So has anyone found a car kit/mount (with charger) that works on SGS3 with the official flip case? I used to have Brodit for DHD and One X but it works only with a naked phone.
Damn, I have to drop my case, and it was so nice :crying:
I see, can I ask then, is there another case (external full cover) with which a car holder/charger will work ok? Please recommend both case and charger if you are satisfied and they are reliable + high quality.
I had the Note before the S3.
I use the Samsung Note car dock and use a rubber band to hold it on one side.
When it connects the screen changes to landscape and the flip cover has plenty of room

Hi I just got my Evo 4G and I am looking for the best accessories that work well with each other. I am looking for the following:
Screen Protector: cant distort colors and it shouldn't make my swipes and stuff terrible and it must protect against minor scratches. Note that i care about the screen protector but I don't want the glass exposed.
Case: Looking for a hard case that doesn't add much bulk and provides protection against everyday scuffs and minor drops.
Car Dock: Looking for a car dock that will hold my Evo while in a Hard case and still be usable. I would like it to recharge the evo as well. Most car docks don't work in my car due to the dashboard shape [see attached picture] so I am interested in vent options and not window adhesives (i cant bear my baby being suspended midair lol)
Better USB Charger: I want one that charge faster (wall charger) and have longer cords and maybe a few more cords.that i can keep one at work and one at home and in the car.
Any ideas?
Here's a good place for cables: http://www.amazon.com/BlackBerry-Cable-Micro-1-0m-Black/dp/B001QATRCA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1288623582&sr=8-1
as for charging, you're not going to find anything better then the stock A/C adapter.
screen protectors, i don't use them and my screen is doing just fine.
car docks: i keep my phone in it's holster cause i drive while in the car. just sayin'
good luck mate! i hope you find everything you're looking for
Well I am really looking for a screen protector ( i cant stand grease on my screen lol) and a car dock for GPS/Navigation purposes. But thank you for your response. I am checking out the amazon link now.

I use cheap screen protectors. I can get the vinyl ones on discount and choose not to because I don't like the way they feel. The cheap ones that use static cling to stick to my screen work great and don't get scratched through. I have scratches on the protector, but not the screen. Make sure they have a cutout for the camera if you don't use the ones that are linked.
My otterbox commuter isn't too bulky, but if you want minor bulk go with the new Incipio case. I think it just started shipping.
Go with the Kensington Iphone mount. It comes with a dash mount and a windshield mount. It works with the Evo in an otterbox, so it will def work with any hard case you may get that is smaller. I got this based on feedback from a member here and they couldn't have been more correct. It will not charge the phone, but if you are using the vent mount get you a cheap car charger.
USB Cords are all the same charge wise, it is a limitation of the USB port, not the cable. but if you want a long one go here.
you asked for the best...i don't have the best, but it works pretty well...
i have the seidio rugged case, i got it from amazon for $40 for the hard case, rubber case to go over that, holster and the screen protector.
seidio's screen protector is pretty good in my opinion. i'm not "screen protector connoisseur" by any means but it seems to hold up well while having a very glassy feel. as long as my hands arent covered in some sort of cooking or forehead grease, it stays relatively clean. I'm happy with the screen protector.
the seidio hard is ok. i like it overall but mine has developed a crack ( i have dropped it a couple times) and i will be seeing if i can get some sort of replacement. overall, it didn't add to much bulk and i liked the feel. i also liked how it goes on the phone and feel it provides good protection. i use this case by it self most of the time. i use the rugged part of it when i go off-road or working outside...really anytime that being in my pocket wouldnt be a good idea.
i use the nuvi 205 car mount for my evo. just takes a couple of minutes over a stove with a pair of pliers to form it to fit the evo with case. i fitted to my rugged case and when i use just the hard case, i use a piece a memory foam to hold it in place. it works really well and i use it while i go off-road. if it getting really bumpy, it falls out eventually but while on road it holds very nicely using either case.
i got the vent one so that it could have moving air going over the phone cause i did notice if i had my 1A car charger going and running satnav and other track recording apps plus music it got pretty warm (+the Arizona sun) and would stop charging.
like i said, not the best but thought it might be worth telling my experience.
cheers

And not just for phone / IT equipment - car stereo, home theatre, everything. They've got an amazing combination of price and quality.

USB cable there (monoprice) was for $2.81, where i got my cable on ebay for $1.85.
What I have bought on ebay for my evo:
Extended battery 3500mAh for $9.99
Desktop slim cradle for $12.26
Amazon
Seidio spring holster $22
Ebay and Amazon should be on your list to find accessories.
Here's what I use:
Seidio Innocase™ II Surface Combo: The Innocase II Surface fits the Evo like a coat of paint and adds almost no bulk. People are frequently surprised to learn that I even have a case on my phone. Despite that, it protects the phone remarkably well. I work in the industrial maintenance trades and I'm not easy on my phones, but my Hero looked like new after a year in an Innocase Surface (after I removed the case) so I'm using the same thing on my Evo.
Seidio Ultimate Screen Guard - Crystal Clear: I actually use the Boxwave ClearTouch™ Anti-Glare screen protector on my phone but a lot of people don't like the matte finish and the Seidio Ultimate is a great choice if you like a crystal clear protector. Either one is durable and easy to apply, and I didn't detect any reduction in touch sensitivity for either one.
Seidio Desktop Charging Cradle: The perfect desktop cradle as far as I'm concerned. Use it with the wall wart which came with your Evo and it will charge at the maximum rate that the Evo will allow. Use it connected to a USB port on your computer and it will sync, but it will only charge at a reduced rate because a USB port can't deliver the power that a wall wart can. I keep my dock connected to the wall wart and use another cable (which I bought from monoprice.com) when I want to sync.
It may sound like I'm a Seidio dealer, but I'm not. They just make top quality stuff and I'm the kind of guy who appreciates that and sticks with what works. If you'd like some further reading which includes some before & after photos of my Hero and the Seidio Innocase II I used on it, you can visit the thread in Android Forums by CLICKING HERE. If you want to cut right to the chase you can read the first and last post in that thread, but there's some good stuff in between too.

I'm looking for a case that will support the tab (folio style or the like) yet have the cut out or designed in a way to have access to the headphone jack and dock port.
I would really like to load movies onto a SD card and watch them via the USB host adapter. However, I will be doing this mostly in places that will need headphones. Also will need a case that supports the tab so I don't have to hold it. (Thanks Samsung, for this little inconvenience)
Anyone see anything that will make this possible?
I would like this as well. Most cases give headphone access but that port connector location kinda sucks. We almost need a case with a build in port connector that has a wire oud the side....perhaps detachable.
Ya.. I've been looking at cases for an hour and now resorted to looking on ebay.
That dock connector is seriously in a bad spot.
I could really care less about the case, but I care greatly about not having to hold the darn thing up with my hand while I'm using it. This includes while watching movies or showing someone pictures I just took.
Trying to add a support solution without adding the case would be an option...
I have the ACase Folio, which I am very happy with. When I want to use the Tab with something plugged into the dock connector, I fold the ACase cover all the way back and stand the Tab on the Rabbit Portable Stand and Holder, $10 on ebay, shipped, at http://cgi.ebay.com/Rabbit-Portable-Stand-and-Holder-iPad-Galaxy-Tablet-PC-/220772954466
The stand is just wide enough to accomodate the USB adapter (as well as the USB cable). Works great for me.
Thanks, I've seen the rabbit stand and it's the best stand of that type IMO. However it's just one more thing to carry. Add that to a bumpy plane ride and I'm still looking for a case that does it.
I just got the Belkin slim from Best Buyer, and it's going back.

The Rabbit Stand comes in two pieces, that you interlock to use (see first picture attached). When not using, one of the pieces fits flat into the other, and the two pieces fit flat into a seal-able baggie that comes with the stand (see second picture). Would take up minimal space in your carry on for traveling.
For bumpy plane rides, you could use velcro to attach the stand to the Tab or a Tab case.
(I have no connection to the Rabbit Stand or the ebay seller. It just happens to be the only good solution I have found to using the Tab in landscape mode with the USB adapter plugged in, and a good one at that.)
Oh yea baby ill give you full access. That what she said she really did.

Hey guys, I HIGHLY recommend this one from Amazon:
rooCASE Multi-Angle (Black) Leather Folio Case Cover for Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi
I cant link to it yet, since this is my first post!!
I got it from Amazon last week after using the Belkin one for a few days. It's $43. but it's really worth the investment!!
The pouch is detachable from the Case itself so that it can stand portrait position AND landscape position. It attaches to the case by two large Velcro circles.
You can flip it around so that the charger faces out and the case closes while charging. Or you can leave it with the port on the bottom and move the Tab up (in landscape position) and the cord runs along the inside spine of the case while it charges.
Check out the specs and more details at Amazon.com
Executive Portfolio Leather Cover for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7510
Built-In Stand for Comfortable Viewing at 45 Degree Angle. Detachable Inner Sleeve for Handheld Operation;
Business and ID Slots with Accessory Flap. Elastic Loop for Pen or Stylus. Dual Zipper for Easy Access.
Access to All Ports and Controls.
A MUST Have for all GALAXY Tab 10.1 Owners!! Available in Black, Magenta and Red. Search: rooCASE Galaxy Tab 10.1 Executive Portfolio
Reattaches by Velcro for Landscape / Portrait Viewing. (Galaxy Tab NOT Included)
(NOT Compatible with Galaxy Tab 7, 8.9 and 10.1v P7100 European Edition)
If you are concerned about thinness and slimness, this isnt for you. This REALLY makes you look like an Executive!!
I saw this. It's just too thick for my liking.
I could have dealt with it, but the fact that you're always going to have a keyboard sized front cover in front of the TAB was a deal killer.
At first, I thought about that, but then I quickly realized that I wasn't. I guess the Tab distracted me too much I can't ignore the extra protection & stability it provides though. My stylus doesn't roll too far either and is easy to find on my desk which is also black (and the lights are dimmed for a little "Table-
Hopefully someone will develop one for those users who prefer a slimmer form factor which has the functionality & accessibility of this one. The port cant be moved so they should definitely take a closer look when designing them. If they put it on the other side, then it would be waaayy to similar to that "other" device, which shall remain nameless.
J
RooCase is AWESOME from Amazon! so many different ways to set it up its impossible to not have your desired configuration. Unless like someone else said you bought this tab for the sole fact of it being thinner than the thing that soaks up my woman's monthly friend. Just goes to show you that Apple will suck you dry!
I fancy the car holder. i fancy the case.
Can the case be used in the holder at the same time? The reason I don't use a case at the moment is because my Galaxy S won't fit in the car holder. Why they never make car holders to fit cases I don't know.
But the pictures and previews shows promising. Anybody know?
I would think the flip case would be OK as it replaces the original back panel, so the phone should be no bigger.
I would think the cases that go over the back panel would struggle though
I really like this Combo:
This is the link to a Crap SuperGrip Car Holder:
http://www.mobilelinuxnews.com/2012/05/video-review-crab-supergrip-mobile-phone-holder/
This is a Flexishield for the SGS3:
http://www.mobilelinuxnews.com/2012/05/review-flexishield-case-samsung-galaxy-s3/
and here is a picture showing both of them together as you can put the phone in the holder with the case on:
http://www.mobilelinuxnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Samsung-Galaxy-S3-Flexshield-Case-5.jpg
I am looking at car holders but does not seems to be really good one for the new S3.
Even the original Vehicle Dock has disadvantages i think.
It looks like if you have the phone on the dock you can not use the camera for video as it is blocked by the dock. Any suggestions for good dock with camera not covered?
car holder is not a have-to gadgets, yet the Galaxy S3 Case is a must...
I had a Commuter case on my previous phone (Inspire 4G), and I was never successful in finding an armband that fit properly. If you ever had a similar experience, perhaps this will help you with your HTC One.
I found this item at Best Buy; check out your local store or other online sources if you're interested (sold out on their website):
Rocketfish™ Mobile- Armband Case for Samsung Galaxy Player 5
Model*RF-SGP513B-AB
SKU*6954057
Observations:
-The phone (with the OtterBox on) slides in and out of the armband easily.
-The power and volume buttons are easily accessible.
-The edge of OtterBox makes the armband's window bulge/curve outward. This is perfect for me, because it "floats" over the screen, meaning it won't stick to my InvisibleShield.
-The space between the window and the screen makes the screen less responsive.
-If you plan to use wired headphones, you'll need to cut a small hole to access the jack.
I use Bluetooth headphones during workouts; I have no need to physically interact with the phone so the decreased screen sensitivity and lack of a headphone jack opening are not problems for me. Your needs may vary.
Slightly off topic...what bluetooth headphone do you use?

Motorola S-11 Flex HD. Wraps around the back of your head.
If you're in the market for something similar, do not buy the cheaper S-10 model... The sound quality is terrible, and call audio didn't work with any ICS or later ROMs that I tried.

Not to dig up an old thread but I just found this thread while searching for an armband that would fit my newly acquired HTC One with a protective case on it. Figured I needed one since I shattered my last phone after pulling it out of my armband (without a case on it) at the gym.
I purchased the Ballistic SG1134-A085 SG case and miraculously, they had this armband at a local Best Buy and it ended up fitting perfectly. Thanks for creating this thread. I probably never would have found a suitable case otherwise, especially at the price!:good:

Hmm this got me to searching my self another option little more expensive but looks soft. Even stats that's with Otter-box installed!

I have a Mous limitless 3.0 case which is only half way compatible with my Anker 633 magnetic power bank. It's a slightly heavy battery and the magnet inside the case is definitely not enough. I need opinions on either a better case that's fully compatible with magsafe/magnetic batteries or a ring that's strong enough to hold it. Either inside the case between the phone and case or on the back of case itself. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me
I watched video's of these and don't think without opening phone it's really worth it. However, if you figure it out, keep me posted
I did buy this case I have a dome on to its pretty bulky and offers good protection I have the black and black and black and red version had a metal ring on the back to buy not sure if it's compatible with your charger
I'm using the ESR Halolock to stick my phone to a car wireless charger that I have mounted to the Elgato LP mic arm (DIY magsafe tripod to record from above through a ring light). Was using the simple ones before (just a circle) but my phone was spinning all the time.
I'm also using a popsocket magnetic base.
I've sticked the rings on a dbrand, rhinoshiled (which I've sold because I hated it) and spigen thin fit case.
