There are no information online regarding this tablet and it is hard to know anything further about it. Technical support sucks, so I thought of sharing my experience here maybe will help others.
This tablet is an LY-F1 clone, and I was able to install custom recovery, as well as a CM9 based ROM on it, now this tablet is running very well for its value.
If you need further assistance I will be happy to help.
Li ink to the ROM HERE.
Thanks for the info. I have been thinking about getting something like that. This post got me more interested:

I've been trying to figure out if there's a way to make calls with one......Google Voice should work is the tablet has a mic.
Some say they support GSM and I'm on ATT. That's what I need to know about before I get a tablet.
It would seem impossible if there is no way to insert a SIM card in the tablet.....but I can still hope.

I tried the CM10 ROM both previes 2 and 3, none of them worked on my tablet, this is why I don't mention it.
As for making phone calls using such a device, don't think it is a very good idea, the mic they have it on these devices must be of a much lower quality than the ones used on dedicated devices such as cell phones. I tied Skype and Google talk though and they were OK.
I just purchased mine today and would love some assistance because tablet needs a new Rom bad. Which custom recovery are you using? I tried using the original recovery and it just sits at the android with his chest open. Please lead me to the promise land.

First you need to flash CWM recovery from here https://www.dropbox.com/s/lp4ev9cnp7joq3y/CWM Recovery 5 ICS.zip, follow this instructions.
Then go to this thread and install CM9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1760929
Thanks a lot. Got it going. If I have any questions I'll give you a shout.

Okay I went with the aokp Rom once I tried the cm9 Rom. Cm9 was freezing a lot. I tried aokp and used go launcher with it and this thing runs buttery smooth. I'm buying another one.

This is the same tablet I have, which is a clone of THE LY-F1 use the link in my post above to flash the firmware and see if the WIFI works, if it did try using the compatibility zip posted in the third party link from Christian Troy.
I am now using the AOKP port by Christian Troy, which is giving me a couple of things over CM9, first it is giving me a bit more free ram, which is very much needed for this tablet, second it a tone of tweaks that we can play with.

I've tried a couple different versions of AOKP, and the Original LY-F1 firmware you posted (which was in Chinese/Japanese, that was a good time! haha), wifi didn't work on any of them.
thx

I've been downloading and reencoding a lot of HD movies lately since I just purchased an AppleTV, and I got to thinking. There are USB H.264 hardware encoders that speed up the process of encoding movies, and all they really do is add to the processing power to speed up the encoding process. Is there some way we could use the processor in our phone to do the same thing?
Here is a link to one of these USB Encoders at Amazon:

I'm no developer, but it would be awesome if someone could figure this out!

I would think that even if this was possible the simple fact that you would be using a USB cord to attach the phone to the computer would negate any help that the phone would give you. it's like using a flash stick with windows 7 for readyboost, sure it will give you more memory but it's 100 fold slower than ram and is more like the page file on your computer.
if you have an insane amount of ram in your computer, I would actually suggest turning your paging file off, and that should speed things up a bit as it won't be loading your process' and information into a pagefile, instead it will be using strictly the awesomesauce of your ram's ability to communicate with the CPU alot faster than a page file can. And don't worry if your computer runs out of ram on Ubuntu or Windows 7 it will automatically add a page file back so that the computer doesn't freeze. I'm using windows 7 Premium and convert files alot with no paging file with only 4gigs of ddr3 with a athlon ll x2 p340 cpu and it's quicker than with, also makes games and programs alot snappier to
I can't imagine that these USB encoder keys that I linked to above are useless, so USB is probably not the bottleneck you assume it is.
Also, I'm running Snow Leopard on a MBP, using 64bit Handbrake with 4gb of RAM. Running OS X without a paging file is a terrible idea, so that won't help. It's not that my computer is encoding movies slowly, it's that if I could be doing it faster with a little help from my Epic so I have 3 cores crunching data, why not?

I think thanks Surdu_Petru it will be rooted soon, too.
Has anyone installed this already?
Does it kill your tablet?
no on 3 tablets
I just installed this coming from 4.0.7 and it has worked fine.
I tried to use the built in updater but it did not show the update, so I downloaded the file and flashed.
Nothing major so far.. early days but my device is NOT bootlooping
TrOjAn
For those who updated, do you see the excessive RAM usage as reported by 4.0.24 users?
please, honestly. is there some improvement on the touchscreen dead after long standby and of touchscreen in general? thank you

How much free memory would you call OK ??
I've got a 1GB device and in 4.0.7 had >500MB free after boot, but with 4.0.24 it's only about 300MB. I've heard of people with 512MB devices who only have 35MB left after a fresh start.
From what I read, Android 4.0.4 should be using more memory than 4.0.3 ... but it seems a lot, 200MB more RAM usage.
Hi, I installed no problem.
by cons, regarding memory management there is a concern as for 4.0.24.
in the aplication menu program displays the current 0.00 using memory, I think again is good to have a return on 4.0.7, if not find a system to manage memory better knowing that v6 Supercharger is lag in games. Here is my return
Memory left from my 1gb = 300mb so yes, there appears to be a memory problem in latest build.
TrOjAn
Definitely using more memory now but it seems like it's put to good use, the tablet is wicked fast now! After the initial boot it took some time to find its feet which was most noticeable switching between home and panel screens but now it's been on a while and I've started most of my regular apps the difference is quite apparent. Starting up and switching apps has had a major makeover and is stunningly fast. As specified Wifi is now also connecting consistently now, tho it too early to say anything definitively. As of now, it seems absolutely worthwhile to upgrade.
oh my !
Have anyone who has had a replacement updated yet ...and if so ......how was it ??:good:
The sound volume is still useless would have been worth the upgrade to fix that!!!
TrOjAn
I switched from Clean_Slim&Fast_V01 to that version to see if the touchscreen issues are solved.
Had some problems with the aos-file, so in the end I had to format the disk - but it might be I just didn't get how to do it properly.
After installing everything seems okay. Touchscreen isn't that sensitive anymore (which is GOOD) but I'll wait some days of testing before being too cheerful.
If I press a little bit harder on the touchscreen, still there are those ghost fingers. But if I don't touch too hard, everything is fine (and better than before).
More results after a weekend of testing...
Just updated, everything seems to be a lot faster ......but best of all it works:good:

Noticed other thing, the native media players (video and music) are not working properly (at least in mine).

had the 4.0.7 rooted by surdu petru ->ok
tried the 4.0.24 -> "bricked" my tablet -> tapping for 5s on the touch made the device to boot
formatted all by recovery menue (not easy to get in)
recovered 4.0.7 stock -> ok -> SDE still working !
installed slim clean and fast by surdu petru -> ok
installed 4.0.25 rooted by surdru petru -> ok
waiting for OC kernel
Hey everybody.
New at the forum, but i want to say that, untill now (6 hours in testing) i find the new 4.0.25 update quite solid. Had have touchscreenn probs, which were the most annoying among bugs from this tablet that i have experienced with former official releases, but have to say that for instance fake touche and phantom touch problems seems to be out of the way. This text for instance is smoothly typed in, and for testing, the registration on xda and using the app for android proves to be example of smooth inputting via the onscreen keyboard. Untill now i've experienced alot of trouble with entering text, auto-hitting backspace and enter key at random. Now it seems stable without calibrations for 6 hours. Keeping u posted

Hi XDA!
I'm thinking of buying myself a Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Wi-Fi only), and I wanted to ask you if it will be enough to cover my needs. The thing is, I don't know how the Intel Atom performs, and I thought that maybe the tablet would be laggy, so if you have some real-world experience with it, could you please help me?
Mostly, what I will do with it is:
- Viewing PDFs
- Viewing and editing office douments
- Video playback (maybe using an HDMI adapter on the micro-USB port, I think this tablet supports MHL)
- Lightweight Android games (Cut the rope, Where's my water, and the like, not Shadowgun nor heavy games)
Since the ROM scene for this tablet is pretty scarce, I thought of only rooting and removing bloatware. Maybe using Xposed? Opinions on that?
Thank you!
I got the tablet for very much the same reasons you mentioned. It works great for those needs. I had put MS Office on my S4 and thought it would work on the tablet, it does not. However, I use quick office on the tablet and then just verify formatting on my laptop later.
It will do all those things you mentioned out of the box. If you are looking to debloat and get flash support then I suggest checking out the Pimpdroid rom in the 10.1 development forum. It is easy to flash. Also has Xposed pre installed.
I have not used an adapter to do video playback but have synced it with Samsung link for video playback and surround sound music with my other samsung devices. It works well.
I would say get it. If you want to check out Pimpdroid do it.

i got the android version of open office on my tab... it works great
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EO9r9R1FGg
Got myself a 'made in China' pocket projector.
It only has the size of a phone and has a 5000mah battery so it's easy to enjoy a big screen everywhere.
(A full battery gives about 2 hours and 15 minutes of projection time at full brightness and the projector easily goes over 100 inch in projection size)
It has Wifi & Bluetooth, 2 usb connections, an infra red receiver, a hdmi out, earphone/line-out and runs on Android 4.4.4.
The usb makes it easy to connect harddisk, memory stick,.. but also things like keyboard & mouse. (you can also use it as a powerbank to charge your phone.-
The built in speaker has 1 Watt and sounds quite loud for this little device but it has no bass so you can connect it also to a soundsystem with the line out (or wireless with bluetooth) for better sound experience
It has a native 854 by 480 resolution, which is not HD but as you see in the youtube video it is a very clear and sharp image.
The built-in media player supports about every music, video and picture format (if it is supported by an app in android)
It is advertised on various websites going from 120 Ansi Lumen up to 1000 lumens but the actual lumens are 100.
For such a small projector this is more then enough. It is visible inside during daytime (not outside in direct sunlight) but it is at it's best in low light/dark room situation.
The Playstore is fully working so almost every app can be installed. Apps that mirror your phone/laptop screen let you enjoy everything wireless with wifi on a big screen
The launcher provided is nice but provides no settings which is a shame because if i delete an app from the homescreen the picture shortcut will stay and i can't replace it with something else. (I however always can install another launcher from the playstore)
It also has no pulldown menu for notifications/quicksettings, so if i get a notification, i can hear it but i cannot open the pulldown screen
The quadcore Arm Cortex a7 with RK3128 chip makes the Android in this projector react very smooth & fast.
It has 1 gigabyte ram & 16 Gigabyte internal memory. 1 gigabyte is not that much because most apps will only install in this memory and you start with only about 500 megabyte of free storage place.
The only minus is the Hdmi connection slot.. It doesn't support Hdmi IN, only hdmi out, that means you can not connect a game console to it for playing games. The Chinese sellers didn't mention it was only hdmi out.. (who wants a hdmi out to a smaller tv screen that shuts down the projection screen once connected lol)
Hello Man,
I thinking about other using of this, so i would like install to device IFTTT (if this then that) app. It's can be working? I would like to using this device for wakeup alarm video (ie. a short movie from internal memory).
thanks.

Bricked mine - help
I saw there was an update available and downloaded it. Got an error on install and now it's stuck on the recovery system screen. None of the options get it out of the loop. Know anyplace where there's a factory image?

Fixed!
Got hold of the vendor thru Amazon. Downloaded the image file and installer program (713mb). Went smoothly thru a male to male USB cable. Now have the latest upgrade. htc_d002_box_en_noota_20160317-3.img
Where you find this vendor? My projector after update not working and now in recovery mode too
Vendor
The vendor was hard to contact directly. Amazon intercepts communications and edits out email addresses, even when you try to disguise them.
Eventually, they did get an email to me directly and included the installer zip file and the instruction doc file. And a link to mailQQ.com where they had put the .img file.
The return email address I got was [email protected]

Thank you very much for helping, now I repairing my projector and everything is working
Hello, can you tell me if it has keystone correction?
Thanks
No, it doesn't. Only focus.
ASK
Hi,
Is it possibile to switch off the LED (and fan) from API or other way? (like standby mode in a smartphone. Processes are running, ie. alarm clock,etc.). Thx.
I don't know. I'm not a programmer.
Is this a clone of the EcSee M6 projector?
If so, is there a difference?
Can you say something to the fan noise?
It DOES say M6 on the box it came in and the logo M6 is shown on the illustration in the instruction booklet but not on the projector. That's all I know about it.
The fan noise is audible but not bad enough to distract from the audio. The fan slows down and is quieter when not using the charger.
Thank you for the fast answer.
So I am looking forward to get it soon, it's on it's way from gearbest.
Does it have OTA update function?
Please note my previous post about updates. This projector's android version still includes setup apps that may try to use a cell phone chip that's NOT in the unit as it seems to have been developed using a HTC image. I STRONGLY discourage anyone from using the OTA update function of this unit.
Received it and it works perfect.
I would like to mod the fan as its a little to loud.
There are quieter fans on the market.
Has anyone tried to open the projector?

The feeling is mutual, i've received the projector yesterday and i was very excited to replace the TV with this huge screen, but the noise of the fan is still echoing in my head. Just spoke to an expert that told me to try to put some grease/vaseline (industrial) or to replace the fan with a best one. He has no problem to make that operation but my question is is there a quieter fan ?
Would anyone be able to upload the firmware? I have contacted the manufactures but haven't heard back yet... probably due to Chinese holiday. Mine was June 2016, but I think an older kernel would work.
I need the firmware too because i have the chinese firmware (no play store) and i would change to english firmware with kodi and play store.
Thanks.
I have the same device - but i stock on recovery. i need rom for that device. someone know from where?

Chromecast built-in app isn't pre-installed by default, Netflix is only works on mobile version and a TV version isn't working.

Edit: Doenst work with "nomodeset" aswell , Read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA , unsupported PM cap regs version (7)
Edit2: I installed it and in debug mode im geting something like this: "*ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun"
The USB works just fine on my main computer it just doesnt work on this old laptop , had a version of android tv 7 before and it worked just fine on it from the USB, the install option starts but i want to run it live.

Agreed. Might even be a good idea to dump the project on github.
Thanks, I have an old Intel NUC DCCP847DYE I will test this on and let you know...
Does this support the MCE Remote?
Edit: I tried different bios settings with the following on/off: UEIF, Legacy, Secure Boot and no luck, not able to boot from SSD after installation.

Try to see if the bios has any way to set HDD mode to AHCI
Just tried this on a Chromebox CN60 (Celeron 2955U) and it boots and works quite 'ok'.
Things that don't work, that make it unusable for me:
Nothing related to video playback works, tried PLEX and YouTube
Wi-Fi networks get detected but joining them doesn't work
Bluetooth doesn't seem to work, my BT remote gets detected by my Phone and MacBook Pro but it doesn't get detected by the chromebox
Seems promising, if this issues gets addressed, I'll use it for sure, I just care about PLEX streaming
Thanks for your work!
