[Q] Bluetooth Earphone For Music - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I found something on ebay, but i dont know if it's compatible with my Xperia Play.
Here is the link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-S9-HD-High-Definition-Sport-Wireless-Stereo-Bluetooth-Headset-Headphone-/251126714098?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a78518ef2#ht_3634wt_1397
if it's not, can someone recommend me on a bluetooth earphone for music ?

You DOUBLE POSTED this topic!!!!

And to answer your million dollar question, you're better off with Sony Ericsson MW600 or a Sony Smart Headset Pro.

I still preffer something like that
if there is one.
can some one just tell me if this is compatible ?

Well, buying noname headphones will prob. not be compatible...

Try these:

Best bluetooth headphones I've ever had, and they're super cheap online. Yes, they work completely with Xperia PLAY as long as your ROM isn't super buggy or something crazy.

i need earphones for gym and running, not for, sitting and listen to music

You CAN use the MotoRokr S305 for running and workout. I used them mostly on the go on my bike.

Try these. I just got mine and they are great since you can use ANY standard headphones if you don't like the ones it comes with, and some people say there is about a 100 foot distance before you lose signal plus you can make calls and listen to music and they will instantly switch between call mode and music mode with no interaction whatsoever. The headphones they come with are ok but I prefer to use my ableplanet headset since I only listen to music.

Now tell me, how did that contribute to the discussion?
Anyway, on the topic of them working or not, they might, but no guarantees. I've got a Bluetooth headset that works with music, but I know not all of them do work. So you can try it if you want, but I'd buy official sony ones.

Headphones

Hello!
Thread especially made for headphone segment of the Xperia X8.
Also if you need help with picking a headphones for your phone post here,
i'll help if i can.
P.S.Sennheiser CX500 G4ME arriving in 2weeks so i'll pop a review and comparison beetwen the stock one and these.
I just got my X8 today and tried using it with my aftermarket iPhone ones and found they didn't work at all.
It works with the included headphones of course, but they're not very good (they don't even hold in my ears very well, which is a worry when I'm hoping to use them while running or cycling) and it works with ordinary (no microphone) 3.5mm headphones.
The plug of the iPhone headphones looks similar to the one of the Sony headphones but for some reason the X8 completely ignores them, it doesn't even send sound to the earphones let alone take microphone input.
Meanwhile, the Sony ones work on my iPod but they're extremely quiet.
Can someone confirm that this is in fact true generally, not just for my (two pairs of) iPhone headphones which I tried?
Is there any way I can get iPhone headphones to work with it (desirable because these earphones are easy to find and buy, relatively cheap and with wide choice) or do I have to stick with special Sony ones?
A major reason behind me getting my new phone was that I was sick of the crap Nokia pulled with my old phone requiring proprietary headphones with their connector. It's nice that the X8 works with standard non-microphone 3.5mm earphones, but what's the deal with microphone ones?
I use this nokia headphones for my xperia. Mic works as well as call button. All other nokia headphones with volume control won't work!
Xperia has unique jack for headphones with music controls...and I hate them for that! Original ones for music player are too expensive
I use the same ones as they're great for skype!
I1m using sennheiser HD 518 and they are great !!
Stock X8 headphones are sh%t.
Previously, I had a SE W810i Walkman and I must say, that hearing to the music (with stock headphones) was a real pleasure - very close to iPhone IMO.
So, when I bought X8, I was truly unsatisfied.
Then I decided to buy OEM SE MH810 stereo - AFAIK it comes with Xperia X10 mini Pro. That was a good choice - quite goood sound quality and I can control music player app (volume up/down, next/previous, play/pause).
I bought the mh810 and i use them while cycling.
The headphones are excellent. Its a shame they don't work on the big x10
I got mine for £12 off ebay
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
Has anyone tried something like this - bluetooth stereo headphones?
i used to use blue-tooth stereo headphones on my mobile previously but a different model from those. i found there was quite high battery drain, but that might have been just my phone..

Confirmed. SE stock does not work with IPods, well you could make it work by pulling the connector out a little. It's due to the speaker part of the connector is differently recognized by SE and Apple. My apple headphones broke down a long time ago so can't test.
OEM SE headphones that come out of the box with W810i work pretty well, but the wire is short.

In my ears it is. It took me a while to decide on what ones to get. These can last around 14hrs or so on a charge and charge by micro usb.
I sometimes use the samsung headphones that came with the gs2 if i don't want the bt module on my shirt. I put it to my pocket. Kinda pointless to some but I keep my phone cordless like this.
I an charge it on a table or something while still using the bt function. And the stock ear buds for the gs2 have a mic and I think the mic is used during a call. Cause people say they can hear me fine when the module is in my pocket or far away from my mouth.
I am using a Plantronics Backbeat. The one I bought came with a dongle that plugs into a non-bluetooth device. So I use the headset with my phone, via bluetooth. And also can hook up to my TV using the dongle. Under $100.
Picked it up last year at Fry's.

I use a Motorola S305 set. They are cheap in price (under $40 at Amazon) but sound pretty decent. Owned them for almost a year with no problems.
i got a huge list
however of the ones that performed the best
Motorola HT820 the best sound and beat, full feature, easy to use, extra long battery life
as of today i've not found anything that can compare, i've pretty much purchased every sony, jabra, motorola, platonic, all other names i forgot, etc, etc
all the rest were like meh.. 3rd place or worse rating
platonics are the worse
in 2nd place best i'll name Jabra BT8010 super convenient, it kinda sucks in the sound quality for audiophile but gets the job done if you want elegance
What about the LG HBS700: http://www.amazon.com/LG-HBS-700-Wi..._1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1319749852&sr=1-1 inexpensive, comfortable. great sounding.
the wires kinda defeats the purpose
that's something i didn't quite like about the Jabra BT8010
i'm looking forward to try out the new Motorola MOTOACTV https://motoactv.com/ which also have bluetooth stereo addon MOTOROLA SF700

Best bluetooth headset with in-ear headphones

I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Jeally Bean stock.
I love to listen to podcasts (BeyondPod Pro) and speak on voip applications like Skype, Viber and CSipSimple (a sip client).
Since I really hate wired earphones I would like to buy a wireless bluetooth headsets with in-ear buds. Some examples of these kind of products are:
- Sony Ericsson MW600
- Nokia BH-111
- Samsung HS3000 (no media player keys)
- Jabra Clipper (no media player keys)
These headsets have around the same price where I live (Northern Europe), but for example the last two lack media player buttons so I was more focused on buy the first one, the Sony Ericsson MW600.
My first concern is if all the buttons are going to work with the applications I use, as well as the incorporated microphone in voip applications.
As I already wrote before I use BeyondPod Pro to listen to podcasts and for me the volume buttons and the play/pause buttons would be vital.
At the same time I heard that voip applications like Skype don't recognize the microphone built on the headset. This would be really a problem since I should use the phone to call making the whole headset useless. I also use Viber (another voip application similar to Skype) and CSipSimple. In this case the volume button and the answer/terminate call button should be essential.
Other applications I use are MXPlayer Pro and YouTube for watching videos and Google music to listen to music.
What I want to ask is to know if someone has already these kinds of headsets and can confirm if these buttons and the microphone are all recognized, or if you know other devices which work for sure.
Thanks in advance!
See my response in the other forum.

I can confirm that the call button works and the mic works fine as well. Running CNA and can even display music titles, but not caller ID however doesn't work, only shows phone numbers
The Sony mw600 hands down. Great distance, great sound quality, great microphone and it rarely skips. Trust me on the distance. Works above and beyond any Bluetooth headset I've owned before. And you can buy your own earphones. The ones that come with it suck.

The ones it come they could suck but they are good because they have a very short wire, which is good since the headset has to be near the mouth. Could you confirm that the applications I need work with this headset?

The sound quality is rubbish compared to a Nokia headset (BH-500 or BH-214) but you need to try them to hear how bad the MW600 is, if the MW600 is the only one you ever heard you may not think its bad but belive me, it is, and the design is horrendous, the volume slider is touch sensitive and you cannot do anything like skip track or pause etc without touching it.
And the worst part is when you actually want to turn the volume up or down it doesn't respond. :banghead:
Sony got so many complaints about it they had to make a youtube video explaining how to use it!
Its amazing how many people give it a good review but when you actually find reviews from people that have owned it for more than a day like Amazon user reviews etc you get a better idea of how it is.
I bought it because of the great reviews people were giving it and i was hugely disappointed when i borrowed my friends Nokia to compare and was blown away by the difference in loudness, clarity and quality and its ease of use.
I always bought Sony in the past because i associate it with quality but something went terribly wrong with this.
I have a feeling the screen is to blame and is taking power from the amplifier.
Which ever you choose though, get some decent earphones although the ones that come with the Nokia 214 are pretty good for bundled earphones.

Small Bluetooth Headset...for music?

Ok to start I hate the way Bluetooth headsets look sticking out of the side of someone's ear especially those with the damn blinking light on it. What makes it worse is when people walk around seemingly talking to themselves for all the world to hear. With that said, I don't want a headset for phone calls. I want one for music.
I'd prefer not a standard headphones unit with 2 ear buds, I only want one ear so that I can still perfectly hear what's going around me.
Do normal headsets that are designed for taking calls with work for playing music as well? I'm not terribly concerned with sound quality, I just want something discrete and functional. Does anyone have any suggestions? They would be most helpful as I'm a bit lost on this one. Thanks!

If it was easy you'd of hired the guy at Home Depot to to it.

I was looking for something similar about two months ago, and then I came across the Motorola Elite Sliver through a deal site for $50.
I use my all day while I'm at work or at client's sites. I can listen to iHeartRadio or music on my Nexus in one ear, and still listen to everything else using my other ear. A single charge will last you 4-5 hours, but it requires the case to charge. But the cool thing is the case has a battery which charges while it's plugged in, so if you're on the go and need to charge your Elite Sliver, just pop it into the case and it will charge - no need to plug it into an outlet.
Really happy with it and it lets me listen to the radio or music while still keeping an ear open for the world around me

Yep, I have the LG Tone+ bluetooth earbuds and they work very well.
I assume you're enquiring about the play/pause/forward/back buttons on the headphones and whether they work with the Play Music program? If so, then yes, they work flawlessly for me at least.

I bought them in the apple store $129.00
Not earbuds, but have been using the Sony DR-BTN200 bluetooth on ear headphones and they work great! It is NFC compatible as well, so it complements marvelously with my Nexus 5.
not earbuds but I use this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Avantree-Saturn-Bluetooth-Transmitter-corporated/dp/B0085HOM4K
With my very old but awesome sounding denon 751's. It makes any ear/headphones bt compatible and in my experience it works great at close range either in the car or while commuting. Battery lasts me about 5 to 6 hours use over 4 days.
Sound quality has not been hit at all my denons sound the same as when plugged in directly to the nexus 5.
Yup I've used both GoGroove BlueVibe EBX and Klipsch Image ONE Bluetooth headphones.

What do you think of the Yurbuds wireless?
Im looking for some bluetooth buds. I have a pair of the wired pro ones and like them for running, but they dont have the best music quality though.

i really like them for working out or running. they stay in place. the only con i have about them is that if you wear them with the cord behind your neck sometimes they can get caught when turning your head certain ways. to avoid that now i just wear them with the cord to the front. doesnt look as cool lol but cant feel anything but the buds in your ears. the sound quality is decent. one big thing i loved about these tho is that when you're wearing them it doesnt feel like you're covering your ears with your hands and can hear everything like footsteps or anything rubbing up against you. i originaly bought some jaybirds and they did exactly that, it was just too annoying for the price i had paid. i could hear my footsteps in my head and the cord rubbing up against my neck, you had to put the music too loud to try and cover the noises but you could always hear it
Great, thanks for all the replies guys.
I got myself a Plantronics BackBeat GO 2 Bluetooth Earbuds and they worked amaizingly with all the buttoms features it has, they are like 8 diferent combos for calls and etc.
I would really recommend this if anyone is looking for great bluetooth earbuds. :highfive:
I'm using the Outdoor Technology Bluetooth Tags with Play Music.
Jaybird Freedom JF3
they work perfectly... even though they're a bit older now and kind of bulky
