Hi,
My wife dropped my Desire (now hers) and cracked the screen. LCD appears to be fine, just the gorilla glass has cracked. I was looking on eBay for a replacement and found "digitizers"...is this what I need? "Screen glass" yields no results!
Thanks

He means send it to htc for repair, if u have warranty left. But what u found on ebay is correct, digitizer is right, u get the screen and the connecting part aswell, to connect to the inside of the phone. Theres vids on youtube on how to change them if u do it urself

Does this phone need a new digitizer or lcd screen? I'm going to fix it for a friend and don't want to buy the wrong part.
I was originally under the assumption that because the touch screen is fully functional-I would need to replace the entire LCD screen but a friend of mine told me I may need to only replace the digitizer.

If the touch screen works, just replace the digitiser.

Isn't the digitiser the touch sensitive part of the screen? So if the touch screen works, why would you need to change the digitiser?

Correct. If the LCD had broken aswell their would have been some kind of bleeding like when someone breaks a TV or LCD monitor.
So all you need is the digitizer

flash an RUU.Will return phone to stock and remove root.
But if you have cracked your screen it won't be covered under warranty. you need to claim off insurance if you have any.

I ,have those small , barely visible yellow spots which are only visible on white screen.
Would those go away? Can't really take a pic as it is barely noticeable..
Is this the glue or something?

It's a hardware problem, not the glue.

Hardware defects should still be covered regardless of bootloader status
Do you suggest I just flash a Europe RUU and then send it off?

Yes, relock your bootloader too
I bought a case that charges the phone through the pins at the back, however it's not working on my one x and it works on my cousins
I think my contact pins aren't working
Any ideas? Would a factory reset help?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Probably a hardware issue. Send it back

Had the same problem. Opened the phone and found it disconnected. Pushed the connector back in. Now it work fine. Definitely a hardware issue.

There is plenty of tutorials on youtube... It's not that hard but you do have to be very careful...
