i have tried to push samsung keyboard with arabic support from wanamlite's arabic rtl patch made for GB on an ICS rom and it worked , so i wanted to share that with u, as i am one of those who missed the arabic support in the ICS samsung keyboard
( the languages this keyboard includes are english, arabic, urdu, farsi,... )
here is the link :http://db.tt/NUpRdCBd
just copy and paste the apk file to your /system/app and set premissions to rw-r--r--
and then reboot ur phone and it should work for u, it worked for me on 4.0.3
thanks to wanam for his great RTL and arabic keyboard
Force close why ???

u should set the root explorer premissions from R/O to R/W , then copy and paste the apk file in /system/app then long press the copied file , and choose premissions and set Owner : read write -
Group: read - -
Others: read - -
after that tab ok and change R/W to R/O from the top of root explororer, then reboot and it should work for u
it's recomended to delete the previouse AxT9IME.apk and reboot before doing the above .
It force closes all the time !!!
now I dnt have a samsung keyboard !!
I deleted the previous one and the .odex also
moved the apk to system and fixed permissions but still it doesnt work

i have tried to delete the .odex file but i get the "failed to delete file" because apparently i don't have enough permissions. can anybody tell me what can i do to get those permissions? i'm running xxjw4 with cf root 4.4.
thanks.
u need install app superuser on google play.
so i found a way to change the arabic fonts back in the ICS roms and it was working fine
but after i updated my Gnexus to jelly bean 4.1.1 i did the same old method to change the arabic font but it did not work
the method in ICS was to copy the same .ttf font file to 3 copies and rename them to :
1-DroidNaskh-Regular.ttf
2-GS45_Arab_AndroidOS.ttf
3-DroidSansArabic.ttf
and after that i have to change the permissions and restart
so i did the same in jelly bean but its not working after some research on the net i was able to understand that whole fonts thing in JB
so i copied the same .ttf font to 2 copies and renamed them to :
1-DroidNaskh-Regular.ttf
2-DroidNaskh-Regular-SystemUI.ttf
changing the permissions again , restart and it did changed my arabic fonts but its a mess up and its now unreadable :crying:
my device is GSM 4.1.1 stock + root and CWM
and i uploaded the arabic font ( .ttf + .apk ) that i want to change in case someone could make me a flash-able zip
any help would be appreciated ...
its all fixed up now
apparently it was a problem in the font it self

I need help with changing the system fonts as well, I used to use TypeFresh when I was on Gingerbread and it'd work flawlessly. After getting my Gnex, I tried that same app again and it bricked my phone, I had to restore it. Any suggestions as to how I can do this without manually having to replaced files?
I've read Font Changer works, but based on the app info in the play store, it only supports 4.0, not 4.1
Thanks
ROM TOOLBOX app has a working fine change font feature but it does not not have any Arabic fonts. If you can get the fonts on your own you can place them on sd card and apply them in rom toolbox!. I tried few ones myself like almohanad and Arabic font was changed to almohanad but system ui did not look good and spaces between lines were much bigger that long app names did not show half of the second line in the app drawer and I restored back system fonts using rom toolbox

Hey.
I recently upgraded from LewaOS (cm7.2 based) to cm10. I liked LewaOS' font so much that extracted it from the .zip. The odd thing is the same font that was working flawlessly inside the rom, does not joint Arabic letters in Windows and in cm10. Any suggestion?
hey guys as an alternative to the default 23MB huge LatinIME as is there in our CM10, we can use the AOSP version of the same which contains all the languages but still its just 10.3 MB
Download Link: LatinIME.apk
Instructions: Backup ur original 23MB LatinIME.apk from system/app and then push the one from here to the same and then set permissions rw-r--r--. Now reboot.
Thats it hv fn
Awesome, will test it out.
sure buddy, let me know the feedback
CAn I use this to my CM10? I think it will solve some problems, btw nice work dude
Definitely buddy.

It Is An Awesome Keyboard ! So Glad
Can you make it as a flashable .zip ?!
Hi guys, i'm coming from an Xperia Neo and i think that xperia keyboard is the best for me and it's better than stock android keyboard or HWime, so i found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818442 tested and work perfect on my new P6. Flash with CWM or follow the second instruction in the link or here if you don't have CWM:
1. Decompress the zip file.
2. Ignore the META-INF folder
3. In the app folder, you'll find textinput-chn.apk (Mandarin Chinese keyboard) and textinput-tng.apk (English keyboard).
4. You can move one or both into /system/app folder with ES File Manager/root explorer/etc. (or adb)
5. Move lib/libXT9Engine into /system/lib
6. Move usr/xt9 into /system/usr
7. Reboot. If you still don't see the keyboard in your settings, install the apk with your file manager which should work with the libraries installed.
I hope you like this

no it does'nt
Is there a way to install it without root?

If you have the same project like this,i don't take this,,cause maybe any developers makes the same project,,
Okay,,
Let's Do It,,
Download this,,
http://www.mediafire.com/?43kli3aqq0bkif4
-You've must a full root you're device!!
-No Problems if you're using Stock Deodex or Odex ROM
-Backup you're ROM first or backup files in /system/app/textinput-tng.apk and textinput-chn.apk
-Backup you're files in /system/usr/ xperia_keyboard_dictionaries
-This is not a flashable.zip!!!
-You've must extracted and you have a 3 folder or files: xt9 folders,textinput-tng.apk,and libXT9engine.so
-Movin' 3 files that to /system
-Change Permissions xt9 folders like that
v v v
v - v
v - v
-And open xt9 folders change permissions all files in rw-r--r--
If done,,movin' to /system/usr
-After that,,change permissions file libXT9engine.so to rw-r--r-- like that
v v -
v - -
v - -
And movin' to /system/lib
-After that,,change permissions files textinput-tng.apk to rw-r--r-- and push to /system/app,,if you have a questions overwrite just do it,,
-Delete textinput-chn.apk in /system/app cause i don't know this MOD compatible or not in China Keyboard Mode,,0
-Delete xperia_keyboard_dictionaries in /system/usr
-After all,,i have something issues like a back button can't using after pushing last steps,,but don't worry!!! Just only Reboot!!!
-And Violaaa
-Maybe any friends in here can make this MOD to flashable.zip??
Thank's Regard For You,,
