The problem with all 3rd party apps is that unless your friends have changed their settings to allow for other applications access, their posts will not show up in your news feed.
I used friend Caster pro for a while (great fb app), but for many of my friends I did not get their latest posts.. So instead of trying to get them to change their settings I went for the official fb app.
It has gotten better, but it is still a bit ugly, slow, battery consuming, and has very poor and buggy notification support.

Because they know when you have over 500 million people that no matter how bad your app is they will still come back to the site.
I have stopped using the app. It drives me crazy. I use friendcaster and website. The app is so slugish and acts stupid around 99% of the time.

Faster facebook. Goggle it on the play store
Lol I don't like Facebook enough to get a dedicated app for it. From what I have seen though, their mobile site is really poorly designed like they are trying to force you to use one their app. I assume Friendcaster is much better than the official app.
Don't forget that the latest update also added FB camera and FB messenger apps. At least mine did. Now I have 3 FB apps. WEAK.

Yeah they changes the name on the market. I believe it is called "fast for android"

Yeah, I've deleted the Fb app too--don't like the increasing bloat and I'm really annoyed by the their spammed camera and messaging apps. Tried Fast for Facebook, and as much as I'd like to support their xda-friendly devs, it doesn't seem to update all that well or display photos and such.
OTOH, the mobile web app, it seems to do what I need without bloating up my phone. For a light Fb users, it does the job.
Yep... Agreed. I absolutely hate the facebook app.

That was the last straw for me, uninstalled it. They've removed the extra launcher icons now, but the app is still terrible.
A lot of times it will turn on my GPS when I enter the app, and never let go of it.
It's terrible cause it's Facebook. I hope my boss doesn't read this

1) Doesn't happen to me. Not a universal issue.
2) Chill out.
oh, and no one is forcing you to use the Facebook app.
Here's some cheese to go with that whine:
Fast for Facebook: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.fastfacebook.com
Friendcaster: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.senab.blueNotifyFree
1. Change your kernel governor to Interactive or Conservative.
2. Use Friendcaster. Its way better anyway.

or you can just use the facebook mobile site thru the browser.
I used friend caster way before and I didn't like it but I been hearing a lot good things about it so I ma try it out. It looks neat will see how notifications behave. Facebook app sucks on Android or iPhone idk why can't they make it right

This is a known bug. It happens on my phone every time.
- Install facebook app
- login
- exit the app
- run the app again
If you install eg. "OSMonitor" you'll see the facebook process is consuming a lot of CPU in the background.
Given their track record, they'll probably fix it in a few years.
I have another issue with Facebook. For some reason every time I try to share something it comes in some foreign language. Coincidentally started after installing flip board. I have uninstalled flipboard and also reinstalled Facebook but no resolution. Please help.

Turn off Facebook sync? works for me. My battery life is beyond awesome.
m.facebook.com bro
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
the only function I'm really interested in (contacts sync) doesn't even work with the official facebook app.
Facebook sucks up battery and network for me, in crazy ways.
If I login to facebook and leave it running, I get zero notifications, loading anything (even over 4G or wifi) takes forever, and it somehow managed to suck up 2 gigs of data in a 72 hour period (as well as using 38% of my battery?!?). Anyone have any idea why/how THAT happened?
It's an easy fix though: uninstall app, use m.facebook.com

Can you recommend me a good Facebook and Twitter app?

Hello all,
As the title says really, tweetdeck was alrite but hadn't been updated in years and tweekdeck started to go odd and fail liking posts for example and currently Seesmic seems to force me to open pics in the browser rather than showing a preview. Can anyone name some of their favourites especially when being able to update both Facebook and Twitter at same time? Feel free to review it briefly saying why you like the app.
Best
Jr
I only know of 50/50 solutions unfortunately. Friendcaster allows you to update facebook statuses and share them to twitter. Flipboard can sync twitter and facebook feeds. I don't use twitter so I have no idea how well it works but viewing facebook pictures opens up inside flipboard rather than sending you to a website.

I've tried a variety of different facebook and twitter apps but i still prefered stock apps for both i recently tried tweetcaster (twitter client) but there just seems to be alot goin on in that app for my liking.
Friendcaster and Plume
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Depends what you desire from your client. Personally, I like http://boidapp.com/. It's not as fully featured as some others but look beautiful.
Well ideally would like the app to do both fb and Twitter,be able to view peoples pictures direct in the app without it using the browser and lastly to be able to update both at once. So i would like smoking similar to tweet deck and tweak deck but not so...well buggy. The reason for this thread was because it got to the point where everytime i tried to like a post it would fail. Even after reconfig and even a wipe of the app data. I got fed up with it and removed both afore mentioned apps.
Have you tryed tweakdeck?

Friend caster is a good app but it has a lot of stuff that are missing from the original Facebook app like search doesn't work well with it

Yeah tried friend caster but it didn't get on well with me :-(
Facebook - Friendcaster
Facebook & Twitter - TweetDeck & Flipboard
Try em' out & review it for yourself ^^
Friendcaster & Boid
Facebook native app is good enough. Just make sure u do a fresh install on every update.
For twitter I suggest TWEAKdeck, paulobrien version of tweetdeck. Lots of improvements compare to original tweetdeck
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I recommend twicca for twitter. It has a built in viewer for pictures and tweetlonger. It also has color themes.
As for facebook, I can't recommend anything because I don't have a FB account.

Can't get FaceBook pics to sync with contacts

For the life of me I can't figure this out. Anyone else having the same issues or know how to do this.
You'll have to wait for a Dev to add it in on a rom, their are apps that do it too I use hax sync on my galaxy nexus

I use this app:

Since facebook seems to have removed the picture feature. It works pretty well.

Your favourite Twitter app and why?

I just got into using twitter for my music, what is your favourite twitter app and why?
I'm only using the stock Twitter application since there are so many and I'm not sure which is good.

I'm a big fan of Twicca
I haven't really used any Twitter app other than Twitter and falcon. I'm using falcon at the moment and I like how the widget works. Nice and simple with notifications on new tweets, refresh and do on.

Plume here mainly because it had the nicest looking widget
Falcon Pro for Twitter. How fluid the app is, inline website viewing, and ease of access to lists and list management.
I previously used Boid and loved it until they stopped developing it, have they been releasing updates for it since it became open source? Other twitter apps I love are Echofon and Tweetlanes.
Falcon Pro. I rarely buy apps but I did for this. Definitely worth it

Another vote for Plume, although it sounds like I need to check out Falcon, I haven't heard of that one.
I like Plume because it has thumbnails of images in tweets - although some don't like that. As mentioned before the widgets are good also.
Used to be on plume used tweetings then found twidere which is the same same as tweetings but free, no ads.
Anyone got news of Carbon for twitter apps... Was supposed to come out in end August or beginning of October can't remember..
