Email doesnt show - HTC One X

Hi everyone, just got my HOX and am loving it. Though the internal email does not work correctly. I can add my emails to gmail and hotmail, but it does not show any messages, even the unread one. I refresh it but it still says no unread mail.
any ideas?

Update to a newer base. And also in settings, try download all emails from past

Anyone having problems syncing Gmail today?

I am currently running MCR3.1, and today I seem to have some problems with my gmail syncing.
When I receive an email to my gmail account, it shows up on my Desire however, when I delete (or read) it on my Desire, it still shows up in the inbox count on the top of the screen, and the changes don't seem to being reflected in my Gmail account.
The items are still shown as unread, even though I have deleted the item on my Desire.
I have attached a screenshot to show the inbox count, even though all emails are read.
Any ideas?
Stu
It happen to me some hours ago, althoug not on Gmail but on my own server, through IMAP. I read the email, and it still said in the notification bar that I have unread email.
What I did is I killed the email app. Then the notification went away. Then I started the mail app again and no problem at all. Dont know why it happen.
No issues here with Gmail app and MCRr3

notification for browser-based email?

I cant seem to forward my college's email to my gmail or any other email app. My school just updated its email platform so I am now able to check it via my phone's browser. My question is: is there any way for me to receive notifications for new emails this way?
No, has to be an app.
You could however, just set up your Gmail account so all the college email gets forwarded into that, and that way you receive notifications.

Maybe you can set up a email account on your phone (if it's POP3, IMAP or Exchange android supports it).

[Q] Changing Default Email Folder in Stock Email

I get my work emails through the stock email app.
All I want is the inbox as standard, but every so often it returns to all messages.
Is there any way to stop this please?
Cheers

Did you ever get any answer for this?.
It's so annoying , to delete an unread email in the 'inbox', only for it to reappear as an unread email in the 'all messages' view.
I didn't, but I haven't had the problem for a while.
Maybe an update sorted it out.

gmail app issues

i recently noticed that my gmail app is acting weird...
it says i have few new mails (shows a no. on top right hand side) but there are no mails shown. but then if i go to gmail.com on PC it shows those new mails. i thought it had something to do with showing just priority inbox, but i checked settings in gmail app, and it is set to show everything in inbox.
any ideas?
thank you.
Yeah it has been doing that to me too.
For me they were emails I had previously deleted, that for some reason didn't and got trapped. Just delete them from website, and you should be good.
thanks for the reply...
yeah once i deleted those mails on desktop, it worked fine for sometime and then again its showing 2 unread mails on phone, its kinda frustrating me!!
In gmail, search for label:unread. This will display the unread messages so you can delete them. I think it has to do with the threaded messages and the new ones get grouped with old threads that aren't displayed.

That works for me. Search for "is:unread in:inbox" will show the unread messages in the inbox. I use that search all the time.

Problem with yahoo email

I have a customer that is having issues with her yahoo email. First, the problem she had was that everytime a new email came in. It would show some form of spam message in the notification bar but when you clicked on it it would go to the right email. I recommended remvoing the email account and re adding it to the phone. Now she's not having that problem but she's not getting any notifications and old emails that she had read are now showing up unread after refreshing the email account. any help will be greatly appreciated.
Is she using the default email app or the Y! Mail app from Yahoo? I haven't had the issues you described when using either one, but maybe she can try a different app than the one she's using now.
She's using the phone email app. I tried the Yahoo mail app but it wouldn't show old emails because it's a business's email.

Hmmm... not sure - I don't know why being a business email would have any issue with showing old emails on Yahoo. Only other thought I had was to try a different email client like K-9 or Mail Droid and see if you have better luck with that.
