.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
If there's no one with another idea, all I can suggest ist to try via Jtag, if that's possible on the HOX.
Why did you fastboot flash boot recovery.img
Should have done fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Try setting up adb
adb reboot-bootloader see if it reboots to bootloader.

WoW guys! I just managed to get into bootloader again! Just pressing Volume down + Power many times, some of which has worked! (Excited )
Now I flashed the correct images onto the correct places and seems to be working fine.
I apologize for the time i made you lose and thank you guys for the quick response.
Good to see you did it. Next time be more careful.:good:

One X stuck in RUU-mode I think - blackscreen

Hey, got a big probleme here:
while I tried to update my hboot from 1.36 to 1.39 the phone now stays at a black screen. It happened after it tried to go into RUU-mode. No silver HTC Logo will come up and when I unplug the USB cable and plug it again I can hear the Windows 7 sound for a new device.
What can I do now? Can't get into the bootloader with the normal "power + vol down" or anything else. I think I got enough battery because I've used the wall-charger for about an hour or more. Then suddenly the display won't turn on again while on my ROM. So I tried to reflash the boot.img and the ROM again but nothing seemed to help to get the phone booting into Android again.
I decided to try an hboot update with re- / and -unlocking to see if it helps. After re-locking and trying to get into RUU-mode I got the disaster I'm talking about.
Really appreciating your help here.
regards
While plugged in you can try both commands

Adb devices
If you see your device in either you can use the respective commands to reboot the bootloader

Thank you for your support, but Win 7 only shows the device as "unknown" in the USB devices and I can't see it in the list after executing both commands.
I thought I could try to let the battery die ?
By keeping the power button held for up to 20 seconds a battery pull is simulated. If this does nothing then something is seriously messed up with the bootloader as that is where the simulation for holding power is.
If you cannot get it to reboot this way then there is likely nothing you can do to resurrect your device.
Though it is weird that it is still been detected as a USB device
