I switched the font on my phone, facebook switched as well. I'm now tired of the font but facebook is still stuck on the first font I installed. I un-installed and reinstalled facebook and the first font that I installed is still stuck. Anyone have a solution?
I would really like to fix this.
how did you install the font? Did you do it though root explorer and change the names of the font reboot ect or did you use some font changer app?
you could try :
•Home Screen
•Menu --> Settings
•Applications
•"All"
•Select "Facebook"
•"Clear Cache". If you want to delete ALL data, choose "Clear Data"

I used a font changer app, can't remember which though. I may have used rom toolbox pro, but like I said, I can't remember. I cleared data through settings and the font is still stuck on facebook, this is getting really annoying. Thanks for your suggestion.

try installing another font style in rom toolbox pro then reboot then go back to rom tool box pro and set back to defaults i think there is an option in there to do that let me know
I don't see an option to set back to defaults.
Maybe try to Clear Data and Cache on your Facebook app? You will probably have to input all of your log in information again but I feel like that would do something.

hey all,
just installed the newest freshly squeezed miui and am real happy with it. except one thing. the browser icon is just a brown square. tried installing opera mobile, but its icon was a red square. it really messes with the look on my screen
is there anything I can do? tried clearing launcher cache, but didn't work
thanks
Download a new set of icons over at MIUI android, the Kowalski set looks awesome. And simply reapply the theme.
If its a no go, recommend a reflash and check MD5 of the Rom aswell
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
yea, I agree. that icon set does look good. anyways I applied it. this seems to fix the opera mobile icon, but not the default browser. might be the icon set didn't have an icon for miui browser
it doesn't matter now really, ill just hide it and use opera. thanks for help
unmount and then after a while mount your sd card from setting, this might also bring back the missing icon
unmounted and remounted, stll the browser icon is weird. I don't see how this would work, as icons aren't stored in sd I think
I don't know if this is really a mod, and it's not really a theme. This simple edit will change the appearance of the email app, to make it more closely match the look of the contacts, dialer, and sms apps.
You must be rooted. Navigate to /system/csc, and select feature.xml.
Scroll to the "Email" section, and change this line from this:
<CscFeature_Email_UseFixedBgColorAsWhite>true</CscFeature_Email_UseFixedBgColorAsWhite>
To this:
<CscFeature_Email_UseFixedBgColorAsWhite>false</CscFeature_Email_UseFixedBgColorAsWhite>
Save, exit,
Make sure permissions are set to: rw-r--r--,
and reboot.

It just turns the white background of the app, black. The actual body of the email will look like it always did.

Makes me wonder why Sprint chose the light background, when some of the other carriers went with the dark background. To me, it flows with the rest of the UI better.
I agree

Make sure your file explorer has root, and R/W permissions, and be sure to save the edited file before you exit. Then reboot. I've done this mod with Root Explorer, ES File, and Solid Explorer. What file explorer are you using?

I prefer the black background as well, but the dark grey on black for the message list is hard to read. And the actual emails still being white is a big downer as well. Oh well...back to K9 Mail for me.

Love k9 mail for all the features and best of all black background everywhere. Hate the white background garbage that people like from coming from Apple products.
It just hurts to read and blinding when in a dark room

Haha, but HTC was just about as guilty with the white background, for several years, even back in the Windows Mobile days. The sad part is, I was too ignorant to know any better.
Worked great... hated that grayish background... thanks!

I edited the OP. After you save the edited file, make sure the permissions are rw-r--r--. Twice, during my testing, the permissions changed after saving, for some reason. So, just verify the permissions are correct, before you reboot.
I noticed that I lost my secondary selections on my keyboard after this mod. No more comma icons etc. I tried to reverse the process numerous times. The mail app stays black and my keyboard stays this way. Any ideas? I guess I'll just nand back otherwise.

You may have inadvertently changed something, while scrolling, or whatever.
In feature.xml, scroll to the SIP section. Make sure these lines match what you have:
<CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>en_US;es</CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary> <CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>true</CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>
As far as I know, it has to be exact. The entire entry can't have any extra spaces, or stray characters.
Save, exit, make sure permissions are rw-r--r--, and reboot. Hope this gets you going.
Thanks I'll check it out right now.
No dice. Everything looks right. The email app stays black and still no change to keyboard. It's rw r r. File saved properly etc. Weird.

That is strange. When I first flashed the LK8 leak, I had the international keyboard (no secondary keys). The Sprint feature.xml has the secondary key keyboard by default. I've since searched, and found out that the international Note 2 owners added this entry to their feature.xml, to get the 'US' keyboard. Are you on the viperboy's latest version of the leak? There is no reason I know of, why it won't work.
It's alright. I got it back by grabbing another feature. Xml file from a backup. No worries. I may try it again Lllater and see if I can replicate the issue.
I'm on the stock Deodexed rooted rom.

Running CM10.1.2, I noticed that the calendar on it (jenkins), is not as up to date as the Google calendar app. I tried installing the Google one, but (1) the installed name was some random hexadecimal string and, (2) more importantly, caused significant problems with everything.
Can we replace the CM calendar or will it be updated with the new features from the Google calendar?
Replace the cm calendar. I just disable it in app settings and install the play store version. I've never had any of the problems you described, but you might try rebooting, reinstalling the app, and clearing calendar app cache and calender storage data

Disabling the CM calendar got rid of the significant problems, but the name still shows as "#ff000000" in the App Drawer. Plus some of the settings text are either "#ffdddddd" or "#ffeeeeee". Functionality is fine though, so I guess I'll keep it! Thanks!
Edit: Well, it got rid of some problems....
Those odd names are hexadecimal codes, and they look like colors. For instance, #ff000000 is solid black. I think you have a very odd issue, maybe a third party launcher like nova that lets you custom name apps? You may be in for a clean ROM install...

Not sure why it thinks it should display a color instead of regular text. I'm pretty much using stock CM10.1.2 with no significant customizations.
After trying to reply yes to an calendar event from gmail, it FCed.

I go to Contacts settings and set to display only Google Contacts. As I know this should have defaulted new contacts to be added into Google and you no longer need to choose which phonebook to store it from the dropdown menu, but it doesn't work on my GPro.
Any1 knows how to solve this? Thanks in advance

While adding a new contact u would get an option to link that contact to ur google account(save to cloud which can be synced by using ur gmail id) or save it on phone memory only or on sim.. Is this what u are asking? Try saving a new account and watch out for these options.

I'm aware of the options, and it is the option dropdown menu that I want to default to Google. It's annoying having to change it to google everytime I want to add a new contact.
As a matter of fact, I can live without using the phone memory at all!
Sent from my LG-E988 using xda app-developers app
Looks like this phone really locks down the contact book. You can't even edit your own profile info once you set it. At the top of the contact list there's an entry called "ME." I went to edit it and put my home landline phone as my home phone, then added my cell as a mobile. The home number is greyed out and you can neither edit nor delete it. What kind of nonsense is this?
I'm also looking for a solution.
Clearing data/cache from Contacts and Contact Storage from either Apps settings or TitaniumBackup do not work.
Really frustrating. I'm having a hard time moving my contacts from other phones which can't sync with Google.

Try to use rainbow contacts (get it from playstore) if your other phone had bluetooth on it..
Is there any solution for this Contact problem that Google can't be the default but always the Phone ?
I was hoping upgrading to kitkat would change this, but it didn't.
This is the CM11 mms.apk fully functional with Nexus 5 Hangouts/SMS icon. Backup your original mms.apk and mms.odex. Put this on /system/priv-app/, delete mms.odex and change permissions to rw-r--r--

For anyone who wants a SMS app like this and does not have root, you can install 8sms from the market. Has all of the same features as the SMS app from CM without the need for root!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thinkleft.eightyeightsms.mms
Ok just so everyone knows this doesn't work on 4.3. I have 16gig UK retail single sim.
Also can anyone get 8sms to work as a stand alone app? it will work as long as u keep the stock mms app but once you remove the stock app and check the stand alone box in 8mms settings i just get a force close.

The permissions are rw-r--r--. When you do that, clear the data and cache of mms app on settings > applications. If that doesnt work, boot into CWM and wipe dalvik cache.
